Chapter 5: A Chance to Continue

Rachel couldn't help but take a deep breath, organizing her words, determined to comfort Wang Bo.

If things went smoothly, she might earn a big boost in his favor, and then she could drag him along to drown their sorrows in drink. When both were drunk, they could return to the room together—everything would fall into place, all without words.

Once the rice was cooked, she'd like to see how this clueless guy could still evade.

Every time she thought about how it was always the man chasing the woman, but here she was, the woman chasing the man, Rachel felt a sense of weariness.

But who could she blame? She had fallen for this taciturn guy.

After coming out of the Time Villa, Xiao Bai didn't mind Wang Bo's little gesture. In her view, Wang Bo kissing her was a sign of affection, nothing to fuss over.

She was more concerned about the surroundings. Her eyes darted around, and she found that the place she was in seemed very similar to the modern rooms in movies, yet somehow different.

"Where is this place?" Xiao Bai asked.

Although Wang Bo often made Xiao Bai and Xiao Qing watch movies in the previous world, making them not entirely unfamiliar with the modern world, that unfamiliarity was merely understanding.

After all, Xiao Bai and Xiao Qing were ancient people; they had never truly set foot in the modern world. This was their first time.

It was no wonder they felt strange here.

"We're in a Jaeger base now, also the largest base in the world..." Wang Bo briefly introduced his location to Xiao Bai and Xiao Qing.

humanity had to take a shortcut, rapidly advance in technology, master wormhole technology, and ultimately invade the world where the Precursors resided, utterly destroying their race.

"For example, when you wake up one day and suddenly find that almost all of humanity on Earth has died," Wang Bo said.

So Wang Bo hoped they would adapt to local customs and change into modern attire.

Xiaobai had no objection to this and nodded readily.

Xiaoqing, however, said reluctantly, "I don't really like those clothes. They're too flimsy and not comfortable at all."
