Chapter 026: Pure Yin Ground

获得主角能力的我只想过平凡生活 · 第026章 纯阴之地

Wang Bo looked at White Impermanence with a gloomy expression. "Are you reminding me that I actually have no choice, right?"

White Impermanence remained silent but smiled brightly.

She had already seen that Wang Bo cared deeply about the mortal world, so he would never sit by and let the worst happen. Thus, in this confrontation, she had won.

Wang Bo stared at her for a long moment, then suddenly sighed. "You're right. You win."

White Impermanence's smile grew even more triumphant.

But the next second, Wang Bo suddenly threw a punch!

Bang!

The surging fist force was like a pouring Milky Way, a bursting dam, a monstrous wave that could shatter the sky and earth. No one could survive the onslaught of this power.

Not even Black Impermanence.

So when this irresistible fist force struck Black Impermanence, it blasted him into pieces. The vast yin energy exploded and then gradually dissipated.

Black Impermanence's projection in the mortal world was blown apart by Wang Bo's punch. White Impermanence's expression instantly stiffened.

Wang Bo said calmly, "I think one person is enough to find the Zombie King. What do you think?"

White Impermanence's stiff expression gradually softened, and she nodded obediently. "Yes, I think so too."

If the real Black Impermanence were standing here, White Impermanence would have fought Wang Bo to the death without hesitation. But Black Impermanence was merely a projection, and even she, White Impermanence, was also a projection.

Having a projection blown up was really not a big deal for them.

So White Impermanence had no reason to fight to the death.

Wang Bo snapped his fingers, retracted the Heavenly Lock, and released White Impermanence. "Now, where do we find the Zombie King?"

White Impermanence rubbed her wrist; when the Heavenly Lock had bound her, she had almost thought her wrist bones would crack. "The Zombie King is a cautious fellow. It took us a great deal of effort back then to find his lair. He likes to hide in Pure Yin Ground."

Pure Yin Ground?

That was a clue. After all, the Zombie King was a zombie; it was not surprising that he liked Pure Yin Ground. Moreover, such places were generally not hard to find. There were only a few Pure Yin Grounds in the world.

Searching them one by one would eventually lead to the Zombie King.

"Alright, let's set off," Wang Bo urged.

White Impermanence said, "Follow me."

She had been in the mortal world for some time and had already traveled across its mountains and rivers. She knew exactly where the Pure Yin Grounds were.

This time, she led Wang Bo toward the nearest Pure Yin Ground.

None of them were ordinary people. The weakest, White Impermanence, was still a Yin God. Traveling from the eastern sea to the western wilderness in a single morning was basic for them.

Once they got serious, their speed could instantly increase to ten times the speed of sound, or even faster.

Traveling across all the mountains and rivers in a single day was no problem.

Wang Bo followed White Impermanence, and after just over ten minutes, they arrived at the first Pure Yin Ground.

But when they entered and searched around several times, they found no trace of the Zombie King.

Then they left and continued searching for Pure Yin Grounds.

Next came the second, third, fourth... but after searching seven or eight Pure Yin Grounds, Wang Bo still hadn't found the Zombie King.

Finally, at the ninth Pure Yin Ground, near the ancient battlefield of Changping, White Impermanence led Wang Bo to a tomb. After crawling inside, they found a cemetery filled with bones and a pervasive corpse aura.

White Impermanence's spirits lifted, and she transmitted to Wang Bo, "Be careful. I've found the Zombie King's aura here."

Wang Bo nodded and followed White Impermanence deeper. They advanced through the spacious cemetery, passing corridor after corridor, until they reached the main chamber of the tomb.

In the center of the chamber stood a coffin.

But the coffin lid had long been opened, lying discarded on the ground.

The coffin was empty, with no sign of the Zombie King.

White Impermanence walked around and shook her head. "This is where the Zombie King used to hide, but he's already left. This guy is more cunning than we imagined."

Wang Bo circled the coffin, raised his hand, and cast a spell. A light bloomed at the tip of his right finger, enveloped the coffin, then burst into countless specks of light that covered the entire chamber.

Immediately, scenes from the past unfolded before Wang Bo and the others.

The ancient tomb chamber had been silent, but somehow, a commotion arose from the coffin, accompanied by a creaking sound.

Then the coffin lid was blasted open by some force, tumbling dozens of times in the air before landing on the ground with a thud.

A pale-faced man sat up from the coffin.

The man had thick, jet-black hair, a handsome face, and skin like jade. He looked like a graceful young noble from the court, not a zombie.

But when White Impermanence saw this, she immediately told Wang Bo, "That's the Zombie King."

Wang Bo said, "He's quite good-looking."

White Impermanence said, "Legend has it that this Zombie King was a peerlessly handsome noble in life. After death, a female Taoist who adored him turned him into a zombie, preserving his handsome features. But what the female Taoist never expected was that centuries later, the Zombie King would gain sentience, devour her, and gradually embark on the path of wreaking havoc on the mortal world."

Wang Bo said nothing and continued watching the past images.

After waking up, the Zombie King looked around, seemed to notice something, and revealed a delighted smile.

He did not leave the chamber immediately but instead settled down there.

However, every so often, the Zombie King would leave the chamber and take a stroll outside.

But each time he returned, he brought back a human. Then he would cut open his wrist and feed his zombie blood into the human's body.

Some of these humans were alive, some were dead.

But after drinking the Zombie King's blood, without exception, they all turned into pools of blood.

This greatly troubled the Zombie King.

White Impermanence, however, understood. "This guy is trying to perfect his Thousand Change Puppet Threads here."

Wang Bo continued watching.

Hela and Lady Gremory seemed very interested in this matter, watching the past events unfold without blinking, calculating something in their minds.

After more than a dozen failures, the Zombie King still did not give up, showing great persistence.

Finally, on the thirteenth attempt, he brought back a corpse.

Wang Bo found it very familiar.

Because the corpse was none other than the master of the Divine Sword Manor, Xie Wangsun!

Seeing Xie Wangsun appear, Wang Bo knew the Zombie King's experiment was about to succeed.
