Chapter 025: Kidnapping
获得主角能力的我只想过平凡生活 · 第025章 绑架
In the universe, the vast majority of super technologies are locked away.
Except for a few individuals, most aliens, and even the locals, cannot master these super technologies; this is the foundation of a civilization's standing in the universe.
So although Miss Friday collected with all her might, most of what she gathered was merely civilian technology.
Military technology was extremely scarce.
Wang Bo had already anticipated this.
But he wasn't in a hurry; instead, he had Miss Friday collect as much technology as possible.
Some encrypted technologies or those that touched upon taboos could be abandoned.
After all, he wasn't yet qualified to single-handedly challenge a civilization. If discovered, he would have no choice but to flee the planet Xandar in disgrace.
Just then, Wang Bo thought of another person—a character who appeared in Guardians of the Galaxy: the Collector!
This guy was one of the cosmic-level big shots.
He appeared as an ancient human but was actually an alien human with immense power.
He had a long lifespan, and over that long life, he cultivated a hobby: collecting interesting artifacts and life forms from across the universe.
Eventually, his obsession with collecting reached a certain level; he began collecting purely for the sake of collecting things he deemed rare or precious.
Thus, he was called the Collector.
This guy was also a well-known figure in the universe.
If anyone had top-tier technology, it would be him. But trying to snatch that technology from this big shot's hands was not a wise move.
So, the only option was to buy!
Unfortunately, Wang Bo had no money. Though he was wealthy on Earth, in the universe he was a complete pauper.
Fortunately, although Wang Bo had no money, he did have a few decent items.
For example, the replicated Allspark, the replicated Table of Feasting, the replicated Resurrection Stone, and so on. These were unique in the Marvel universe and should suit the Collector's tastes.
So after staying on Xandar for a few days, Wang Bo decided to seek out the Collector and try his luck.
But the Collector's residence was far from Xandar; even by spaceship, it would take a long voyage. So Wang Bo immediately thought of the Ancient One.
He wondered if this big shot could teleport him directly to the Collector's planet.
With this thought, Wang Bo opened a portal on Xandar and teleported himself to Kamar-Taj on Earth, where he found the Ancient One.
The Ancient One was still having tea with a demon god.
But this time, Wang Bo was startled to find that Lady Gremory was no longer there.
The demon god having tea with the Ancient One was a cat.
Seeing this cat, Wang Bo immediately became respectful. "Lord Bael, I didn't expect you to be summoned by the teacher as well."
Indeed, this cat was Bael, the chief of the seventy-two demons of Hell.
Bael yawned, licked his paw, and said, "Oh, it's you. You've come to another very interesting world this time. I can actually sense multiple Hells in this world."
Yes, the Marvel world actually had multiple Hells.
For instance, Mephisto was a Hell lord; he had his own Hell.
Besides that, there was the Lucifer Hell.
But the Lucifer Hell was far less famous than Mephisto's Hell in the Marvel world, and, unlike Mephisto, he couldn't directly come to reality. Wang Bo remembered it was because of a contract with Heaven, so he could only come to the human world through proxies or possession.
In that regard, he wasn't as impressive as Mephisto.
There was also Hela; she was actually a Hell lord too, but far inferior to the ones above.
Anyway, Marvel's Hell was chaotic; any space where powerful demons resided could be called Hell.
In this respect, Bael and the others were far behind. Seventy-two demon gods crammed into one Hell—their prestige was more than a notch below Mephisto and company.
Wang Bo joked, "There are many Hells in this universe. Lord Bael, would you like to leave your own legend in this world and become a Hell lord?"
Bael shook his head and said, "My roots are not in this world, and with my current form, I'm not enough to establish a Hell."
It was clear he had some self-awareness.
The Ancient One asked, "What do you want this time?"
Wang Bo turned and said, "Actually, I just wanted to ask, Teacher Ancient One, do you know the big shot called the Collector?"
The Ancient One raised an eyebrow and nodded. "I've heard of him."
"I want to go to where this Collector is. Can you send me there, Teacher Ancient One?"
The Ancient One shook his head. "I don't know where this ancient Collector is, so I cannot send you to him. Perhaps you can find another way."
Wang Bo nodded, looking disappointed.
Just then, Wang Bo's phone suddenly rang.
He stepped out of the room, stood in the hallway, and answered. Black Widow's voice came from the phone. "Boss, you finally answered. Where are you now?"
"What's up?" Wang Bo had been on Xandar for the past few days; it would have been strange if Black Widow could reach him.
"Julia has been kidnapped, boss." Black Widow said gravely.
Wang Bo was stunned. His predecessor's blonde secretary had been kidnapped?
"Who did it?"
"Not sure. What's certain is that it was a premeditated raid. The enemy attacked swiftly. From the traces left behind, there are few useful clues. Whoever did it is definitely experienced."
Hearing Black Widow's words, Wang Bo immediately thought of one organization.
Hydra!
It seemed only an organization like that would go to such lengths to kidnap Julia, likely because of the spaceship.
Wang Bo had halted the spaceship construction and destroyed the built spaceship. That cut off Hydra's hope of obtaining a spaceship through legitimate means.
So this organization had kidnapped Julia.
Of course, this was just Wang Bo's suspicion; it might not be Hydra—it could be another country. But in Wang Bo's view, the only organization daring enough to do such a thing.
Was Hydra.
After all, Julia's identity was sensitive now; most people would have other considerations and wouldn't dare to touch her.
But Hydra wouldn't have such scruples.
Moreover, Black Widow was from S.H.I.E.L.D., and even she didn't know who had done it. Only an ancient organization like Hydra could pull this off.
