Chapter 028: One Game Decides Victory or Defeat
获得主角能力的我只想过平凡生活 · 第028章 一局定输赢
Boom!
With a sound that shook the universe, the battle between Wang Bo and Silver Superman resumed.
Wang Bo's attempt to seek peace failed, so he went all out, each punch capable of destroying a galaxy.
Although his evolution had failed, at least both his arms had turned golden. Though this power was temporarily elevated by the Infinity Gauntlet, it was still genuine strength.
If not for his lack of experience in such battles and unfamiliarity with his rapidly enhanced abilities, he would have already defeated Silver Superman.
For now, the two remained evenly matched.
In fact, Wang Bo had a slight edge.
But he still couldn't overcome Silver Superman.
However, as time passed, Wang Bo was gradually getting used to his power and abilities. Perhaps in three to five years, he could suppress Silver Superman.
After a hundred years, Wang Bo would be able to defeat Silver Superman.
For ordinary people, this was undoubtedly a long time, but for someone like Wang Bo, a hundred years meant nothing.
Silver Superman also noticed this, so his attacks came like a storm, trying to finish Wang Bo as quickly as possible. If he dragged it out, he would surely lose.
But what frustrated him was that Wang Bo's Infinity Gauntlet was simply too powerful.
He had tried one method after another, yet still couldn't defeat Wang Bo.
Wang Bo was in the same boat. Though he had a slight advantage, suppressing Silver Superman was too troublesome, after all, the latter was a genuine Silver Superman.
Wang Bo had only temporarily raised his power to the level of Silver Superman. Even though his arms had turned golden, he still couldn't defeat Silver Superman.
Silver Superman was just too strong.
They fought all the way, shattering the dead zone of the universe.
This star system no longer had even a single planet.
The stars couldn't withstand their punches either; basically, any tangible matter was destroyed by the two.
From a speck of dust to a planet, nothing could escape their clutches.
After a bout of fighting, the dead zone had become utterly dead.
Within a radius of hundreds of thousands of light-years, there was nothing.
But even so, the two had yet to decide the outcome, and it was still far from being settled.
To be honest, Wang Bo had never experienced such a prolonged battle. Even his fight with Odin hadn't been this long.
Though he didn't feel tired, he thought it was rather foolish to spend a hundred years defeating an enemy.
He simply couldn't understand why Nemesis, the Goddess of Revenge, and Perpetua, the Dark Goddess, had fought for so long, still undecided to this day.
Wang Bo had been fighting for a month. Though he could endure, he was indeed getting bored.
At the same time, not only Wang Bo but also Silver Superman had similar thoughts.
When Silver Superman fought, he always overwhelmed his opponents, even someone like Darkseid could be crushed.
He had never fought such a prolonged battle.
Moreover, the two were evenly matched; even if one held a slight advantage, the other, with rich experience and pure skill, would require a long battle to determine the victor.
Just then, a flash of inspiration struck him, and he said, "If we keep fighting like this, we're only wasting time. Besides, every time we destroy a galaxy and kill lives, it's a huge hassle to repair them. So I have a proposal."
"What proposal?" Wang Bo asked warily.
"We each release a sliver of consciousness into another universe, pick a person to reincarnate into, and fight using the power of that universe. Whoever can kill the other's consciousness wins, and the loser must concede."
Silver Superman offered a solution. Wang Bo thought it over and did not refuse.
"I agree, but before that, I must ask: do you want to settle it in one round, or best of three?"
"One round decides it," Silver Superman said slowly.
"Fine." Wang Bo agreed. "Then, what kind of universe should we pick?"
"Random." Silver Superman released a wisp of consciousness, leaped out of this universe, closed his eyes, and casually tossed it into the depths of chaos.
Wang Bo was not to be outdone; he split off a wisp of consciousness and threw it after the other.
The two consciousnesses entered a universe almost simultaneously.
Wang Bo and Silver Superman exchanged a glance and returned to the Star Wars universe.
Just then, Wang Bo suddenly said, "What if our consciousnesses are destroyed by the people of that universe before they even grow up? What then?"
Silver Superman said calmly, "If you die first, you lose; vice versa. What do you think?"
"Fine." Wang Bo nodded.
Then the two returned to their respective territories. Wang Bo returned to the Imperial Palace on Coruscant, the heart of the Galactic Empire.
Silver Superman returned to the Rebel Alliance base on Hoth.
Both waited for the outcome of the first round.
…
Meanwhile, in another universe far away.
After Wang Bo's wisp of consciousness entered this universe, it did not reincarnate but played a trick: it took over the body of a dying man.
He did not plan to grow from childhood but to occupy an adult body, then find Superman's reincarnation and kill it, securing his first victory.
This was not cheating; it was allowed by the rules.
Superman could do the same.
But unfortunately, Silver Superman was still a righteous Clark, a goody-two-shoes, so he probably wouldn't think of such a cheating idea.
Sorry, but in this round, I have at least a seventy percent chance.
After Wang Bo entered the body of a dying man, he clearly saw that the man's body was in terrible shape. Though intact, at least a third of his bones were shattered.
Moreover, his internal organs were hemorrhaging, his organs were failing, and he could die at any moment.
More importantly, the soul inside this body was tottering, ready to leave at any time.
When Wang Bo entered, the man was already on his deathbed, but he still sensed an uninvited guest within his body.
"Who... are... you?" the man asked weakly, dragging out his words.
Wang Bo did not answer his question but instead asked, "Do you have any last wishes?"
Since he had taken over this man's body, he naturally had to help him fulfill his final wishes. This was Wang Bo's last mercy.
