Chapter 030: Chang'an Poem

获得主角能力的我只想过平凡生活 · 第030章 长安诗

As the master of the parchment contract, Wang Bo could control the life and death of any demon listed on it, and the death of these demons would be directly fed back to him through the contract.

If Sebas died, Wang Bo would know immediately.

When he pulled out the parchment contract, he clearly saw the entire process of Sebas's name being erased from it.

This caught Wang Bo quite off guard.

"You want to kill Yang Guozhong?" Qin Liangyu naturally knew who Yang Guozhong was—one of the chief culprits behind the An Lushan Rebellion. Originally, she had planned to kill An Lushan first, then go after Yang Guozhong.

She hadn't expected Wang Bo to make a move already.

"That's right, I did want to kill Yang Guozhong," Wang Bo admitted without concealment. "But I failed. The assassin I sent died."

"Did Yang Guozhong do it?" Qin Liangyu asked.

Wang Bo shook his head. "I don't know."

He could only know that Sebas was dead, but how Sebas died was something Wang Bo truly had no idea about.

"But I suspect this matter might be related to Yang Guozhong."

After all, Sebas's purpose in staying in Chang'an was to kill Yang Guozhong and claim his soul.

But now, Sebas was dead.

Qin Liangyu said slowly, "If your assassin was killed by Yang Guozhong, that means Yang Guozhong is no ordinary man."

"I was careless," Wang Bo admitted his mistake. "I knew Yang Guozhong was the prime minister and must have experts around him, but I didn't expect that the experts by his side could even kill Sebas."

Although Wang Bo had seen Huang He and knew this world had masters,

he still thought sending a demon to assassinate Yang Guozhong would be a sure thing. It was this arrogance that led to Sebas's death.

And this incident served as a wake-up call for Wang Bo: this was not a simple world.

It was not as simple as he had imagined.

Qin Liangyu asked, "What do you plan to do now?"

After thinking for a moment, Wang Bo said, "I plan to go to Chang'an and meet this Yang Guozhong in person, to see what abilities he has that allowed him to kill my demon."

Qin Liangyu said readily, "I'll go with you."

She, too, wished nothing more than to kill Yang Guozhong.

Wang Bo did not refuse and agreed. Taking Qin Liangyu's hand, ignoring her startled and bewildered expression, he teleported with her, and in an instant, they arrived in Chang'an.

When Qin Liangyu came to her senses, she found herself standing atop a tall building, looking down at a dense patchwork of buildings.

The entire city was magnificent and grand, with distinct layers, buildings of varying heights arranged in neat rows, orderly and structured.

Especially the distant imperial palace, majestic and imposing, with the palace city and outer city walls running parallel.

The palace city symbolized the North Star, considered the center of the heavens; the imperial city with its government offices symbolized the Purple Forbidden Enclosure surrounding the North Star; and the outer city symbolized the stars arching around the north.

"This is..."

"Chang'an!"

Wang Bo's answer dispelled Qin Liangyu's doubts and filled her with awe. She hadn't expected Wang Bo to be able to take her across a thousand li in an instant to the bustling Chang'an.

This method of travel was nothing short of miraculous.

If she had such an ability, she wouldn't have needed two months to return to the Great Tang from the end of the Silk Road.

Coming back to her senses, Qin Liangyu gazed at the splendid architecture and could not help but softly recite, "The founding of the state began at the Eastern Well, the city walls rose from the North Star. This world's Chang'an has not disappointed me."

Wang Bo looked surprised. This poem was clearly a praise of Chang'an, but he had never heard it before.

The poems about Chang'an that Wang Bo knew were only a few.

For instance, Du Mu's distant view of Chang'an: "Looking back at Chang'an, embroidered piles rise, a thousand gates open in succession on the mountaintop."

Another was Meng Jiao's joy after passing the imperial exam: "In the spring breeze, my horse's hooves are swift; in one day, I see all the flowers of Chang'an."

And also... also... what was it?

Wang Bo had forgotten. After all, there were countless poems describing Chang'an by the ancients. Apart from the two above, he had forgotten many. Anyway, it wasn't anything important. He wasn't planning to use poems to show off.

Wang Bo activated his X-ray vision and telescopic sight. Standing on the high building, he surveyed all of Chang'an and quickly located Yang Guozhong's mansion. Looking over, he found the mansion in chaos.

Yang Guozhong stood in the main hall, his face grim, directing several guards to carry a corpse out of the hall.

That corpse was Sebas. He was already dead, his soul gone.

From the looks of it, this should be the primary crime scene, but what surprised Wang Bo was that there were no signs of a struggle. What did that mean?

It meant that Sebas had been killed in a single blow, caught completely off guard.

This was quite unexpected for Wang Bo.

Although Sebas was a useless demon, he was still a demon. With his strength, he could certainly be considered an unparalleled warrior, not to mention his ability to disguise himself and use magic.

Yet such a demon had been killed instantly.

What danger lurked in Yang Guozhong's mansion? Who was protecting Yang Guozhong, capable of killing even a demon in an instant?

Wang Bo's gaze shifted, scanning everyone in Yang Guozhong's mansion.

From maids to servants, from guards to soldiers, from Yang Guozhong to his wife—no one escaped Wang Bo's scrutiny; he saw through them all.

But precisely because of this, Wang Bo was astonished.

These people were all ordinary humans. Even if there were a few stronger guards, they were nowhere near capable of killing Sebas in an instant.

This didn't make sense. Could there be some master hidden in the shadows, evading his observation?

Wang Bo pondered.

Qin Liangyu withdrew her admiring gaze from Chang'an and, seeing Wang Bo deep in thought, asked, "What's wrong?"

Wang Bo recounted what he had observed.

Qin Liangyu raised her hand, and a white-tasseled spear appeared in it. With a heroic air, she said, "Instead of guessing wildly here, why not test it out? Where is Yang Guozhong?"

Wang Bo pointed in a direction.

Qin Liangyu turned her gaze and looked over.

In the world of Type-Moon, Archer-class Servants almost all possess the inherent skill of Clairvoyance, allowing them to survey an entire town from a high vantage point and search for enemies.

Additionally, Clairvoyance also affects shooting accuracy with a bow.

Most Archer-class Servants, when drawing their bows, can accurately snipe targets moving at high speed within a distance of 4 kilometers.

Clairvoyance also has levels; some high-level Clairvoyance can not only see far distances but even see through the future.

Qin Liangyu was naturally not an Archer; she was a Lancer. But even as a Lancer, with her excellent vision, she could see a fly a thousand meters away.
