Chapter 1075: Breaking the Illusion

凡人修仙之仙界篇 · 第一千零七十五章 破幻

Han Li's pupils contracted slightly when he saw the middle-aged man break the Evil-Repelling Divine Lightning with such ease.

But when his gaze fell on the other's face, his heart stirred slightly.

The middle-aged man's features were very unfamiliar; he was certain he had never seen him before, yet for some reason, the man gave him a strange sense of familiarity, as if he had seen him somewhere before.

What Han Li did not notice was that on the other side in the distance, the black-clad youth who was fiercely battling Lei Yuce and Wen Zhong trembled slightly when the middle-aged man appeared, a flicker of excitement in his eyes.

“Tell me, how did you, boy, see through my true form?” the middle-aged man asked slowly, looking at Han Li, but the laziness in his voice was completely gone.

“Who are you, sir? Why set a trap here to harm us?” Han Li countered instead of answering.

“It seems neither of us wants to answer the other's question. How about this: you answer one of my questions, and I'll answer one of yours. What do you say?” the middle-aged man said, narrowing his eyes.

Han Li raised an eyebrow, glanced at Lan Yan and the others fighting nearby, saw they were safe for now, and after a moment's thought, nodded in agreement.

“Since I proposed the method, you may ask first,” the middle-aged man said magnanimously.

“Who are you, sir?” Han Li asked without hesitation after a brief pause.

“I have not appeared in the world for countless millennia. Even if I told you my name, you would not know it. I am merely a prisoner confined here,” the middle-aged man said indifferently.

Han Li frowned at this vague answer, dissatisfied.

But the fact that the man revealed he was a prisoner imprisoned on this floor did resolve one of his doubts.

“I have answered one of your questions. Now it's your turn to answer mine. Who are you people, and how did you come here?” the middle-aged man asked, looking at Han Li.

“We are all from the Gold Origin Immortal Domain. We happened upon the emergence of Tai Sui Immortal Lord's cave dwelling and came here to seek treasures,” Han Li answered vaguely.

“That bastard Tai Sui's cave dwelling has appeared?” the middle-aged man's body shook violently upon hearing this, joy flashing in his eyes as he pressed.

“It seems it's my turn to ask a question now,” Han Li said calmly, his mind racing as he observed the middle-aged man's change in expression.

“Fine, ask away,” the middle-aged man said, a flash of anger crossing his face before he suppressed it, as if remembering something.

“On this floor of the Age Tower, besides you, sir, how many other prisoners are there?” Han Li asked, his eyes glinting.

The middle-aged man did not answer immediately, but after a moment, he burst into loud laughter.

“What are you laughing at, sir?” Han Li said sternly.

“Do you think I would answer such a question?” the middle-aged man retorted, his laughter ceasing.

“So you don't intend to continue the Q&A?” Han Li said, narrowing his eyes.

“I've stalled long enough. Naturally, I won't waste any more words with you. Boy, prepare to die,” the middle-aged man suddenly grinned ferociously, and at the same time, ten thousand gray-white rays shot from his eyes.

Startled, Han Li immediately averted his eyes, and golden light blazed on his body surface.

But whatever he did was futile; the surrounding scenery abruptly changed into a hazy gray-white space.

The nearby palace, Lan Yan, and the others all vanished, and the middle-aged man was nowhere to be seen, hiding somewhere.

“Is this an illusion?” Han Li murmured.

After his initial shock, he quickly calmed down and clenched his fists.

Golden lightning crackled on his body, thunder roared, and a layer of golden electric net emerged, then condensed into a suit of lightning armor, making him look like a thunder god descending.

Han Li then flicked his sleeve, and with another thunderclap, thirty-six golden flying swords appeared.

He formed hand seals, and the thirty-six Azure Bamboo Cloudswarm Swords blazed with golden lightning, emitting dazzling golden arcs that burst with intense lightning laws.

“Go!” Han Li pressed his hands into the void.

The thirty-six Azure Bamboo Cloudswarm Swords shot out explosively, turning into thirty-six blinding golden lightning bolts that slashed toward the surrounding gray-white space.

With a tearing sound, thirty-six slashes appeared in the gray-white space.

But the gray-white space flashed and immediately restored itself.

Han Li's expression darkened as he prepared to do something else.

At that moment, the entire gray-white space suddenly brightened, and the dazzling gray-white light made it hard for him to keep his eyes open; he closed them slightly.

But the golden lightning armor on him flared with intense light, and the thirty-six Azure Bamboo Cloudswarm Swords flew back like lightning, swirling around him, emitting sharp sword qi in all directions.

The dazzling light vanished as quickly as it came. Han Li opened his eyes, and his expression changed drastically.

The surrounding gray-white space remained the same, unchanged, but his body was now firmly bound to a bronze pillar, his hands and feet locked by thick bronze rings, unable to move.

And the golden lightning armor on him, along with the Azure Bamboo Cloudswarm Swords around him, had all disappeared.

“This…” Han Li was shocked. He let out a low shout, and nine hundred and more acupoint lights appeared on his body surface as he strained with all his might to break free.

But the bronze rings and pillars on his body did not tremble in the slightest, still firmly locking him in place.

"This is impossible!" Han Li exclaimed.

With his current physical strength, even if this bronze pillar were the most formidable immortal artifact, it should not have remained completely unresponsive under his full struggle.

With a dull "boom," a mass of blazing flame suddenly emerged above the bronze pillar, and the originally cool pillar instantly turned red-hot.

Han Li's skin and flesh were instantly scorched black, emitting wisps of green smoke, as if his body's formidable defensive power had suddenly vanished.

An excruciating pain, as if his soul were being burned by flames, assailed him, and even Han Li, with his iron will, could not help but grunt.

Before he could focus on enduring the pain from the fiery pillar behind him, the void before him flickered, and countless gray-white blades materialized, densely packed, their number unknown.

With a series of sharp "hissing" sounds, all the gray-white blades stabbed down fiercely.

Han Li's expression changed drastically. Golden light blazed from his body, and the True Word Wheel emerged behind him, emitting countless golden ripples that surged in all directions, enveloping an area nearly a thousand zhang around him.

But neither the bronze pillar behind him nor the surrounding gray-white blades were affected in the slightest by the True Word Wheel.

Countless blades continued to descend without any delay, piercing into various parts of Han Li's body.

Han Li could no longer endure and let out a painful scream.

He now realized that he had fallen into an enemy illusion, one of extremely high caliber, where his five senses and spiritual perception were completely manipulated.

He had never seen such a terrifying illusion that could nearly breach the boundary between reality and illusion.

Along with the bone-deep pain, streams of law power, ever-changing and like illusory mist, also transmitted from the blades, enveloping Han Li's form.

But at that moment, golden light flickered around Han Li, and a surge of time law power emanated from his body, as if sensing the foreign invasion, it rose to meet it on its own.

This time, the mist-like law power could no longer ignore the time power and was thus repelled.

Yet blades continued to fall around him, piercing his body, and the intense pain directly breached his soul's defenses.

Streams of shifting law power, accompanied by this pain, invaded his mind.

A faint gray-white light began to appear in Han Li's eyes, and his mind started to grow hazy.

A series of attacks came like raging waves and furious thunder, swift as lightning, leaving no gap, and even Han Li, with his firm resolve, was momentarily stunned, and a sense of defeat welled up deep within him, making him want to give up resistance.

At that moment, the powerful divine sense in his mind suddenly surged, and the Art of Refining the Spirit activated automatically.

A crystalline sword shadow materialized in his mind, radiating a sharp and unmatched sword intent.

The sense of defeat in Han Li's heart was instantly torn apart by the sharp sword intent, and he regained clarity.

He suddenly snapped awake, a layer of cold sweat forming on his forehead.

Enduring the relentless bone-deep pain, Han Li narrowed his eyes, a resolute look flashing within them. Golden light blazed from his body as he prepared to activate the power of the Great Five Elements Illusion World Art to completely destroy this gray-white space.

But at that moment, the gray-white space suddenly trembled without any warning, and a loud humming sound arose.

With a "pop" sound!

A colossal blood-colored blade shadow appeared, spanning the sky, piercing the gray-white space, and emitting an earth-shattering aura of murderous intent and devouring power.

Han Li felt a chill run from his head to his feet, and it seemed as if invisible arms were pulling at the soul in his mind, trying to shoot out and merge into the blood-colored blade shadow.

"This blade shadow is!" Han Li activated the Art of Refining the Spirit, immediately suppressing the agitation of his soul. His pupils contracted as he instantly recognized the origin of the blood-colored blade shadow.

If he was not mistaken, this blood-colored blade shadow was precisely the Heavenly Fox Blood-Transforming Blade!

The colossal blood-colored blade shadow spanning the sky then slashed down fiercely, tearing the gray-white space apart, which shattered into countless gray-white light clusters that scattered.

Han Li's vision blurred, and his figure reappeared above the collapsed palace.

The Green Bamboo蜂 Cloud Swords were still around him, not vanished, and even the golden lightning armor on his body remained.

A thousand zhang away, the green-robed middle-aged man stood with a surprised expression, looking at the black-clothed youth not far from him.

The black-clothed youth held a blood-red long blade in his hand, its blood-red blade light flickering, easily cutting through the void ahead—it was the Heavenly Fox Blood-Transforming Blade.

Moreover, Richma had somehow appeared on the battlefield and was now locked in fierce combat with the black-clothed woman.

Around Richma, four or five hundred-zhang-long white wind dragons coiled and danced, spewing sheets of white, misty wind blades that rained down on the black-clothed woman.

These white wind blades seemed ordinary but were astonishingly powerful, tearing through the void as if it were paper, leaving cracks wherever they passed.

Behind the black-clothed woman floated a dark red circular wheel shadow, on which six pitch-black holes were arranged in a hexagonal plum blossom pattern, embedded in the wheel.

The wheel shadow spun rapidly, and a terrifying law fluctuation surged from the six pitch-black holes, easily blocking those white wind blades. Then, with a flash of dark red light, it crushed them effortlessly, no matter how fiercely Richma attacked, he could not cross that line.

As for Lan Yan and the others, their eyes were now a uniform gray-white, clearly under control like Lei Yuce and the rest, but they stood aside without making a move.

Han Li looked at the black-clothed man and woman, a strange light flickering in his eyes, and he immediately guessed most of what had just happened.
