Chapter 055: How Can a Dead Man Answer You
获得主角能力的我只想过平凡生活 · 第055章 死人怎么回应你
Since Konoha had still sent the contract over, Wang Bo didn't stand on ceremony. After glancing at it and seeing no major changes, he picked up a pen and wrote down his name.
Then Wang Bo tossed the contract back to Hatake Kakashi.
"Alright, you can go back now."
Hatake Kakashi took the contract, nodded slightly at Wang Bo, and vanished from the spot in an instant, along with his two companions.
Satō Ken's pupils contracted several times. He was one of the first kids to follow Wang Bo, and his strength had grown faster than anyone else's.
But even so, he still hadn't noticed how Hatake Kakashi had left; the man's speed far exceeded his own.
Konoha really is formidable, he couldn't help thinking. But the next second, Satō Ken calmed down. He knew Konoha was strong, but he firmly believed he could surpass all of Konoha's ninja and become one of the大人's sturdiest shields.
In that resolve, he would not lose to anyone.
Meanwhile, Bai showed no reaction at all. Though Konoha's people were strong, he knew the大人 was even stronger.
So he didn't dwell on it; after all, he was merely a blade for the大人.
…
That night, after Wang Bo fell asleep, three uninvited guests arrived at his base.
These three intruders slipped quietly into Wang Bo's room without alerting the kids in the base, demonstrating solid fundamentals as they crept close to Wang Bo.
One of them, upon reaching Wang Bo, struck him with a knife-hand.
Wang Bo grunted and fell unconscious.
Then the other two took out a bag, stuffed Wang Bo inside, and stealthily left the room, melting into the night and departing the base.
The whole process was easy and effortless, without alarming anyone.
The kids patrolling the base noticed nothing unusual.
Inside the cloth bag, Wang Bo opened his eyes and cracked a smile. With their skills, those men could never have knocked him out and captured him.
It was all an act. He wanted to see who was kidnapping him, and he planned to give them a big surprise—one he was sure they'd be thrilled about.
On the other hand, Wang Bo hadn't notified the kids at the base when he was taken.
After years of training, those kids seemed to have grown a bit lax, so Wang Bo intended to use this incident to spur them on and make them work harder.
Though many things require a balance of work and rest to be effective, some matters demand relentless progress.
If they lost their drive, even a genius like Kakashi would stagnate.
Hatake Kakashi's father had no Sharingan, yet he was still ferociously powerful.
But after acquiring the Sharingan, Kakashi relied on it to earn the name "Copy Ninja," completely discarding his clan's specialty.
That was truly a pity.
…
After about a day in the bag, Wang Bo felt the group stop. He closed his eyes, feigning unconsciousness.
One of the men opened the bag and woke Wang Bo.
When Wang Bo opened his eyes, he saw the three ninja who had kidnapped him standing behind a man.
The man wore loose clothing, with white bandages covering one eye and one arm—a look all too familiar.
The pot of Konoha, the un-washable Shimura Danzō.
Wang Bo hadn't expected his kidnapper to be this pot king.
Since the Uchiha clan hadn't been wiped out yet, under the white bandages on Danzō's arm there should be no Sharingan, but rather an arm eroded by Hashirama Senju's cells.
There should also be a face of Hashirama Senju on his arm.
To be honest, Wang Bo couldn't appreciate how people in the Naruto world would go to any lengths to get stronger—sticking a face on their body. Didn't they find it disgusting?
Shimura Danzō was like that, and so was Uchiha Madara.
Of course, not appreciating didn't mean he couldn't understand. After all, this was a twisted world where children as young as a few years old had to fight for their lives on the battlefield.
Let alone the others.
To get stronger, putting a face on one's body was nothing.
Wang Bo guessed they'd accept even more disgusting things, as long as they could become stronger.
If anything, blame this twisted world.
After recognizing Shimura Danzō, Wang Bo looked around and saw that this wasn't Konoha but a remote forest. Ahead lay the Valley of the End, where Uchiha Madara and Hashirama Senju had fought.
So this is the place.
Wang Bo realized, looking calmly at Danzō. "Why did you bring me here?"
Danzō studied Wang Bo, narrowing his eyes. "You know me?"
He swore he had never appeared before Wang Bo, yet Wang Bo showed no surprise upon seeing him, as if he recognized him.
But he had lurked in the shadows for decades; even among Konoha's ninja, many didn't know of his existence.
Yet an outsider knew him.
Wang Bo smiled, too lazy to answer. "Just say it—what do you want from me?"
Danzō grew more puzzled, but his gaze flickered as he said slowly, "I need money, a lot of money. I want you to give me all your money."
Wang Bo burst out laughing. "Give you all my money? Keep dreaming."
Danzō laughed too, but coldly. "I knew you wouldn't agree. But it doesn't matter—I'm sure you will."
Just a merchant. Even if he knew of him through covert channels, so what?
He had seen too many fools like this. A little suffering, and they'd be crying and begging for mercy.
Danzō waved his hand, signaling his subordinates to teach this guy a lesson.
But his subordinates didn't move.
Danzō was startled. He turned to see his three men standing still as statues, which infuriated him. "What are you doing?"
"No use yelling. They won't answer you," Wang Bo interrupted, grinning. "Because they're dead. How can a dead man answer you?"
Danzō's heart jolted. Looking closely, he saw a thin red line on his subordinates' necks—barely visible if not examined carefully.
He walked over and tapped one of them. The body crashed to the ground, the head rolling far away.
In an instant, Danzō's heart turned cold.
…
