Chapter 668: Turbulent Flow
凡人修仙之仙界篇 · 第六百六十八章 乱流
"It seems we can't go on ahead..." Han Li murmured to himself, his gaze凝凝.
With that, he turned and walked down the arch bridge.
But the moment he lifted his foot, the half-arch bridge beneath him suddenly shook and began to tremble continuously.
Han Li whirled around and saw that from the massive black fissure behind him came waves of intense spatial fluctuations that made his heart pound. Its edges began to slowly expand, like a sky-devouring mouth, swallowing toward the bridge.
His heart tightened. He immediately tapped his foot, shot forward, and landed beside the stone lion at the bridgehead.
However, when he turned back to look, the strange commotion had stopped, and the slightly expanded fissure seemed to stabilize again.
"Could it be... that the True Word Sect ruins are still undergoing continuous spatial collapse?" Han Li pondered silently.
If so, he would need to be even more cautious when searching the ruins later.
Just then, a sudden change occurred!
Beneath the stone lion beside him, a strange fluctuation suddenly emerged. Then, a black vortex over ten zhang in radius materialized out of thin air, expanding continuously, emitting waves of extremely powerful attraction.
Alert, Han Li quickly activated the Truthful Word Wheel within him, intending to escape, but found his feet firmly stuck by a powerful spatial force, unable to break free.
"Damn..."
Han Li's expression changed. He quickly expanded his Time Domain, and with a flash of purple-gold light, golden scales emerged on his skin, and a suit of dark green armor from the Black Tortoise bloodline covered his body.
But before he could summon the Azure Bamboo Cloudswarm Swords, the tearing force beneath him suddenly surged, pulling him and the stone lion into the vortex.
In an instant, Han Li felt his feet lose ground, and he appeared in a gray-black space.
With a loud "boom,"
the stone lion that had fallen into the spatial rift with Han Li was swept by a whirlwind shrouded in gray light, instantly shattering into dust and vanishing.
Knowing he had been pulled into a spatial rift, Han Li dared not relax. With purple light flickering in his eyes, he carefully surveyed his surroundings.
At the same time, he flipped both hands, producing the nine-in-one Azure Bamboo Cloudswarm Swords and the emerald Xuantian Gourd, on high alert.
"Whoosh, whoosh..."
Gales howled from all around. Wherever he looked, he saw clusters of gray-white spatial vortices and cracks of varying lengths, scattered chaotically, extremely unstable.
Far in the void, he could see landmasses of different sizes, as if wrapped in invisible transparent bubbles, floating in the gaps between spatial cracks and vortices.
Some larger landmasses seemed relatively stable, while smaller ones, under the pressure and tearing of surrounding spatial cracks, were visibly disintegrating.
"Boom!"
Just then, a deafening roar came from the distant void.
Han Li's heart tightened. He turned to see a massive gray-white vortex tearing at the surrounding space, madly sweeping toward him.
Where it passed, space trembled violently, and the intense spatial fluctuations distorted the surrounding darkness. Nearby spatial cracks could not hold and were pulled into the vortex.
"Oh no, this is... a spatial storm!"
Han Li lamented his misfortune. Being inexplicably dragged into a spatial rift was bad enough, but now he had encountered a spatial storm.
Though his physical body was quite strong, he dared not face such spatial power head-on.
He glanced at the nearest floating landmass, decided not to stay, steeled himself, and secretly reversed the Truthful Word Wheel, moving toward it.
With so many spatial cracks around, Han Li dared not accelerate too much, moving cautiously and slowly.
After flying about a thousand zhang, he paused briefly, looked back at the spatial storm, and his expression turned extremely grim.
The gray-white vortex, which had been only ten thousand zhang in radius, had now swelled to tens of thousands of zhang. Though not heading directly toward him, its expansion increasingly destabilized the already unstable space.
If he could not reach the landmass before the vortex affected him, he would be slowly pulled into the vortex and crushed.
If he died here, not only would his body be obliterated, but even his Nascent Soul and spirit would completely dissipate under the gale.
"No time to worry about too much..."
Han Li muttered inwardly, expanded his domain several times, and suddenly accelerated, turning into a golden streak darting through the void.
Tens of thousands of zhang, thousands of zhang, a thousand zhang...
As the landmass grew closer and its features enlarged, Han Li could even smell the vegetation. His heart was in his throat.
A little more, just a little more...
Just as he was about to reach the edge of the landmass, a loud "boom" erupted.
The massive spatial storm suddenly exploded, with a dazzling white light at its center. Countless gray-white blades shot out in all directions.
These blades varied in size, some hundreds of zhang long, others mere inches, all carrying wild and primal spatial power of unpredictable might.
Sensing the change, Han Li's expression grew even uglier. He had no time to turn, only to accelerate madly toward the landmass.
Just then, intense spatial fluctuations came from behind.
"Bang, bang, bang!"
Han Li's heart tightened. Before he could react, several explosions sounded behind him. His Time Domain was struck by several gray-white blades, unable to slow them down, and was twisted and torn apart, dissipating.
With a roar, Han Li dove recklessly toward the landmass.
With a heavy "boom,"
his body slammed into an invisible but extremely tough spatial barrier, unable to pass through, and was heavily bounced back.
Han Li grunted. Before he could fly toward the landmass again, a three-foot-long gray-white blade shot toward his back.
In that critical moment, he had no time to think. He thrust the Xuantian Gourd behind him and quickly formed hand seals to activate it.
The emerald gourd shone brightly, a vortex appeared at its mouth, and with a soft "puff," it sucked the gray-white blade inside.
Han Li gripped the gourd, feeling a huge impact that nearly tore it from his hand.
Having gained a brief respite, he dared not waste it. He accelerated again toward the landmass.
Just then, a sharp burning pain shot through his palm.
Looking down, he saw the emerald gourd in his hand had turned red-hot like a piece of iron, trembling as if about to explode.
With a thought, Han Li put away the Azure Bamboo Cloudswarm Swords, raised a hand, and slapped the bottom of the Xuantian Gourd hard.
With a soft "bang," the gray-white blade that had been sucked in shot out, heading straight for the spatial barrier around the landmass.
"Boom!"
A heaven-shaking roar sounded. A narrow gap like a spatial rift appeared in the space outside the landmass, only a few zhang long, very unstable, and seemingly about to disappear.
Han Li dared not miss this chance. He reversed the Truthful Word Wheel to the extreme, flashed, and shot into the gap.
The next moment, he fell like a meteor toward the ground, crashing heavily onto a mountain peak with a "boom," shattering rocks and raising dust.
But then, with a "whoosh," Han Li flew out from the debris.
Hovering in midair, he watched the slowly closing gap above and let out a long breath, his heart still pounding with fear.
The scene just now was too dangerous. If he had reacted a split second slower or lacked the Xuantian Gourd, he would have been in big trouble.
It seemed the seemingly calm True Word Sect ruins were still fraught with danger. He had been a bit careless.
After a moment, he slowly descended to a shady spot under green trees and sat down against a grotesque rock.
He raised the Xuantian Gourd, feeling residual heat in his palm but no longer the burning pain. The red color on the gourd was slowly fading, returning to its original emerald hue.
After a brief inspection, he released his divine sense into it and found that aside from some chaotic spiritual power, the immortal artifacts including the Azure Bamboo Cloudswarm Swords were unharmed.
Somewhat relieved, he put away the gourd, took out a pill, swallowed it, and closed his eyes to meditate.
About half an hour later, he opened his eyes, and his aura stabilized.
Standing up, Han Li stretched and began to look around. He soon noticed that the surrounding forest was filled with strange rocks, extending beyond the woods.
"Where is this? Could it be another part of the ruins?"
With questions, Han Li walked out along the strange rocks.
