Chapter 015: The Reason

获得主角能力的我只想过平凡生活 · 第015章 缘由

Not long after the imperial guards arrived, the Sultan and Princess Jasmine came.

The two of them looked at the pitted ground, the shocking cracks, and the tottering palace, their hearts pounding with fear.

Before the two arrived, they had already heard about the great battle between Jafar and the murderer, but they never imagined the scene would be so terrifying. What kind of battle could have destroyed the battlefield to such an extent?

"Jia Fang, what exactly is going on here?" demanded the Sultan.

Wang Bo replied, 'Your Majesty the Sultan, all of this was done by that murderer. He is a terrifying monster, possessing immense strength and ghostly speed. The palace guards are as helpless as infants before him.'

The Sultan was startled and asked warily, "Where is that monster?"

Wang Bo said, "That monster has already been driven away by me."

The Sultan was no fool either, and asked suspiciously, "Since that monster was so terrifying, how did you drive him away?"

Princess Jasmine thought of something and leaned in to whisper into the Sultan's ear.

The Sultan's face could not help but change. "Jafar, you are a sorcerer."

"Yes, Your Majesty the Sultan," Wang Bo replied calmly.

The Sultan looked at Wang Bo, his gaze involuntarily tinged with a hint of wariness. At that moment, he suddenly felt that his minister was so unfamiliar.

He had once thought he had seen through this minister.

But now it seemed that this was merely his own wishful thinking.

From beginning to end, he had never seen through this minister, who not only possessed unfathomable depth but was also an enigmatic sorcerer.

In Arabia, wizards are profoundly mysterious and eerie beings; legend has it that they can summon wind and rain, and take a person's life without their knowledge.

Even the ruler of a country would not want to provoke a troublesome wizard.

But he never expected that his own minister was also a wizard, and more importantly, that a mysterious and unfathomable wizard would be willing to humble himself and serve as a minister in his own country.

What does he want to do?

What did he want to gain?

The Sultan could govern Agrabah in perfect order, making it prosperous and strong, which shows he is not a foolish king—a foolish king could never achieve this.

On the contrary, he was a wise king. After seeing Jafar's performance that evening, he immediately became vigilant.

However, he did not show this vigilance; instead, he said with great concern, "Jafar, that monster was so difficult to deal with. You weren't hurt, were you?"

Wang Bo said, "No."

The Sultan said, “That is truly excellent, Jia Fang. By driving away the monster today, you have undoubtedly rendered a great service. Therefore, I permit you to go to the treasury and select a few items that you fancy.”

Wang Bo nodded and said, "Thank you, Your Majesty the Sultan."

In truth, he had little interest in the treasury of Agrabah; what he had just said was merely a perfunctory remark.

After the Sultan bestowed gifts upon Wang Bo in front of everyone, fearing that the monster might return, he ordered Wang Bo to lead a group of guards to protect the palace.

Wang Bo naturally knew that Dracula would not return, because in the battle just now, he believed Dracula had already understood the gap between them.

As long as Dracula is not a fool, it is impossible for him to return.

But he did not decline the Sultan's order; instead, he readily agreed.

After seeing off the Sultan, Wang Bo ordered the palace guards to continue patrolling, while he himself quietly waited on the highest watchtower of the palace.

Hour after hour passed.

Around two o'clock in the morning.

A woman stealthily climbed up to the lookout platform. Wang Bo lifted his head, closed the book of sorcery knowledge in his hands, looked at the woman who had just come up, and smiled slightly.

"I have been waiting for you for a long time, my queen."

This woman who had sneaked up was the queen of Agrabah, and also the Anna Valeris whom Dracula had spoken of.

A woman from another world.

"You knew I was coming?" the queen asked, somewhat surprised.

Wang Bo said calmly, "If our positions were reversed, and I came to a strange world and met a woman who could send me home, I would come to you too."

The queen suddenly understood and asked curiously, "You really can send me home."

Wang Bo extended his hand and said, "Take my hand, and I can send you home."

The queen did not immediately reach out her hand, but instead said, "Have you already sent Dracula back?"

"No," Wang Bo said. "I accidentally let him get away."

"Then I won't go back either," the queen said instinctively. "I can't just leave him be. I must kill him—that is our mission for the Villeris family."

Wang Bo was taken aback. He knew of Dracula, but from the man's stride he recognized the Villeris family.

"What is your relationship with Dracula?"

"He is my ancestor!" said the queen, shocking Wang Bo.

"Are you sure?" Wang Bo had never heard that Dracula had descendants. In many worlds, Dracula did have a wife and daughter, but they were all dead, weren't they?

Even in many worlds, it was precisely because of the death of his wife and daughter that Dracula cursed God and became the progenitor of vampires.

“Yes, I am absolutely certain.” The queen nodded affirmatively, and after a moment of silence, added, “If you don’t mind my rambling, I can tell you the whole story from beginning to end.”

Wang Bo did not refuse. "The night is long, you have a story, and I have coffee."

With that, she tossed a bottle of coffee over.

The queen took the coffee, opened the lid, and took a gulp. Clearly, she was no stranger to this beverage.

Then, the queen slowly began to speak.

She came from the late nineteenth century of another world, the last descendant of the Villeris family.

And this fellow was a vampire hunter, generation after generation.

And all of this originated four hundred and fifty years ago, when a knight from Transylvania, Villeris, swore to God that he would destroy vampires, or else his family would not be allowed into heaven.

And the vampire in this Knight Valerius's oath was Dracula.

Only by killing Dracula could the souls of the knights of the Veleris family ascend to heaven.

But unfortunately, he failed. And his descendants also failed.

Several hundred years passed, and this family fell into a crisis of extinction, because Anna Valerious was already the last descendant of this family.

She once had a brother, but unfortunately, after he was captured by the vampire Dracula, his fate was grim.

So, she was the last heir of the Villeris family. Just as Anna was about to despair, a man came to the city where she lived, wanting to help her fight against Dracula.

And this man, like her, was a vampire hunter.
