Chapter 008: A Future Without the Professor

获得主角能力的我只想过平凡生活 · 第008章 没有教授的未来

In the West, there is a saying: everything that passes leaves a trace.

Coincidentally, in the East, there is a similar saying: the wind leaves marks as it passes, the wild goose leaves a shadow as it flies.

Since the Professor had been here, things would be easy.

After Wang Bo and Deadpool left the manor, they took out Friday and had Friday connect to the world's network to search for the Professor's trail.

After connecting to the network, Friday began searching for traces of the Professor from a month ago—how he had arrived and how he had left.

The Professor was powerful, no doubt, but he could delete human memories, not the memories of machines.

Although he could manipulate humans to delete machine memories, Wang Bo figured the Professor probably wouldn't do that, because everyone knew what kind of person the Professor was.

Unless necessary, he probably wouldn't casually enter a human's mind.

Of course, this move by Wang Bo made Deadpool exclaim involuntarily, "Oh oh oh, what do I see, a Transformer? That's just incredible. Buddy, you know what? I'm just like you; I've always wanted a Transformer, preferably Optimus Prime, because that would be so cool."

"Shut up." Wang Bo coldly scolded, making a gesture to snap his fingers and cast a spell.

Deadpool quickly covered his mouth.

But within a few seconds, he kept mumbling, "Where did you get that Transformer? Did the writer give it to you? Why do you have a Transformer? And you still haven't told me who you really are, which Saint you came from. The writer is way too..."

Snap!

Wang Bo crisply snapped his fingers, sealing Deadpool's mouth shut, and the world instantly fell silent.

Before long, Friday found records of Professor X's visit and also images of his departure. By analyzing and even accessing satellite data, it effortlessly located the Professor's current address.

Wang Bo slapped Deadpool's shoulder and said, "Let's go. We'll go see the Professor now."

This was the easiest time Wang Bo had ever had finding a traveler.

Not long after the start, he had already found both travelers.

The next second, Wang Bo teleported, bringing Deadpool to an ordinary hotel room.

It was now three in the morning.

Charles Professor, who was sleeping in bed, heard the noise, suddenly opened his eyes, fumbled to turn on the bedside lamp, and found two extra people in his room.

One was a black-haired, black-eyed Eastern man, and the other was a man with a pockmarked, ugly face.

"Who are you?" Professor Charles looked warily at Wang Bo and Deadpool, his telepathic ability ready to spring; if either made a move, he would not hesitate to control them.

Wang Bo turned to look at Deadpool, "He doesn't know you?"

Wang Bo had always thought Deadpool came to see Professor Charles because they knew each other.

Deadpool said, "Of course he doesn't know me. After all, he hasn't even gone bald yet."

Wang Bo then realized that this Professor Charles indeed still had a full head of hair. "So you mean you don't know Apocalypse yet?"

"Who is Apocalypse?" Charles sensed a strong malice from their conversation. Could it be that after knowing Apocalypse, he would go bald? Was Apocalypse a barber?

Wang Bo shook his head, walked to the sofa, and sat down. "Since we don't know each other, let's introduce ourselves. I am Wang Bo, Professor Charles."

"You know me?" Professor Charles's eyes showed some excitement.

"Of course. The famous Professor X, one of the leaders of the mutants. Of course I know you."

"And this is?" Professor Charles looked at Deadpool.

Wang Bo lifted the spell, and after regaining his freedom, Deadpool couldn't wait to say:

"I'm Deadpool. Maybe you don't know me now, but you will in the future. Trust me. But can you tell Colossus not to recruit me into the X-Men? I have no interest in the X-Men. That place isn't for me. Actually, I have my own team, still forming. What do you think of the name X-Force? This is my..."

"Are you a mutant?" Professor Charles was both surprised and delighted, interrupting Deadpool before he could finish.

Knowing about the X-Men, he must be from the same world as himself.

Most likely a mutant.

But who was Colossus? He didn't know him.

"You'll meet Colossus, in the near future." Deadpool saw Professor Charles's confusion and said slowly.

Charles immediately realized, "You've also come back from the future, like Logan."

Seeing Professor Charles's reaction, Wang Bo knew that the other had already experienced the plot of X-Men: Days of Future Past.

"No, no, no. We're different from Logan. He only brought back memories, but I came back entirely." Deadpool rambled on, "Compared to that old wolf, I think I..."

Professor Charles seemed to understand what kind of person Deadpool was, so he decisively asked, "After I left that world, what exactly happened?"

Wang Bo was also curious why Deadpool came to find a non-bald Professor Charles. Logically, the two shouldn't know each other now.

Deadpool shrugged and said, "Simple. After you left, the X-Men were without a leader. Just then, Apocalypse awakened, allied with Magneto and others, and took over the world. Humans became slaves to mutants. Apocalypse became a god, and humanity lived in misery."

Professor Charles was startled and couldn't help asking, "Who exactly is this Apocalypse?"

"The oldest mutant. As early as 3000 BC, he ruled Egypt. By the way, the pyramids were built by him. He controlled Egypt back then but was defeated by humans due to carelessness. That guy is really pitiful—buried underground for thousands of years until after you left, when he woke up."

"Then he defeated the leaderless X-Men and ruled over humanity. Sounds unbelievable, right? But unfortunately, it's all true. Even Magneto was his subordinate. Humans simply couldn't fight that monster."

Hearing this, Wang Bo couldn't help asking, "What about Jean Grey?"

He remembered that it was Jean Grey who unleashed the Phoenix Force and killed Apocalypse. Although Professor Charles was gone, there was still Jean Grey.

Deadpool said, "When Jean Grey tried to stop Apocalypse, the Phoenix Force inside her went berserk, killing most of the X-Men, and then she disappeared. After that, Apocalypse had no more opponents."
