Chapter 5: The Guiding Light

The next day, Wang Bo got up early.
After washing up and having breakfast, he drove his car, Blackwing, to the press conference venue.
Friday was introducing the detailed parameters and various functions of the spacecraft to Wang Bo. After all, when the spacecraft was originally designed, Wang Bo had only offered a few suggestions.
All the work had been completed by the Conqueror alone.
Wang Bo did not know the detailed parameters of the spacecraft, so on the way to the press conference, he had Friday give him an introduction and memorized it.
At ten in the morning, at the press conference venue.
Wang Bo arrived at the venue.
As soon as he got out of the car and entered the conference hall, his blonde secretary rushed over with a worried look. "Boss, why are you only here now? The reporters have already arrived."
Wang Bo smiled slightly and said, "Important people always make their entrance last. Isn't that the custom?"
Blonde secretary: ...
She had never noticed that her boss could be so humorous before.
The blonde secretary glanced behind him and, seeing that Wang Bo was alone, asked in surprise, "Boss, where is the product we're supposed to introduce?"
She had been busy running around, hosting so many reporters, but had completely failed to see where the product to be introduced was.
She had thought the boss would bring the product on stage, but now she realized he had appeared alone, without any product at all.
Wang Bo patted her on the shoulder and said, "Don't worry. Our product will be here soon."
The blonde secretary breathed a sigh of relief and asked, "Should we postpone the press conference?"
"No need." Wang Bo straightened his clothes, walked calmly down a corridor, pushed open the door, and entered the press conference hall.
As soon as he entered, a barrage of flashing lights and the sound of clicking cameras erupted.
Wang Bo found a chair and sat down, looking at the sea of reporters below. He couldn't help but say, "Your enthusiasm just now made me feel like the person holding the press conference wasn't me, but Tony Stark."
A burst of laughter came from the crowd, and the clicking sounds rang out again. Many reporters were excited, feeling that this quote alone could make tomorrow's front page.
Wang Bo raised his hand and pressed it down gently, saying calmly, "Ladies and gentlemen, the reason I've called this press conference today is actually to announce two things."
"Before I finish speaking, I don't want anyone to interrupt me. However, after I'm done, I'll give you time to ask questions."
"So, I hope you can all remain quiet."
Although Justin Hammer couldn't compare to Tony Stark, he was still a notable figure. Even if reporters liked to mock him behind his back, they would still show him some respect face-to-face.
For a moment, all the reporters fell silent. The scene was so quiet you could hear a pin drop.
Wang Bo was satisfied with this. He raised one finger and said slowly, "The first thing is that Hammer Industries will undergo a transformation from now on. We will no longer be in the arms business, nor will we manufacture weapons."
The scene immediately erupted in uproar.
Hammer Industries was essentially an arms dealer. If they weren't doing arms anymore, what could they do? Real estate?
Everyone found it unbelievable.
Reporters picked up their cameras and snapped pictures of Wang Bo nonstop.
The blonde secretary stared blankly at her boss, completely unable to understand what he was thinking. Wasn't he afraid the shareholders would rebel?
But then she remembered that her boss seemed to have absolute controlling shares in Hammer Industries, so she shut her mouth.
Ignoring the commotion below, Wang Bo continued, "The reason we're not doing arms is simple: Tony Stark is a genius. That guy alone can match our entire team."
"If he puts in just a little effort, he can produce weapons that outclass ours."
"So in terms of weapons, we concede defeat."
"Of course, that's only one reason. The more important reason is that we don't think arms are profitable."
"To put it bluntly, we've already outgrown the arms business."
Wang Bo's words caused an uproar. Many reporters stared wide-eyed at him as he made his bold claims. One impulsive reporter stood up and shouted, "Mr. Hammer, as far as I know, the most profitable businesses in the world are arms, oil, and drugs."
"I want to know what gives you the courage to say that arms are no longer profitable."
"Wrong, completely wrong!" Wang Bo directly refuted the reporter. "The most profitable business in the world is not arms, not drugs, and not oil. It's monopoly. Monopoly is the most profitable business in the world."
A female reporter had a flash of insight and said loudly, "Mr. Hammer, do you mean you've already mastered a monopoly business?"
"In a sense, you could say that." Wang Bo nodded.
"But there are antitrust laws in this world," the reporter reminded him.
"I know. That's why we welcome anyone to compete with us. We will absolutely not violate antitrust laws," Wang Bo said calmly.
The female reporter asked eagerly, "Then I want to know, what is this profitable business you're talking about?"
Wang Bo raised a second finger and said, "That brings me to the second thing I want to announce today."
He gestured for the standing reporter to sit down and said leisurely, "Actually, not long ago, we submitted an application to the United Nations and bought the Moon and Mars. The cost was not high—in fact, it was cheap."
"I believe none of you knew about this."
In fact, it wasn't Wang Bo who handled the purchase of the Moon and Mars, but Friday, who bought them on his behalf.
The reporters looked bewildered. No one understood why Wang Bo had suddenly brought this up.
Wang Bo continued, "The reason I bought the Moon and Mars is simple: the second thing I want to announce is closely related to these two celestial bodies."
The reporters grew even more confused.
Wang Bo said, "Actually, the second thing I want to announce is to introduce to you all the new product of Hammer Industries."
As soon as he finished speaking, a shadow suddenly fell, blocking the sunlight.
Everyone looked up and saw a spacecraft thirty meters long hovering above the glass ceiling.
The spacecraft was silent, quietly suspended above their heads.
Amid the exclamations of the crowd, Wang Bo said slowly, "This is the new product of Hammer Industries: the anti-gravity spacecraft... the Guiding Light!"
Everyone stared at Wang Bo in shock. A dead silence filled the air.
A few seconds later, the previously silent press conference exploded. Countless reporters rushed forward with their cameras and microphones, surrounding Wang Bo in a tight circle.
