Chapter 030: Spider Team

The next morning, Wang Bo put on his gaming helmet, took control of a mechanical soldier, and after some disguise, set out with the spider serum.

He now knew that Miles was in high school, so he planned to intercept him on his way, right at his doorstep.

At 7:50 a.m.

The door of Miles's house opened, and Miles walked out.

"Wait." Just then, a woman came out and hugged Miles. She was his mother.

Miles hugged his mother back.

"Everything will be okay." His mother forced back her grief and managed a smile.

"Yes, Mom, everything will be okay." Miles pretended to be strong, because he didn't want to upset his mother, so he had to be tough now.

After parting from his mother, Miles walked out of the house.

Wang Bo followed closely. He had just noticed that Miles had short hair, his face looked calm, but his eyes were filled with sorrow. Clearly, the young man hadn't moved past the shadow of his father.

"Miles."

After crossing a street, Wang Bo saw there were few people around, so he called out.

Hearing someone call his name, Miles naturally stopped and turned around, seeing a stranger approaching him.

He couldn't help but become wary. "Who are you?"

"Me? Someone who can help you," Wang Bo said.

"I don't need any help. Maybe you've made a mistake." Miles stepped back, feigning indifference.

Wang Bo shook his head and said, "No, you need my help, because I see sadness in your eyes, and anger too. You're filled with hatred—hatred for the one who killed your father."

With his secret exposed, Miles felt a chill run down his spine and stared at Wang Bo in shock. "Who exactly are you?"

"Someone who can help you," Wang Bo said.

Miles remained cautious and said in a low voice, "How do you plan to help me?"

"Do you know Spider-Man?"

"I do." Miles nodded.

Although Peter Parker was reluctant to face the White Witch, he hadn't stopped his heroic deeds. He often helped those in need, especially during the clashes between the White Witch and Kingpin, saving many innocent bystanders caught in the crossfire. Thus, Spider-Man's reputation had spread throughout the streets of New York.

Many people admired him greatly.

Wang Bo pulled out the spider serum and said, "This is called the spider serum. Once injected, it can give you the powers of Spider-Man, and you too can become Spider-Man."

"What?" Miles was taken aback.

"What, you don't believe me?" Wang Bo countered.

Miles nodded. He really didn't believe in such a windfall.

"You can come with me to a place now, and I'll show you the proof," Wang Bo said.

"But I have to go to school."

"School is important, but are you going to miss this opportunity because of school, Miles?"

Miles hesitated. It was clear he was wavering.

So Wang Bo snapped his fingers, and the Transformer Blackwing rushed out from a street corner, stopping in front of Wang Bo.

"Get in." Wang Bo's words were the last straw, and he took the driver's seat first. Miles eventually got in the car.

But he quickly noticed something wrong: there were only him and Wang Bo inside the car. So how had the car driven over just now?

"It's just driverless. What's so surprising about that, Miles?" Wang Bo acted as if it was no big deal.

Half an hour later, Blackwing took Wang Bo and Miles into an underground bar in New York.

Entering it, Miles found the bar completely empty.

Moreover, the entire bar had been converted into a training ground, equipped with all kinds of training gear, including jump ropes, dumbbells, barbells, back machines, chest machines, and so on.

Just as Miles was wondering why Wang Bo had brought him here, he suddenly saw Wang Bo clap his hands.

"Come out."

Miles was startled, and then he saw a woman in a white suit slowly descending from the ceiling, head first, just like a spider.

Spider-Man?

Miles almost cried out, but he quickly realized it wasn't Spider-Man.

Spider-Man was a man in a red spider suit.

But the person before him was a woman in a white spider suit.

"This is my proof." Wang Bo pointed at the woman in the white spider suit. "This is Spider-Woman, the first person to be injected with the spider serum."

The woman in the white spider suit was naturally Gwen, and this underground bar was the training ground for Gwen. After all, Wang Bo couldn't let Gwen face the White Witch without any combat training.

That would be suicide.

So, before the Spider Team was fully formed, Wang Bo had to train these spider rookies.

"So this is the second person you've found?" Gwen lightly swung down and landed gracefully in front of Miles, circling around him.

"He's just a kid. Can he bear such a burden?" Gwen said.

Miles felt underestimated. Teenagers have strong self-esteem, so he shot back without hesitation.

"From your voice, you don't sound much older. Why do you look down on me? Why can't I do it?"

"Because I don't see any resolve in your eyes," Gwen said pointedly. "What I see is hatred and anger."

Miles stepped back, casting a suspicious glance at Wang Bo.

Did these people all have the ability to read minds?

That made him very uncomfortable.

"Resolve will come soon enough. Trust me, he's qualified." Wang Bo thought that if Miles could become Spider-Man in a parallel world, why not in this one?

Even if he couldn't, it didn't matter; there were others.

Feeling affirmed, Miles felt a bit better and quickly said, "That's right. I've had resolve from the very beginning."

"So, you agree to join us?" Wang Bo asked.

"Yes, I agree." After seeing Gwen, Miles believed Wang Bo hadn't deceived him.

Wang Bo took out the spider serum and handed it to Miles, saying, "Inject it directly when you get home tonight. When you wake up the next day, you'll become one of us, an indispensable member of the Spider Team."

Miles nodded, took the spider serum, and left. Wang Bo knew he would definitely join him.
