Chapter 031: Begging for Mercy

获得主角能力的我只想过平凡生活 · 第031章 求饶

For Wang Bo, who had watched The Hobbit, Smaug was no stranger.

It was the last recorded dragon in Middle-earth, generally considered a descendant of Ancalagon or Glaurung. It was a massive, evil dragon with a pale red-gold hue.

Thus Smaug was sometimes called Smaug the Golden or Smaug the Magnificent.

This creature was over a hundred meters long, close to a hundred and fifty meters—an absolute behemoth.

The dragon Wang Bo had left here was also huge, but only about thirty meters in length. Compared to an ordinary person, it was certainly a behemoth, but even so, its length was less than a third of Smaug's.

Compared to Smaug, it was practically a little brother.

No wonder it was beaten by Smaug until it cried for mercy.

The dragon that had just fallen from the sky, smashing a building, was clearly Wang Bo's dragon. Already battered and barely alive, it couldn't even struggle to stand up from the rubble.

Wang Bo shook his head and teleported in front of it.

This dragon from the Marvel universe, seeing its master appear, couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief and said weakly, "Forgive me, my master. I have brought shame upon you."

Wang Bo shook his head and said, "It's all right. The enemy was too strong. I'll send you back to recover first."

He casually stuffed the Horse Talisman into the dragon's claw and then sent it back to the Time Villa.

"Hmm?"

Smaug, standing atop a building, saw its kind suddenly vanish and shifted its gaze, spotting Wang Bo.

Wang Bo flashed a bright smile at Smaug.

In an instant, Smaug felt a chill rise from within its dragon bones.

This was bad.

Its instincts told it that this human was very dangerous, so Smaug spread its wings, intending to take to the sky and put distance between itself and the human.

But the next second, Smaug's eyes lost sight of the human.

Then, a tremendous force struck its abdomen.

The force was so powerful, like an overwhelming tide, irresistible. Even Smaug felt its scales shatter, and the immense impact sent its massive body flying.

Whoosh!

In an instant, Smaug shot into the sky, flying hundreds of meters before flapping its wings to steady itself. But the intense pain made it roar in agony.

Roar!!!

Yet before it could vent, the next second, Wang Bo appeared before Smaug and kicked out.

With a dull thud, Smaug felt as if its head was about to be kicked in. The tremendous impact made it impossible to keep its balance, and its massive body spun through the air, plummeting from the sky.

But before it could hit the ground, a third attack struck its body.

In that instant, Smaug felt like a ball being kicked around.

This drove the proud Smaug nearly mad; it had never been so bullied before.

"How dare you..."

Bang!

"Treat the great..."

Bang!

"...like this!"

Bang!

"I'll kill you!"

Bang!

Wang Bo, expressionless, teleported back and forth through the void, kicking Smaug like a soccer ball, the thumping sounds echoing in the air.

Even though Smaug was furious to the point of madness, it could never turn the tide.

These days, he had been basking in the sun, his strength increasing rapidly. Even without magical enhancement, Wang Bo's strength had reached the tens of thousands of tons level; a casual blow could destroy a skyscraper.

With Ripple enhancement, magical enhancement, and Nine Suns True Qi enhancement, Wang Bo's strength could even soar to tens of thousands of tons, approaching a hundred thousand tons.

With such power, kicking Smaug away was no trouble at all.

Smaug was indeed massive, but its weight definitely did not exceed ten thousand tons; otherwise, it couldn't fly. So Wang Bo had no trouble kicking it away.

Moreover, aside from breathing fire, Smaug didn't even know magic, making it impossible to block Wang Bo's attacks.

This barrage of kicks lasted about five minutes.

Eventually, Wang Bo grew bored and kicked Smaug several kilometers away, out of the capital, crashing with a rumble into a dense forest.

Smaug's massive body destroyed countless trees, crushed who knows how many animals, and left a scar hundreds of meters long in the forest before finally stopping.

By now, about half of its bones were broken. Its wings had been shattered by Wang Bo's kicks, making flight impossible.

But Wang Bo knew that such injuries were nothing to a dragon; after a year or so of recovery, Smaug would be a vigorous evil dragon again.

For now, though, it was done for. Its scales were cracked all over, bones broken, blood slowly seeping through the fissures, its entire body drenched in blood—as miserable as could be.

It lay weakly in the dirt, its once proud head hanging limply on the ground, its huge dragon eyes filled with terror. If it had been proud at first, now it knew that its pride was worthless in the face of the other's strength. It had no right to be proud.

With its strength, it was no match for that attacker; the opponent's terror far exceeded its imagination.

Even the Dark Lord Sauron was probably no more than this.

When Wang Bo appeared before Smaug, Smaug's heart was filled with fear. It knew well the praise heaped upon dragon slayers, but it really didn't want to become the dragon that was slain.

"Great... human, spare me... please spare me." The proud and arrogant Smaug, at the brink of life and death, finally begged Wang Bo for mercy. It wanted to live, not to die like this.

"Sure," Wang Bo agreed.

Smaug was taken aback, looking at Wang Bo suspiciously. It had begged for mercy, but the other had agreed too quickly, as if without any thought.

This made Smaug involuntarily wonder: wasn't he just messing with me? Pretending to agree, letting me rejoice first, and then when I'm relieved, he'll cut off my head?

Smaug had done this many times.

Back when it was throwing its weight around, many people had begged for mercy. Smaug would pretend to agree, and then, when they were relieved, it would breathe a jet of flame and burn them to death.

Watching their expressions shift from despair to the thrill of escaping death, then to utter despair—Smaug found it incredibly satisfying.

Now, this despicable human wasn't going to do the same, was he?
