Chapter 032: Think Carefully

获得主角能力的我只想过平凡生活 · 第032章 仔细思考

To be honest, Wang Bo never expected Uncle Tang to say such a thing. He immediately saw Uncle Tang in a new light. Just as Wang Bo thought Uncle Tang would agree with his view, Uncle Tang immediately criticized Wang Bo's thoughts and actions.

"Nephew, I advise you to change this way of thinking. No matter what you thought before, as of now, today, I absolutely will not allow you to treat my daughter like this."

"As a father, I would not agree to my daughter being treated like this either."

Seeing Uncle Tang's righteous expression, Wang Bo could only say, "Yes, as a father, you are absolutely right. Uncle Tang, you are correct."

"Then what do you mean, worthy nephew?" Uncle Tang asked with pleasant surprise.

"But I insist on my own opinion!" Although Wang Bo agreed with Uncle Tang's view, he also had his own persistence.

Old Man Tang couldn't help but glare at Wang Bo angrily.

Yet no matter how he tried to persuade him, Wang Bo would not change his mind.

In fact, Wang Bo could have pretended to agree and then gone back on his word later, but he was not that kind of person—he was not the sort to be two-faced, saying one thing and doing another.

Moreover, this was just his own idea—so what if others disagreed?

Wang Bo would not change anyway.

No matter how much Old Man Tang talked himself hoarse, Wang Bo just shook his head, shaking it again and again.

Old Man Tang: ...

Fuck, why can't this guy get it through his thick skull.

"Worthy nephew, so you are determined to dash yourself against the southern wall." Uncle Tang asked, his expression displeased.

Wang Bo nodded. Uncle Tang's expression grew even darker; he looked as if he wanted to give Wang Bo a beating, but in the end he held back and once again patiently tried to persuade him. It seemed that, no matter what, Uncle Tang was unwilling to lose Wang Bo as a son-in-law.

But Wang Bo had already made up his mind and would never go back on his decision. No matter how Old Man Tang tried to persuade him, Wang Bo would not relent.

Old Man Tang finally sighed, looking at Wang Bo with a mixture of disappointment and frustration. 'You're really driving me crazy. If you weren't my worthy nephew, believe me, I'd make you pay right now.'

Wang Bo nodded; he believed this, after all, Uncle Tang was still Tang Xin's father no matter what.

"Do whatever you want, I wash my hands of it!" Uncle Tang's expression shifted several times before he finally flung his hand, tossed off a remark, and turned to leave.

He didn't want to stay here for a single moment now.

He walked out of the kitchen and gave Ma You a look, saying, "Let's go."

Ma You quickly stood up and followed behind Old Man Tang.

Tang Xin also stood up.

"You sit down." Uncle Tang pointed at Tang Xin and said, "You two need to make things clear today. Whether you are friends or lovers depends on your own choice. I can't help you. Ma You, my worthy nephew, let's go."

"Very well, Uncle." Ma You nodded, giving Tang Xin and Wang Bo a look that said he could not help.

After all, he was just an outsider and really had no say in such matters.

But before leaving, Ma You still said to Wang Bo, "I think you should seriously consider what Uncle Tang said. He is indeed a man full of wisdom."

"Ma You, let's go." At that moment, the old man Tang, who was at the entrance, called out again.

Ma You could only shoot Wang Bo a look before turning to leave.

The two left Wang Bo's house one after the other, leaving only Wang Bo and Tang Xin in the spacious living room.

Wang Bo walked over and plopped down on the sofa, looking at Tang Xin across from him. She was wearing a black dress today, showing off her graceful figure, but her complexion wasn't good. Even with heavy makeup, she couldn't hide the faint dark traces around her eyes.

It seemed she hadn't rested well last night.

Wang Bo looked at her without speaking; Tang Xin lowered her head and remained silent. The air was filled with an awkward silence.

After a long while, Wang Bo broke the silence. "Tang Xin, although we started with a misunderstanding, I don't mind. As long as you can accept my view of love, I am willing to treat you well, cherish you as my wife, and give you whatever you want."

Tang Xin lifted her head, her expression complex as she looked at Wang Bo.

Wang Bo continued, "I'm not the kind of person who loves the new and loathes the old. Please believe me. I won't resort to flowery praise like comparing you to stars and moons, but as long as it exists in this world, if you ask for it, I can give it to you."

With the Copy Mirror in hand, there was nothing in this world that Wang Bo could not obtain.

So when Wang Bo said this, he was genuinely not bluffing, nor was he boasting.

Wang Bo looked seriously at Tang Xin and made a promise to her.

Tang Xin still did not say a word.

But her expression softened slightly when Wang Bo made his promise, as if the eternal ice had been forcibly cracked open.

But she did not immediately agree; instead, after a long silence, she spoke softly, "Can't you just be good to me alone?"

Wang Bo shook his head. "I don't want to deceive you, Tang Xin. This is my dream. I admit that my view of love is undoubtedly twisted, but I don't intend to change it. I just want everyone to live happily together."

"If you feel that I have caused you harm, you can hit me... well, let's forget about that."

Wang Bo wasn't afraid of being hit; rather, he was afraid of hurting Tang Xin. After all, his body was made of steel, impenetrable even by bullets. What if Tang Xin suddenly slapped him?

Wang Bo wouldn't feel pain, but her hand would be ruined.

Tang Xin sighed softly and said, "I need to think it over carefully."

“Okay.” Wang Bo did not object.

This kind of matter is a lifelong event for any woman, and indeed requires calm consideration.

Wang Bo rose and saw Tang Xin out of his home, watching as she slowly walked away.

Wang Bo was not entirely sure whether Tang Xin would come around, because he knew very well that every woman wants something different—some don't mind sharing a man with other women.

But some women want to be devoted to one man for life, and hope the man does the same.

But Wang Bo couldn't do that, so no matter what choice Tang Xin made, Wang Bo would not interfere and was willing to accept it.

The afternoon passed quickly.

Night fell.

Wang Bo, however, had no desire to sleep at all. After all, he had slept through the entire morning and only gotten up in the afternoon, so naturally he wasn't sleepy at night. Bored and with nothing to do, Wang Bo went to Repulse Bay Beach.

Under the cover of night, Repulse Bay Beach had long lost its daytime clamor; as far as the eye could see, the entire beach was deserted.

Wang Bo walked alone on the beach, leaving a long trail of footprints.
