Chapter 043: Making a Move

获得主角能力的我只想过平凡生活 · 第043章 动手

After everyone silently listened to Jessica's intelligence, Silver Sable spoke first, saying, "So, our target this time is this person, right?"

"Yes," Wang Bo said calmly. "I received intelligence that Hammerhead plans to take advantage of the firefight between Kingpin and the Queen, when the Police are too busy to pay attention to him, to make a big deal smuggling a batch of drugs. The transaction will take place tonight at a New York dock."

"So, we're going to catch them all in one net, right?" Carly Cooper pushed up her glasses and said.

"Exactly." Wang Bo nodded, turning off the light emitted from his eyes, and said, "Your goal is simple: capture both sides of the transaction, then notify the Police to catch them red-handed."

Miles cracked his knuckles. "Don't worry, we'll get this done."

Gwen nodded. "Miles is right. We won't let this transaction succeed."

Her father was a Police officer; she understood the harm of drugs better than anyone.

So this time, she was determined to give the enemy a good show.

Silver Sable smiled confidently. A bunch of Yakuza—she had never feared them. Even before injecting the spider serum, she wouldn't have feared this scum.

Let alone now.

Night, local time, 11:30 PM.

A certain port in New York.

A pitch-black ship docked at the port, like a giant beast silently crouching in the night.

On the ship, a group of sailors were busy.

They unloaded crates of cargo from the ship, which soon piled up into a small mountain.

Just then, a heavy truck passed through layers of security, drove in from outside, and stopped in front of the cargo crates. The truck door opened, and a man in black clothes jumped down.

He went to the back and opened the cargo door.

One by one, workers jumped out of the truck. The man in black pointed at the pile of crates and urged, "These are the ones. Hurry up, hurry up."

The workers began loading the cargo swiftly.

Outside the dock, gang members were patrolling one after another, their sharp eyes monitoring every move nearby.

At the highest point of the ship in the port, a figure in a black spider suit was hidden in the night, overlooking every move nearby.

"This is Miles. The target's men are packing the crates, but I don't see the target yet," Miles said slowly.

"This is Carly. I don't see the target either."

"This is Cindy. Same here, no target."

"This is Jessica. I see the target. He's riding in a car heading toward the dock."

"This is Gwen. I've confirmed: thirteen dockworkers, thirty-six sailors, forty-two members of Hammerhead's gang. Every one of them is armed."

"This is Silver Sable. I'm temporarily acting as team leader, issuing orders to you."

As the leader of mercenaries, Silver Sable had fought battle after battle and was experienced. Her taking the role of team leader was perfect.

No one objected.

Silver Sable said, "Once Hammerhead is in the net, Miles will handle the workers, Carly the sailors, Jessica and Gwen the Hammerhead gang members, Cindy will suppress enemy fire and support teammates, and I'll take care of Hammerhead."

"Understood!" everyone replied in unison.

Silver Sable nodded in satisfaction, lurking in the darkness, her eyes fixed unblinkingly on the dock transaction.

Before long, Hammerhead finally took the bait.

A black sedan drove in and stopped at the dock.

A burly man with a broad forehead and a metallic presence stepped out of the car.

At the same time, on the ship, a man in a first officer's uniform, flanked by several sailors, emerged from the cabin, disembarked, and embraced Hammerhead with open arms.

Miles said impatiently, "Captain, the target has appeared. Should we close the net?"

Silver Sable pulled out a camera, adjusted the focus, captured a photo of the two men trading, then decisively ordered, "Close the net."

"Awesome."

Miles cheered, leaped down from a height, his black figure darting through the night sky, and kicked a worker who was packing boxes flying.

Miles had no sympathy for those who aided the wicked, but he was ultimately a kind person, merely kicking the man away rather than killing him.

The sudden turn of events startled everyone.

Hammerhead reacted immediately, roaring angrily, "Kill him!"

His men drew their pistols.

But just then, Jessica and Gwen launched a surprise attack, joining the fray. Both were among the top Spider-People in terms of skill.

One had learned combat techniques before becoming Spider-Woman, battle-hardened, and after gaining spider powers, her skills had evolved, becoming even more formidable.

The other had dreamed of her parallel-world self, learning Spider-Gwen's combat techniques, and was no less capable than the former.

Working together, they were absolutely devastating against the crowd.

A few gang members, seeing the situation turn sour, quickly opened the car trunk and pulled out a rocket launcher.

Before they could aim, a web line shot through the night sky, stuck to the rocket launcher, and yanked it hard, sending it flying out of their hands.

Cindy casually tossed the seized rocket launcher into the sea, then scanned the area and pounced on another man holding a machine gun. Her role was to suppress the enemy's heavy firepower.

The first officer trading with Hammerhead saw the situation deteriorating and said to his men, "Go help them."

The sailors nodded and joined the fight.

But before they could act, Cally Cooper descended from the sky, landing among the sailors, and delivered several kicks, sending each sailor flying.

After being injected with spider serum, even a casual strike from her carried several tons of force, which ordinary people could not withstand.

The sailors were no exception.

The first officer was momentarily stunned, unable to believe his fierce men had been so easily dealt with, so he had to turn to his ally... Hammerhead.

"What now? Where did these guys come from?"

Hammerhead had already recognized the group that had ruined his business as the Spider-Team, recently famous in New York, but he showed no fear. He casually picked up a crate and hurled it at Gwen.

Bang!

The next second, Silver Sable appeared, kicked the crate apart, and the drugs inside scattered and flew everywhere.

"I'll be your opponent." Silver Sable landed and shot out like a cannonball, determined to take down this bastard herself.
