Chapter 018: Setting Off Again

获得主角能力的我只想过平凡生活 · 第018章 再次启程

Wang Bo said with a hint of complaint, "You know, Lara, every Lara Croft in the world of Tomb Raider faces a world-class organization that uses Lara Croft to track down what they want."

"In your world, that organization is called Trinity."

"But in this world, that organization is called the Illuminati."

"And your father's death is inseparable from these organizations."

Lara was taken aback upon hearing this. "Wasn't my father a suicide?"

In her world, her father Richard was a prominent archaeologist, but in his later years, he began to pursue mystical powers and seek immortality.

This behavior was ridiculed by other archaeologists, and many believed Richard had gone mad.

Richard even lost his reputation because of this, becoming a laughingstock to countless people.

Even Lara herself could not understand her father's actions, and once had a strained relationship with him. Later, her father died in his study.

Lara had always thought her father couldn't bear the external pressure and committed suicide.

But now, from Wang Bo's words, she heard a different answer.

"Without a doubt, your father did not die by suicide," Wang Bo said. "Just as Richard in this world died at the hands of the Illuminati, in your world, your father Richard died at the hands of Trinity."

"Trinity!" Lara forcibly suppressed the anger in her heart and etched that name into her memory. She swore that if she ever encountered members of Trinity in the future, she would show no mercy.

"Don't rush, Lara." Wang Bo patted Lara on the shoulder to comfort her. "You will deal with Trinity, but before that, we must deal with another world."

Lara knew what Wang Bo was referring to and nodded affirmatively. "Yes, we should save my friends. You will help me, right?"

"Of course, we're friends. If I don't help you, who will?"

"Thank you."

"You're welcome, Lara." Wang Bo said with a smile. "But before saving your friends, you need to arm yourself—fully arm yourself."

"I think I'm already fully armed." Lara raised the two pistols in her hands.

"Not enough, far from enough." Wang Bo shook his head. "You need to understand one thing, Lara: you're not facing ordinary people, but Himiko, who possesses mystical powers. So you need to have mystical powers too, like magic!"

As he spoke, Wang Bo reached into his four-dimensional pocket and pulled out a treasure he hadn't used in a long time—one that could elevate someone to greatness instantly.

"What is this?" Lara looked at the oil lamp in Wang Bo's hand and asked in surprise.

"Have you read 'One Thousand and One Nights'?"

Lara nodded.

"This is the lamp from 'One Thousand and One Nights.'"

"Aladdin's Magic Lamp!!!!" Lara couldn't help but exclaim. After all, she was a modern person; how could she not know about that lamp from 'One Thousand and One Nights'?

"How do you have Aladdin's Magic Lamp?"

"I once entered Aladdin's world and copied this lamp." Wang Bo said with a grin. "Now, you can use it to make a wish and become a powerful wizard."

"Can I?" Lara asked uncertainly.

"Of course you can." Wang Bo handed the lamp to Lara.

Laura took the magic lamp and rubbed it a few times as described in the Arabian Nights. The red lamp spirit slowly emerged from the spout, hovering before Laura. "At your service, my master. What is your wish?"

"I want to become a powerful wizard."

The lamp spirit smiled slightly and said, "This wish is very easy, my master."

He rubbed his hands together, channeling his magic. A whirlwind rose from Laura's feet, gradually enveloping her entire body.

When the whirlwind disappeared, Laura had transformed into a woman dressed in Arabian attire.

She waved her hand, and her clothes automatically changed back to her previous outfit, turning her into a modern person again.

"Amazing, this is truly amazing," Laura said excitedly. "I feel that I can now do many incredible things."

She raised her hand and pointed. The shattered hall began to repair itself at an astonishing speed. In the blink of an eye, the hall was restored to its original state—or rather, to how it looked a thousand years ago when it was first built.

Magnificent and solemn.

The power of a wizard far exceeded Laura's imagination.

She returned the lamp to Wang Bo, who said, "Don't you want to make more wishes? A person can make three wishes."

But Laura was not greedy. She shook her head and said, "I have already gained great power. I can achieve the rest with the power of paper, including avenging my father's murder."

As she said this, her eyes blazed with anger.

Wang Bo couldn't help but feel sorry for Trinity. A grown-up Laura could already defeat them, but a wizard-like Laura would utterly destroy them.

Even though Trinity was a very ancient organization, stopping Laura was still impossible.

A wizard's power might not be enough to deal with a country, but dealing with an organization was too easy.

Even if it was a world-class organization.

Wang Bo put away the magic lamp and took out the Moonlight Box. Laura couldn't help asking, "What's that?"

"A treasure that can travel through time and space," Wang Bo said.

Laura then remembered that Wang Bo had said he came back from one year in the future to save her.

This made her a bit envious. "What exactly happened to you after we parted? Why do you have so many good things?"

"It's a long story."

After parting with Laura, Wang Bo had gone through more than a dozen worlds and indeed experienced many things.

Since there was still time, Wang Bo briefly told Laura about it.

Laura listened with great interest, occasionally gasping in surprise.

After the sun set and the moon rose, Wang Bo placed the Moonlight Box on the ground. "Now, let's go back a month ago to save your companions."

If Wang Bo remembered correctly, according to Himiko's memories, a month ago was when Himiko awakened and possessed Samantha.

Laura quickly nodded and asked, "Can this thing take two people back a month?"

"I'm not sure, but to be safe, stay in my Time Villa for a while," Wang Bo said, and then he threw Laura into his Time Villa.

Then, standing in the moonlight, he recited the spell for the Moonlight Box to travel through time and space.

"Prajna Paramita!"
