Chapter 002: The Performance

获得主角能力的我只想过平凡生活 · 第002章 表演

Wang Bo brought Hela to the world of Ghost Rider. Today happened to be Johnny Blaze’s performance day, so he bought two tickets and brought her to the show.

“Why did you bring me here?” Hela asked, puzzled. The roaring crowd around her made her impatient; if not for Wang Bo being there, she would have killed all these foolish mortals.

“I brought you to see a performance,” Wang Bo said. But as he spoke, his gaze wandered, scanning the crowd.

“A human performance?” Hela sneered. “You brought me to watch a human performance.”

“That’s right.”

Wang Bo nodded, still scanning the surroundings.

Hela noticed his distraction and seemed to understand something. She too began to scan the area, even using special magic to observe the environment.

But the result was nothing, which made Hela uncertain. Could he really have brought her to watch a human performance?

Yet judging by his demeanor, it didn’t seem so.

Just then, the crowd erupted. The audience in the stands stood up and cheered loudly:

“Johnny, Johnny, Johnny, Johnny…”

This fervent atmosphere reminded Hela of the days when she and her father Odin conquered the Nine Realms. Back then, every time they appeared, they were met with thunderous cheers.

Asgardian warriors were stirred by their arrival.

Enemies trembled at their coming.

Unfortunately, those days were gone. The once ambitious Odin had decayed; he had sheathed his fangs, content to guard the Nine Realms, his former ambition lost.

Now he was like an old, toothless lion.

Only she could make Asgard stand at the pinnacle of the universe. Only she was the true king of Asgard.

As Hela reminisced, from a distant passageway, a rider in a white suit with red patterns rode out on a motorcycle into the vast arena.

Hela immediately saw the rider’s extraordinary nature.

A spirit of vengeance from hell lay dormant within the rider, who seemed unaware of it.

“Interesting. Is this why you brought me to watch this performance?” Hela turned to ask Wang Bo beside her.

Wang Bo scanned the surroundings several times but found no suspicious person. He sighed, realizing he might have guessed wrong—the target of that otherworld traveler was not Johnny Blaze.

He withdrew his thoughts and nodded. “That’s one reason. Do you know what’s lurking inside that man?”

“A spirit of vengeance from hell.”

“You could say that.” Wang Bo didn’t argue. The origin of the Ghost Rider had several versions—the Spirit of Vengeance, the Medallion of Power, and Zarathos. Even Wang Bo wasn’t sure, so he didn’t bother to explain.

Regardless, Johnny Blaze was indeed the Ghost Rider.

As for the origin, Wang Bo couldn’t be bothered.

Hela asked curiously, “Who planted this spirit in that human?”

“Mephisto, a lord of hell,” Wang Bo said. “He’s very powerful. If you can defeat him and devour his power, you might be able to challenge Odin.”

Hela thought it was a good idea, but she didn’t agree immediately.

As Odin’s daughter and the first heir to Asgard’s throne, she knew well what kind of beings hell lords were. Some were weak and easily crushed; others were as powerful as her father.

So without knowing Mephisto’s strength, Hela wasn’t ready to act against him.

While Wang Bo and Hela talked, Johnny Blaze suddenly revved his motorcycle and, in the blink of an eye, leaped across the three-hundred-foot arena and the six Black Hawk helicopters parked on the field.

The moment he landed, the crowd erupted in thunderous cheers.

No one had expected Johnny Blaze to actually do it. The legendary rider had leaped across the three-hundred-foot arena, accomplishing a feat in human history.

This feat would surely be recorded in history and earn a Guinness World Record.

Apart from Johnny, probably no one else could achieve this.

Wang Bo knew exactly what this record was. Three hundred feet was about a hundred meters; jumping a hundred meters on a motorcycle was indeed astonishing.

In the ordinary world, no one but Johnny could do it, so the uproar was inevitable.

The news would surely make a big deal of it.

But interestingly, just as people were about to surround Johnny and worship him, he rode his motorcycle out of the arena in a flash, leaving everyone behind.

Hela watched Johnny’s retreating figure and said softly, “I want the spirit inside that man.”

“You can do as you please.” Wang Bo knew that Johnny Blaze hated the spirit inside him. If Hela could take it away, it wouldn’t be a bad thing.

“But remember, the spirit was placed in Johnny by Mephisto. If you take it, you’ll alert him, and he might fight you to the death.”

Hela’s eyes flickered a few times before she said slowly, “No one can stop me.”

Though her words were full of conviction, Hela didn’t rush in. Instead, she decided to observe first. If Mephisto wasn’t as powerful as she feared, she would take the spirit.

If Mephisto was stronger than she imagined, she would find an opportunity to take the spirit and then return to the Mummy world.

She didn’t believe Mephisto could cross the multiverse, no matter how powerful he was.

Instinct told Hela that Mephisto wasn’t that formidable.

If Wang Bo knew Hela’s thoughts, he would have told her she was dreaming. But he was too disappointed to notice her expression.

He had originally thought that the traveler who could freely enter this world was after Johnny.

But until now, Wang Bo hadn’t noticed any suspicious person around.

So Wang Bo had to admit he might have guessed wrong. That traveler wasn’t after Johnny Blaze, the Ghost Rider.

In that case, why had the traveler come to this world?

Wang Bo began to think calmly. Just then, a flash of inspiration struck him, and he thought of a possibility.

He was after another traveler!
