Chapter 012: Ice Sculpture
获得主角能力的我只想过平凡生活 · 第012章 冰雕
Ryan took a deep breath and continued following the elegant woman. After turning one street corner after another, he found the area deserted and decided to make his move.
He rushed forward in one breath, drew his pistol, and aimed it at the woman's back.
"Don't make a sound, or I'll kill you right now."
"What are you doing?" The woman seemed somewhat surprised, turning around to look at Ryan.
Ryan was astonished by the woman's boldness—daring to turn around while being aimed at with a gun. Such courage was ten times greater than his own, but it only made him angrier.
He aimed the gun at her. "I told you not to move, didn't you hear me?"
The woman looked at the pistol in Ryan's hand with a curious expression. "What is this? A weapon?"
Ryan was dumbfounded.
What era was this? How could anyone not recognize a pistol?
He was so angry he laughed. "Are you messing with me? Hand over your money, or I'll blow your brains out right now. Don't think I won't kill a woman."
A flash of murderous intent flickered in the woman's eyes. She said haughtily, "Do you know that no one has ever dared speak to me like that, you despicable human?"
Ryan trembled with rage. He aimed the gun at the ground and fired a shot to show he meant business. "Hand over the money now, or I'll kill you."
He had lost patience. The gunshot might have alerted people nearby.
All he wanted now was to get the money and leave immediately. As for sexual assault, that could wait. The priority was money, not sex.
Seeing the power of the pistol, the woman's pupils contracted sharply. This time she no longer hid her anger. "You will pay for what you've done," she said sternly.
Ryan raised his gun, aiming at the woman, and decided to frisk her himself and take her money.
But the next second, Ryan noticed something wrong.
His hand gripping the gun was frozen solid. For a moment, Ryan stared in disbelief at his frozen hand. Ice spread rapidly from his wrist, encasing his entire arm in the blink of an eye.
Ryan panicked. He tried to run but found his feet frozen too, the ice creeping up to his knees. He couldn't help shouting, "My God, what's going on?"
The woman stared coldly at Ryan and said slowly, "Your soul will be frozen forever, dying in silence."
Only then did Ryan realize that all of this was the woman's doing.
He wanted to beg for mercy, but it was too late—the ice had reached his mouth. Then, under his horrified gaze, he was completely frozen into a statue.
The woman looked down at the bullet hole in the ground, her gaze distant, then turned and walked away.
At the same time, she made a solemn decision in her heart.
Perhaps she should change her plans.
The next morning, when people walked down the street and found a lifelike ice sculpture, it caused a sensation.
The police quickly arrived and took the ice sculpture away.
Wang Bo remained completely unaware of all this.
After a night of hard work, he had successfully used the arsenal to create dozens of mechanical soldiers. When the factory workers came to work and saw a large amount of steel and other materials had vanished, they were astonished.
Wang Bo came forward and gave a random excuse to fool them.
Then he ordered a large batch of steel from the steel mill to smooth things over.
A few days later, after working overtime, the car factory staff finally turned Wang Bo's design into reality—a supercar years ahead of its time rolled off the production line.
To be honest, this car surpassed all current automobiles in both appearance and performance.
When it was unveiled, the entire factory was in an uproar.
No one could believe that such a luxurious car had come from their own factory.
Several designers touched the brand-new supercar, unable to put it down. A few even nearly came to blows over who would drive it first.
But soon everyone calmed down and took turns experiencing the car's performance.
Everyone who drove it fell in love with the supercar.
They unanimously agreed that this supercar would be the hottest car of the year. So they brainstormed ways to make their car an instant hit.
After some discussion, they finally came up with two proposals and sent them to Wang Bo's office.
Wang Bo reviewed the two proposals.
The first proposal was to recruit top drivers to compete in the WRC with their supercar.
WRC stands for World Rally Championship.
This competition began in 1973, combining previously separate national rally races into a world championship. Alongside Formula One, it is one of the top motorsport events under the FIA, with over a billion viewers annually watching via television or other media.
With their supercar's performance and a world-class driver, they could easily outpace other cars and bring home a championship.
Winning the championship would make their supercar an instant hit.
Then the whole world would know how formidable their car was.
Unfortunately, the World Rally Championship was still some time away.
The second proposal was advertising—massive advertising. Bombarding the market with various ads would help their supercar gain fame faster.
The downside was the cost.
After all, saturation advertising burns money.
For example, Coca-Cola spends over a billion dollars on advertising each year—enough to buy dozens of factories like theirs.
Of course, considering their boss might not have deep pockets, they didn't suggest such an insane strategy.
Instead, they settled for the next best thing: hoping their boss could hire Hollywood's hottest star to endorse their car, which would still be effective.
So, in the second report, Wang Bo saw a photo of a woman.
She was very beautiful, with gorgeous blonde hair, sapphire-blue eyes, and a name that seemed familiar but he couldn't quite place.
Sharon Vineyard!
