Chapter 351: Divine Rank

Destiny's Dominion · 第三五一章 神级

As the four red dots appeared, everyone in the combat monitoring room instantly entered a state of full concentration.

"Alert! Alert! All units go to Level One alert! Snipers on all floors take positions. Engagement expected within ten seconds."

"One of them has been confirmed as 'Thunderfoot' Valit, a Legendary Tier 3 magic-energy warrior."

"The one on the far left is Talmadge, a Legendary Tier 4 magic-energy Sanctum warrior, a subordinate of Michelle Medici."

"Defense arrays are beginning maximum activation!"

"Magic-energy annihilation cannons are being prepared, energy infusion in progress—"

"The identity of the one in front is unknown; should be using illusion magic. Guessing this is at least a Legendary-tier dragon-blooded sorcerer; I've already sensed the dragon's might."

"Wall hardening spell completed; our mages are reinforcing the building's load-bearing columns."

"Confirming the last person's identity; from his magic-energy reflection, he should be a Legendary Tier 2 melee class."

"They've entered 1.5-kilometer range—"

Information from various sources kept converging in the monitoring room, but Bruder, his face covered by a mask, paid little attention. His expression focused and cold, he stared straight ahead at one screen. On it were four tiny red dots, approaching at a leisurely pace.

The one at the lead was covered in a towering, imposing black magic-powered armor, so their face and figure were unclear. Yet the naturally emanating dragon's might could be clearly sensed even inside the building.

Inside the building, gunmen had already opened fire, and several machine-gun positions on the top floor were spewing flames. But none of this could stop the power armor's approach. A thick layer of crimson source-energy armor had formed outside its body; even the 23mm rounds from the magic-energy machine guns couldn't penetrate its defense, only bursting into flames of exploding bullets against the power armor.

Yet watching this scene, a hint of confusion flickered in the depths of Bruder's eyes.

Too simple, far too simple!

The fourteen legends summoned by Light Magic Industries earlier had impressed him. But their subsequent actions left him puzzled.

Only four people dared to attack this semi-militarized building they occupied? How much did they look down on them, the Aberrants? Or were they truly foolish enough to think that just these four legends could breach this Arlington Building in their lord's absence?

"Lieutenant Holm, have any alerts been detected in other areas?"

"No, sir!"

A man in a lieutenant's uniform, seated before numerous monitoring screens, replied hurriedly: "All areas have been checked—not just instruments; our several mages have also conducted detailed and thorough scans. Plus we have our 'Apollo's Eye of Truth'; I doubt they can fool that holy artifact."

Apollo is not only the sun god in Greek mythology but also the god of truth.

"Continue monitoring."

Bruder stared for a moment, then directly picked up a walkie-talkie.

"Caddiro, you're in position now, right?"

"Of course! I'm at the sniper position on the fifteenth floor."

The voice in the walkie-talkie carried a hint of displeasure: "What? Worried I can't handle these few? If so, just watch."

"I'm not doubting you, Caddiro, but I feel something's a bit off."

Bruder's brow was deeply furrowed: "If possible, can you fire now, at this range? Can you do it, Caddiro?"

"A bit difficult; they're legends after all—"

This time the voice in the walkie-talkie carried some hesitation: "Range exceeds 1.5 kilometers; I can't guarantee a kill."

"Just cripple them; I don't want them getting too close!"

Bruder said coldly: "Caddiro, aside from these four, we haven't found any other anomalies so far."

"I see. I think I understand your meaning. Their actions make you suspicious, right? Only four legends is indeed a bit few."

The legendary sniper named Caddiro chuckled: "So priority is to snipe the enemy, huh? Not right—"

Before he finished speaking, he suddenly let out a surprised exclamation. At that moment, Bruder also saw a glimmer of fluorescence appear before the power armor on the screen ahead.

"That's the prelude to the magic 'Arcane Blast'."

"Can we disrupt her casting? Looks like her casting speed is a bit slow."

"Slow is due to the anti-magic field. Disruption is impossible; that should be a magic scroll, already completed."

"Note! Spells usable in an anti-magic field are at least Legendary rank."

In the combat monitoring room, a mage of level fifteen was present and immediately identified the type of magic. But what followed sent chills down their spines.

"The magic-energy detector shows abnormal readings—it's a Legendary-rank Arcane Blast! Level twenty-two, twenty-four, twenty-five—no, that's divine power—"

At that moment, terror finally flashed in Bruder's pupils.

"Caddiro! Evacuate your position now! They're aiming at the center of the fourteenth floor. So now! Move! Fast!"

He unhesitatingly moved to the magic array altar at the center of the monitoring room. As Bruder's hand pressed a red crystal on the altar, layers of magic arrays unfolded in all directions, overloading the building's internal magic arrays to 140%.

"I know, this is damned! They have a divine scion, even a demigod—"

The legendary sniper named Caddiro cursed repeatedly.

And in Bruder's cold, still mind, a suspicion arose that he couldn't suppress.

How did they know? Not only did they aim directly at the fourteenth floor, but they also accurately avoided Anthony Braden and hit the combat monitoring room?

At that moment, the fluorescence before the power armor suddenly erupted. Instantly, a massive multicolored beam streaked across the sky and slammed into the Arlington Building's structure.

The four layers of magic defense arrays covering the outer surface held for only about a third of a second before collapsing under the vast magic-energy impact.

The inner magic arrays couldn't hold out much longer either, disintegrating inch by inch along with the magically reinforced outer walls.

The entire building shook violently under the colossal force, and the 'combat monitoring room,' as the second hub of the arrays, bore the brunt. Streams of high-purity magic-energy seeped in, causing many in the room to spontaneously combust or even explode amid screams!

Even Bruder, a legendary powerhouse, had blood at the corners of his mouth, a ferocious expression, and bulging veins all over his body.

He finally endured until the 'Arcane Blast' spent its force. As the vast magic-energy tide receded, a cold ruthlessness and boundless murderous intent began to surface in Bruder's eyes.

But the next moment, another tremendous boom shook the building. The seven-meter-thick alloy steel plate in front of the combat monitoring room shattered on impact.

Bruder spat out a large mouthful of blood again, most of his body disintegrating under the collision, turning to dust!

The last consciousness surfaced in his mind.

—This was indeed a demigod, a demigod-rank 'Barbarian Charge'!
