Chapter 037: The Battle Begins

"My name is Wang Bo. I'm a friend of Athena's," Wang Bo said softly.

He asked cautiously, "May I ask, milord, are you also a deity?"

"No," Wang Bo shook his head.

Neptune was about to ask more, but Wang Bo raised a hand to stop him. "Don't speak now. Watch the clash of the two gods. It concerns the future of your Fish-Man Island."

Neptune shuddered and became extremely vigilant.

Poseidon said angrily, "Everyone on Mount Olympus knows that the sea is my domain. How dare you come to my territory to spread your faith, Athena? Don't make excuses."

Athena said calmly, "That's right, Poseidon, my dear uncle. Everyone on Mount Olympus knows you are the lord of the seas, the true sea god. The king of the gods, my father, promised the sea to you."

Poseidon grew even angrier. "Then why are you spreading your faith in my domain?"

Athena replied with a smile, "Poseidon, you are the ruler of the seas, but only in our world. No god has decreed that the seas of another world belong to you."

Poseidon's eyes flickered a few times. "There is no other world's sea. This is my sea."

"Then I can make a concession," Athena said. "I won't set foot in this sea, but I want to take Fish-Man Island. This island doesn't belong to you."

"Don't even think about it!" Poseidon's rage flared, and a storm seemed to brew in the depths of the sea. "Fish-Man Island appears in the depths of the sea, so it's mine. Everything in the sea belongs to me."

Athena burst into laughter. "My uncle, you really are greedy. Everything in the sea belongs to you? Do you want to devour another world? Do you think the gods of Olympus will allow that?"

Poseidon knew full well that the gods of Olympus would never allow it, but this was his chance to overthrow Zeus and ascend to the throne of the king of gods.

He was unwilling to give it up.

"Enough talk, Athena. You're not taking Fish-Man Island today."

"Then I'll make another concession. I'll only spread my name on Fish-Man Island, how about that, my dear uncle?" Athena stepped back, seemingly afraid of Poseidon.

But Poseidon knew that Athena was not afraid of him. Her words were merely a retreat to advance.

"Drop your despicable tricks, Athena. Even if you talk until the sky falls, I won't let you spread your faith on my turf."

"Now, my dear niece, I'll give you only one choice."

"Get out of Fish-Man Island and out of the sea immediately, and maybe I'll let you off."

Athena raised her hand, and a long spear appeared in it, while a shield materialized on her left arm. She stared majestically at Poseidon. "Then let's settle this with strength, Poseidon."

Poseidon was undaunted and laughed heartily. "Did your last victory give you such confidence, my dear niece, that you dare to fight me?"

As Poseidon spoke, his body shrank rapidly, becoming human-sized in an instant, and a trident appeared in his hand.

Athena said to Wang Bo, "Protect Fish-Man Island."

With that, she vanished and reappeared outside Fish-Man Island, thrusting her spear at Poseidon's heart.

Poseidon was not to be outdone. He swung his trident, blocking Athena's spear.
