Chapter 010: Future Surprise

获得主角能力的我只想过平凡生活 · 第010章 未来的惊喜

Wang Bo: ...

Black Widow: ...

Wang Bo, holding his coffee, looked at the paper fluttering down with a conflicted expression. He had originally planned to hide himself from Black Widow, but he never expected a portal to expose him.

Are you messing with me?

Wang Bo looked helpless. Before the paper hit the ground, he reached out with one hand while holding his coffee in the other, grabbed the paper, and stuffed it into his pocket, then looked at Black Widow.

Black Widow was astonished. She never expected to witness such an astonishing scene on her first day undercover.

What was that just now? Magic, or a space portal? It was incredible.

Moreover, the content of that note left Black Widow even more stunned, keeping a hint of caution in her heart.

"Natalia?" Wang Bo spoke.

"What?"

"Can you forget what just happened?" Wang Bo asked, negotiating.

Black Widow said blankly, "Did something happen just now?"

Her acting was so convincing, as if she truly didn't know what had occurred.

Wang Bo had to admire it; at least he couldn't achieve such masterful acting. Truly a super spy, not only with astonishing acting skills but also completely... untrustworthy.

Wang Bo hesitated, wondering if he should erase this segment of Black Widow's memory.

But after thinking it over, he abandoned the idea.

He wasn't the defenseless Justin Hammer; he was Wang Bo, possessing demon blood and an indestructible body. Whether it was S.H.I.E.L.D. or Hydra, neither was a match for him.

Moreover, he was now the world's richest man, a prominent figure. Even S.H.I.E.L.D. couldn't personally move against him.

So Wang Bo had nothing to fear.

Thus, he nodded approvingly, as if pleased with Black Widow's acting, and said, "Your salary will be tripled. Go back to work."

Black Widow smiled and said, "Thank you, boss."

Then she slowly backed out of Wang Bo's office, as if nothing had happened.

Wang Bo finished his coffee, placed the cup on the table, pulled out the note, and glanced at it. It had only one line written on it.

Tony Stark will have a pleasant surprise.

This was probably written by the Ancient One, seemingly reminding him.

Could it be that something unexpected had happened around Tony Stark? Wang Bo wondered, deciding to check it out in person. He teleported to the Middle East.

At this time, several weeks had passed since Tony Stark's disappearance.

Tony Stark should now be in a cave forging iron, but Wang Bo didn't know exactly which cave.

However, it wasn't a problem for Wang Bo.

He hovered over the Middle Eastern landscape, activated his X-ray vision and telescopic vision, and sped along, scanning the land, especially the hidden places.

In about half an hour, Wang Bo found the hideout of the Ten Rings.

Of course, he also discovered Tony Stark, imprisoned in a cave, forging iron.

He had already invented the miniaturized arc reactor in that shabby cave, embedded it in his chest to keep his life from being threatened.

After casting a spell on himself, Wang Bo passed through the Ten Rings' territory in plain sight, entered the cave, sat on a chair, and watched with interest as someone clanged away at iron.

That someone was now crafting a steel arm. He used tongs to hold the red-hot arm, plunged it into water, which hissed and produced a cloud of steam.

A bespectacled, scholarly man stepped back a few paces to avoid being scalded by the steam.

Wang Bo glanced at him; this should be Yinsen, the one who saved Tony Stark with a car battery.

After a while, Tony Stark fished the steel arm out of the water, set it aside, and planned to catch his breath. As soon as he turned his head, he saw an extra person in the cave and was startled.

But when he saw who it was, his anger erupted instantly.

"It's you! You bastard kidnapped me; you're the mastermind!" Tony Stark shouted at Wang Bo in fury.

Yinsen looked at Tony in confusion, not understanding why he was so angry.

Wang Bo shook his head and said, "Don't say that, Tony Stark. The real mastermind is Obadiah; what does it have to do with me?"

Tony Stark sneered, "Even now you're still sowing discord, Justin Hammer. You really are a clown who can't make it on the big stage."

He refused to believe that the old man who had cared for him after his father's death was the one who had him kidnapped.

Yinsen couldn't help stepping forward and asked with concern, "Tony, Tony, what's wrong?"

Tony Stark suppressed his anger and asked, "Yinsen, when did this bastard come in?"

Yinsen asked in bewilderment, "What bastard? Tony, who were you talking to just now?"

Tony Stark was stunned, looking at Yinsen in disbelief, then abruptly turned to Wang Bo.

"Yinsen, can't you see him?"

"See who? Tony, there's no one here but you and me. Tony, are you too tired? You're hallucinating." Yinsen looked at Tony with concern.

Tony Stark took a deep breath, turned to Wang Bo, and said, "Are you a hallucination?"

He then shook his head, "No, you're not a hallucination. I'm not so exhausted that I can't tell hallucination from reality."

Wang Bo said, "Of course I'm not a hallucination. It's just a little trick. No one can see me except you, including Yinsen here and the Ten Rings members outside."

"Who... are you?" Tony asked. As far as he knew, Justin Hammer, that clown who specialized in picking up scraps, didn't have such abilities.

Wang Bo smiled and said, "My name is Wang Bo. Of course, you can also think of me as Justin Hammer."

Tony Stark said, "Alright, whoever you are, if you can get me out of here, I'll repay you. Trust me, there aren't many things in this world I can't do."

"Of course I believe you. But I refuse."

"Are you in league with these people?" Tony guessed.

Wang Bo shook his head, "Don't overthink it. I'm not with the Ten Rings."

"Then why won't you get me out?" Tony was desperate to leave this godforsaken place and didn't want to miss any opportunity.

This mysterious man might not be his only chance to escape, but he was certainly the fastest.

"Probably because I don't feel like it," Wang Bo said.

Tony Stark: ...

In fact, the Ancient One had reminded Wang Bo that there would be a pleasant surprise around Tony Stark, but when Wang Bo arrived, he saw no surprise at all.

So Wang Bo suspected that this surprise might not be now, but in the future.
