Chapter 005: The Friendship of Pirates
获得主角能力的我只想过平凡生活 · 第005章 海贼们的友谊
Inside the bar.
The first mate, navigator, and crew members of the Kid Pirates saw their captain effortlessly subdued by a bar owner, who hadn't even moved a step.
This left all of them in disbelief.
Their captain was a Supernova, yet he was so easily defeated by the enemy.
Who was this bar owner? Could he be a powerhouse on the level of the Three Admirals?
After dealing with Eustass, Wang Bo looked up at his crew. Instantly, everyone tensed up, trembling as they watched Wang Bo, fearing an invisible attack.
They had clearly seen their captain struck by an invisible force and brought to his knees.
They didn't want to follow suit.
But they all knew that this invisible attack was extremely troublesome. Even their captain had fallen for it; they had no confidence in dodging it.
Wang Bo stared at them expressionlessly, neither attacking nor letting them leave, adding an invisible pressure that suffocated every pirate present.
Under this pressure, the first mate of the Kid Pirates suddenly fell to his knees with a thud, bowed his head to the ground, and said loudly, "For the offense against you, I will repay with my life. Please spare my crew, I beg you."
Wang Bo raised an eyebrow. The world of One Piece had a very interesting aspect.
Although pirates plundered and committed all kinds of atrocities, most of them surprisingly valued their comrades; few treated their crew as expendable.
Doflamingo, though a scoundrel, regarded his crew as family.
Gecko Moria's subordinates were loyal and respectful, addressing him as "Master," and lower-ranking ones dared not even speak his name.
Thus, Gecko Moria was not unkind to his crew, or else he wouldn't have earned their respect.
Boa Hancock was proud, willful, and deeply contemptuous of others. She would kick small animals in her path, threw the former ruler of Amazon Lily out the window, and personally destroyed statues children gave her.
Yet she never treated her crew as expendable; she even became a Warlord to protect her country.
Red-Haired Shanks needed no mention; he saw all his crew as subordinates and friends.
Whitebeard regarded his crew as his own children.
Kaido was moody, sometimes weeping, sometimes raging. He loved drinking and was keen on recruiting fighters; he welcomed those who wanted to join him and never had enough of a strong army.
As long as his subordinates were loyal, he never laid a hand on them.
Big Mom, Charlotte Linlin, had crew members who were mostly her children, bound by blood, which she believed was the strongest bond.
But the problem was that Charlotte Linlin suffered from hunger pangs, which would strike from time to time. When they did, she would go into a frenzy, smashing and destroying everything around her.
During an episode, she would lose all sense of kinship, even killing her own son, and would not listen to anyone.
Moreover, when the pangs hit, her combat intelligence dropped to zero; she wouldn't dodge or defend, only attacking wildly. The only way to restore her sanity was to feed her the food she craved.
Besides them, there were Luffy, Trafalgar Law, the Happo Navy, and others—all pirates who valued their crew.
So Wang Bo was not surprised by the first mate's plea.
Compared to the world of One Piece, where comradeship was valued, the pirates of the Caribbean were not so united.
In that world, betrayal among pirates was commonplace.
Take the most obvious example.
Jack Sparrow, the protagonist of the Pirates of the Caribbean world, was a typical case. As captain of the Black Pearl, he was marooned by his first mate, Barbossa, right from the start.
If not for luck, he would have been dead by now.
In the subsequent story, he and Barbossa were locked in a love-hate relationship, constantly stabbing each other in the back.
Both Elizabeth and Will Turner had betrayed him.
Especially Elizabeth Swann, who at the end of the second film, tricked him, leading to Jack Sparrow being devoured by Davy Jones's sea monster and sent to the world's end.
Thus, although both worlds were rife with pirates,
their customs and sentiments were completely different.
The first mate of the Kid Pirates knelt and begged, willing to trade his life for Wang Bo's mercy on his crew—their bond was undoubtedly strong.
But the problem was, no matter how genuine their camaraderie, it didn't change the fact that the Kid Pirates were a band of pirates.
Wang Bo swept his gaze over them; every single one had blood on their hands, none were innocent.
So in response to the first mate's plea, Wang Bo only said one thing.
"Did you spare the innocent villagers who knelt before you and begged for mercy?"
The first mate of the Kid Pirates fell silent.
Seeing that Wang Bo wouldn't let them off, the pirates erupted in anger and charged at him.
Since death was inevitable either way, they might as well fight.
The first mate, who had been kneeling, led the charge, closing in on Wang Bo at incredible speed, his scythe slicing through the air toward Wang Bo's head.
Facing their attack, Wang Bo smiled and swept out his telekinesis. Every single one of them was frozen mid-air, unable to move.
Then Wang Bo snapped his fingers. With a crisp crack, the pirates' limbs were twisted, none left intact.
Wang Bo had originally intended to break their necks, but considering that might scare the other customers and shut down the bar, he only broke their limbs.
Though the customers were already terrified.
After all, they were just ordinary dockworkers; how could they have witnessed such an unbelievable scene?
Such a battle would frighten ordinary people even in a world like One Piece, let alone in the Caribbean.
After a brief moment of silence, all the customers screamed and scrambled out of the bar.
Judging by the fear on their faces, Wang Bo figured they were unlikely to return.
At this, Wang Bo couldn't help but click his tongue. He summoned his butler, Malthus, and pointed at the pirates on the floor. "These are yours to deal with."
Wang Bo didn't feel the least bit cruel using their souls to feed the demon.
