Chapter 007: The Dancer
获得主角能力的我只想过平凡生活 · 第007章 舞娘
Goldpan Town was completely different from Flower Town.
Flower Town was located on the Flower Plains, where generations of residents had made a living by growing flowers, giving rise to a series of industries that sustained the town's development.
When you entered Flower Town, you would find yourself in an ocean of flowers.
Almost every household in Flower Town grew flowers, with all kinds of blossoms placed at doorways, hung on window edges, and set on rooftops. From afar, you could see cascades of flowers falling from the heights.
Vibrant flowers bloomed in the wind, bringing vitality to the entire town.
But Goldpan Town's biggest industry was not flowers, but mineral veins. The entire town's population made a living by mining, so when you entered Goldpan Town, you could see groups of miners.
They were all burly and strong, carrying mining tools, passing by you in groups, talking loudly about how much ore they had dug today and which tavern they would go to for a meal. Their speech was crude, their bodies covered in dust, and as they walked along the street, they occasionally left a trail of footprints.
But the residents of Goldpan Town were used to it.
Besides mining, the most developed trade in Goldpan Town was blacksmithing. There were many blacksmiths here who smelted the ore dug by miners into iron and then forged it into weapons.
These weapons were used to equip the kingdom's army.
So this was one of the kingdom's most important armories, often heavily guarded.
Of course, the heavy guard here was only a few thousand soldiers. Wang Bo could easily defeat them by sending a few demons.
But for this world, a few thousand soldiers counted as a heavy force.
After all, this kingdom was too small, with a population of less than five hundred thousand, unable to support a large army. The kingdom's total soldiers did not exceed thirty thousand.
A few thousand soldiers was already a huge number for this kingdom.
Even the royal palace was no different.
After entering Goldpan Town, Wang Bo's first feeling was that he seemed to have returned to the industrial age. Black chimneys emitted thick smoke, polluting the sky over Goldpan Town.
The originally clear and blue sky was thus covered with a layer of gray.
The fresh air was also mixed with a pungent smell.
Prince Kit coughed uncomfortably a few times. He had probably never breathed such poor air before, and his complexion was not good.
"Are we resting here today, Duke?" When Prince Kit said this, he really wanted Wang Bo to refuse, because he couldn't stand the air here.
"Of course," Wang Bo nodded. He had a barrier around him that filtered pollutants from the air, so he didn't mind Goldpan Town's air pollution index at all.
Prince Kit said, "But Duke, Goldpan Town may not be able to accommodate the thousands of residents from Flower Town."
He didn't want to stay here, but he also didn't want the Duke to look down on him for being pampered, so he hinted tactfully.
Wang Bo waved his hand and said, "Then let them set up camp outside Goldpan Town. Prince, you can also stay outside the town. I'll go into the town alone for a stroll."
Prince Kit wanted to agree, but he thought it would make the Duke think less of him, so he put on an indifferent look. "Just as well, I also want to take a stroll in the town and see our kingdom's armory."
The captain of the guard couldn't help but lower his head and curl his lip, thinking to himself, 'Pride brings suffering.'
But he still stuck close behind Prince Kit.
So Wang Bo ordered his men to arrange for the thousands of Flower Town residents, then took Prince Kit and slowly strolled through Goldpan Town.
Goldpan Town had the most blacksmith shops. Wang Bo, Prince Kit, and the captain walked along the street, seeing blacksmiths with bare upper bodies either working the bellows or hammering ironware.
The clanging sounds were incessant.
After Prince Kit got used to the poor air, his gaze gradually became curious. He had seen blacksmiths before, but he had never seen so many blacksmiths hammering iron at once.
Seeing one rapier after another take shape under the blacksmiths' hammers, Prince Kit was filled with wonder.
Wang Bo was actually similar. Unlike Prince Kit, as a modern person, he had never really seen blacksmiths, at most some scenes on TV.
But those blacksmiths were either fake or used modern techniques.
He had truly never seen a traditional craftsman blacksmith like this.
When Wang Bo passed a blacksmith shop, he noticed a weapon rack at the entrance filled with various weapons.
Wang Bo casually picked up a longsword and swung it in the air a few times. The blade tore through the air, making a whooshing sound.
A young apprentice came out of the shop with a flattering smile. "This is an excellent sword. This longsword suits you perfectly, sir. It is one of Master Lante's finest works. For just three gold coins, you can own it."
Wang Bo smiled and casually tossed the longsword back, landing it exactly in its original spot.
He had only been curious. In fact, he had no need for such ordinary weapons. A single Nine Yang Sword Qi could deal with most enemies.
If Nine Yang Sword Qi couldn't handle an enemy, this longsword would be useless anyway.
Goldpan Town was not large. In about an hour, they had walked around the entire town. By then, it was completely dark.
The captain of the guard suggested going to a tavern for a meal.
Wang Bo agreed. He wanted to taste the food in Goldpan Town and see how it differed from Flower Town's.
The three of them came to a tavern they had passed earlier, pushed open the door, and walked in.
Instantly, a lively clamor greeted them. Wang Bo looked around and saw that the tavern was almost full—soldiers, miners, residents, and of course, one of the specialties of an otherworldly tavern.
Dancers!
In the West, the dancers in taverns were actually similar to the girls in the pleasure quarters of the East. Perhaps for just a few copper coins, they would spend the night with you.
Wang Bo wasn't sure if the dancers in this other world were the same, but when he saw a seductive blonde woman standing on a table, shaking her skirt and doing a tap dance, he became more certain of his guess.
The three found an empty table and sat down. A waiter came over and asked with a smile, "What would you three like?"
Wang Bo tossed a gold coin and said, "The best food, of course."
The waiter nodded knowingly. "Please wait a moment, sir."
