Chapter 415: Phone Call

Destiny's Dominion · 第四一五章 通话

After the combat meeting ended, Sampson Brut and the others left one after another. The upcoming war might last twenty days or even over a month, and they needed thorough preparation. If they relied solely on their newly established logistics department, there would inevitably be numerous errors and oversights.

At that moment, Major General Michael Wood received a phone call. He frowned, walked out of the war room, and entered an empty corridor before pressing the answer button on his phone.

When the signal connected, faint bolts of lightning coalesced before Michael Wood, quickly forming a figure.

The face was blurry and hard to make out, but the figure wore an Army overcoat with four stars on the shoulders—clearly a four-star Army general.

Della?

Michael Wood showed no trace of reverence, speaking impatiently: "What do you want? Make it brief, okay? I don't have much free time right now."

"It's about the Dragon Witch Cult, isn't it? I've heard a little about your situation."

The man's voice carried a hint of mockery, causing Michael Wood's pupils to contract slightly, revealing a dangerous glint.

But this four-star Army general was equally indifferent to Michael Wood's attitude.

"To be honest, I was shocked and puzzled when I heard you went to that Rising Sun Electrical Retail Company. You're a federal hero, after all. Even if you were expelled from the military, you shouldn't have sunk to this level. If you were willing, those big conglomerates would eagerly extend an olive branch to you."

"And then be at their beck and call like a dog?"

Michael Wood lowered his eyelids: "Cut the crap, Della, okay? If that's all you have to say, I'm hanging up. I don't have time for chit-chat."

"Such incomprehensible pride and thinking. But you're not yet in a position for those big conglomerates to entrust you with important tasks, Michael."

The four-star general sighed: "But now your chance has come. Someone is interested in you. If you can help him solve a small problem, then Michael, you'll have the opportunity to command a heavy armored division in the Dark World. I know you—you crave war and find satisfaction in battle. There's no place in this world better suited for you than the Dark World."

"A heavy armored division?"

Michael Wood seemed interested: "Let's hear it. What kind of small problem?"

"The security department of the Rising Sun Group."

The four-star general spoke with temptation: "This is easy for you, Michael. And don't worry about your Styx contract—we'll find a way to deal with it. That person has also promised you assets worth over a billion gold shields."

But Michael Wood burst out laughing after hearing this: "Sounds tempting. Having a private army of more than one heavy armored division in the Dark World—that must be a company with assets over a trillion? But Della, doesn't this just prove the potential of this Rising Sun company? Compared to accepting someone else's heavy armored division, I'd much rather build an army of my own making in the Dark World, Della."

"I admit its potential. The electrical retail industry seems like a big market. But your Rising Sun company may not survive the brutal competition."

The four-star general's voice had turned cold: "Your boss has nothing—he's destined to be crushed by the tide of this era. No, in just two days, he will die in the Adrian Islands. That is the prophecy many big shots have made about his fate. Even so, do you still intend to refuse me? To stay on a sinking ship and resist the behemoths you're about to face?"

"You're scaring me."

Michael Wood sneered nonchalantly: "If you really plan to take down our Rising Sun, then do something concrete. Threats like this won't scare me, Della!"

Then he hung up the phone, and the lightning-formed figure dissipated instantly.

Next, Michael Wood retraced his steps and saw Alyssa Targaryen at the corner of the corridor.

"Miss Targaryen, you were waiting for me, weren't you?"

He had sensed Alyssa's presence long ago; she had stayed twenty meters away, making a gesture of keeping her distance. This pleased Michael Wood, as he felt respected.

"The boss asked me to pass a message to you, Major General Wood."

Alyssa said calmly: "He said he foresees that within the next two days, you will encounter a fatal danger. He asks you to be careful."

"Fatal danger?"

Michael Wood was skeptical. Did his boss also moonlight as an astrologer?

"And then, let me introduce two gentlemen to you."

With a clap of Alyssa's hands, a glowing door appeared beside her, and two figures stepped out. Both were middle-aged men—one neatly dressed with handsome features, the other disheveled and looking rakish.

"This is Lind Ames, a legendary level 4 arcane mage and legendary level 2 arcane swordsman; this is White Thomas, a legendary level 2 arcane hunter and level 18 arcane swordsman. They will follow your orders from now on."

When Alyssa said this, her gaze turned cold: "The boss's order to you is: attack! Attack without reservation!"

Michael Wood was momentarily stunned, looking at the two legendary powerhouses before him in surprise.

"They are the boss's subordinates?"

After receiving a confirming look from Alyssa, Michael Wood couldn't help but lean back slightly: "Our boss really surprises me."

Three legends—such strength could already rival a medium-sized conglomerate. And beyond that, the Rising Sun Group also had two legendary-level 'construct puppets.'

This made him faintly excited; his blood and fighting spirit began to boil. Whoever was plotting against their Rising Sun Electrical Retail Company would likely end up breaking their teeth.

"But are you sure, Alyssa? As far as I know, they plan to make a move against the boss in the Adrian Islands. They seem to have mobilized considerable force and are confident of success. Even so, is it okay for the boss to transfer the legends around him?"

"I think it should be fine."

Alyssa Targaryen blinked, recalling the battle that night.

"I think as long as the other side doesn't use demigod-level power, it should be fine. He means you don't need to worry about his situation; just focus on dealing with the Dragon Witch Cult. They must be made to realize that the Rising Sun Group is also a force they can't afford to provoke."

Michael Wood's eyes narrowed, then he let out a laugh: "Then please tell our boss that I know what to do. I guarantee that by the time he returns, this Dragon Witch Cult will be laid out on the table for him to carve up!"
