Chapter 024: Origin
获得主角能力的我只想过平凡生活 · 第024章 来历
But now, even an angel feared this evil energy, and Wang Bo couldn't help but grow curious.
What exactly was this energy?
Wang Bo recalled that in the plot of Middle-earth, the Balrog didn't seem to have mutated or gained any evil energy.
If Gandalf wasn't mistaken, then this mutation of the Balrog was worth pondering.
The first thing Wang Bo thought of was a transmigrator. Could it be that some powerful transmigrator had appeared and found the Balrog, causing its mutation?
Just as Wang Bo was utterly perplexed, Gandalf said, “I wish to ask Your Majesty, do you know what this evil energy is?”
Wang Bo shook his head and said, “I don’t know either.”
Gandalf said slowly, “Does Your Majesty truly know nothing?”
Wang Bo raised an eyebrow and looked at Gandalf with a half-smile. “Gandalf, your words carry deep meaning.”
Gandalf gave Wang Bo a long, hard look and said slowly, “I hope Your Majesty can resolve a doubt of mine?”
“Please speak.”
“Who exactly is Your Majesty?”
Middle-earth might seem vast, but to a Maia who had lived there for over a thousand years, it wasn't that big. Gandalf knew exactly how many experts there were in Middle-earth.
In Gandalf’s memory, those in Middle-earth who could defeat Smaug single-handedly could be counted on one hand, and this man before him was not among them.
At first, when he heard that someone had defeated Smaug and occupied the Lonely Mountain, Gandalf was greatly astonished.
He thought a new Maia had appeared.
But when he met Wang Bo, Gandalf realized Wang Bo was not a Maia. His life force was astonishingly immense, far surpassing even many Maiar.
Thus, Gandalf was curious: what was Wang Bo? Not a Maia, yet not like a human either, especially with a strange aura about him.
Connecting this to the mutation of the Balrog in Khazad-dûm, Gandalf hesitated for a long time before finally deciding to probe Wang Bo.
Wang Bo naturally knew what Gandalf was thinking, but he had no intention of hiding anything. He said bluntly, “I am an envoy of the Multiverse God, Gandalf.”
“Multiverse God?” Gandalf looked bewildered.
Wang Bo straightforwardly explained his identity and the purpose of his arrival in this world to Gandalf. He had already told this to many people, so one more made no difference.
More importantly, Wang Bo wasn't just speaking to Gandalf; he was also speaking to Manwë, the God of the Air behind Gandalf, and to Eru Ilúvatar.
Wang Bo claimed to be an envoy of the Multiverse God precisely to borrow that authority.
After all, Eru Ilúvatar, who created Middle-earth, was undoubtedly at the level of a single-universe god, and among the most supreme. In the modern world, he was essentially no different from the God of mythology.
Wang Bo naturally had to be cautious.
After hearing Wang Bo’s words, Gandalf seemed to understand something. “So, Your Majesty truly doesn’t know why the Balrog mutated?”
Wang Bo nodded. Since everything was out in the open, he no longer held back and said bluntly, “I’m not entirely sure why the Balrog mutated, but I suspect it might be related to a transmigrator?”
“A traveler from another universe, like Your Majesty?”
“Exactly.” Wang Bo nodded.
“If I heard correctly, Your Majesty said your purpose is to send these travelers who have strayed into this world back to their original worlds?”
“Yes.”
Gandalf couldn’t help but smile. “In that case, would Your Majesty be willing to go with me to Khazad-dûm to see why the Balrog mutated?”
Wang Bo thought it over and didn’t refuse. In truth, he was also somewhat interested in the Balrog’s mutation. Besides, since Gandalf himself had invited him, he went along with it. “Alright, when do we set off?”
“The sooner the better. Ideally, we leave now.” Gandalf was anxious about the Balrog’s mutation and wanted to get to the bottom of it. With the dwarves’ matter resolved, he wished to deal with the Balrog issue as soon as possible.
Wang Bo agreed readily. “Alright, but before that, I have a small matter to attend to.”
Gandalf naturally had no objection.
Wang Bo led Gandalf to the treasure room. When Gandalf saw the sleeping Smaug, his heart pounded, for he sensed a powerful magic emanating from Smaug.
This was something Smaug had never possessed before. Now, Smaug had grown even stronger.
Gandalf felt that if he fought Smaug with his current strength, he would likely be killed. Clearly, Smaug’s transformation was definitely connected to Wang Bo.
He regarded Wang Bo with even greater respect.
Wang Bo took Gandalf through the portal to Arendelle. Gandalf immediately felt he had arrived in a new world, entirely different from Middle-earth.
But he merely glanced at Wang Bo and said nothing.
Wang Bo paid it no mind. The portal was anchored in the palace of Arendelle. After stepping through, Wang Bo found Elsa and Anna having breakfast.
When Gandalf saw Elsa, he couldn’t help but marvel, for he sensed the immense power within her.
It was a power that humans could never hope to match, yet it resided in a young girl.
If this girl grew up, how terrifying would that power become?
“Teacher!”
Elsa and Anna were overjoyed to see Wang Bo. They quickly jumped down from their chairs and threw themselves into his arms.
Wang Bo picked up both girls, one in each arm.
The girls’ parents stood up from their chairs and said with a smile, “Welcome to Arendelle.”
Wang Bo exchanged pleasantries with them, introduced Gandalf, and then stated his purpose. “Actually, I may need to handle some matters with Gandalf over the next few days. So, Anna and Elsa, you don’t need to come to the Lonely Mountain. Just practice magic at home.”
“After I finish this business, I’ll come back to see Elsa and Anna and check on their progress in learning magic. What do you two think?”
To Elsa and Anna’s parents, Wang Bo was their benefactor, so they naturally wouldn’t refuse such a small request and readily agreed.
Elsa and Anna, however, were quite reluctant. The thought of not seeing their teacher for a while made them gloomy.
Wang Bo ruffled both girls’ hair vigorously, comforted them, and made a promise: when he returned, he would bring them gifts.
Only then did the two little girls brighten up.
Afterward, Wang Bo left Arendelle and returned to the Lonely Mountain.
