Chapter 010: Sending a Helper

获得主角能力的我只想过平凡生活 · 第010章 派个帮手

"Excuse me, you two."

Wang Bo saw that Professor Charles and Deadpool were chatting enthusiastically, completely ignoring his opinion. He couldn't help but clap his hands to draw their attention, then said slowly, "Although what you just said was good, there's one thing I'd like to remind you of."

Deadpool said, "What do you want to say?"

Wang Bo said, "What I want to say is, I'm not interested in Apocalypse, and I won't help you fight him."

"Hey, buddy, you can't do that." Deadpool panicked when he heard Wang Bo didn't want to help them deal with Apocalypse. "You know, that's Apocalypse. Without your help, how could we possibly beat him?"

Deadpool was confident in his own abilities, but even though he could mess around thanks to his immortality, going up against Apocalypse with his strength was basically suicide. Now that they finally had a Saint to help, if he didn't step in, could he and Charles and the X-Men really beat Apocalypse?

Sure, in the storyline, they won. But what if it was plot armor? What if some small mistake happened?

If anything went wrong, they'd be in big trouble.

"You have to understand, you're a Saint who upholds justice. Against a villain like Apocalypse, you should strike hard. Defeating Apocalypse means saving the world. Trust me, buddy, the goddess Athena will be proud of you."

Wang Bo couldn't help but retort, "You clearly know my background, so why do you keep thinking I'm a Saint serving Athena?"

Deadpool: ...

Charles's eyes flickered a few times, and just as he was about to speak, Wang Bo suddenly said, "Although I'm not interested in Apocalypse, I can send one of my subordinates to give you a hand."

"Your subordinate?" Deadpool asked curiously, "Is your subordinate also a Saint? What's their name?"

"She's not a Saint. Her name is Faora."

"Never heard of her." Deadpool shook his head decisively. "You're not trying to fob us off with some nobody, are you? Buddy, that's Apocalypse, one of the oldest mutants in the world. You don't want your subordinate to die for nothing, right."

"Of course I won't let my subordinate die for nothing. And rest assured, with Faora's strength, defeating Apocalypse won't be a problem." Wang Bo guaranteed.

Deadpool asked, "Then can you tell me, who exactly is this Faora?"

"She's a Kryptonian."

"Alright, no problem. When will this big shot be coming?" Deadpool agreed without any hesitation.

Charles couldn't help asking, "What does Kryptonian mean? Is she an alien?"

Deadpool exclaimed loudly, "Charles, don't you read comics? That's a Kryptonian! DC's pillar, the fellow countryman of the superhero Superman."

Charles looked completely bewildered.

Deadpool couldn't help clicking his tongue a few times and said, "Poor Charles, let me tell you. Kryptonians are aliens. They can absorb sunlight to become infinitely powerful. The powerful Superman can blow out the sun with one breath, and even if his fellow countryman isn't as strong as Superman, she can still thrash Apocalypse."

Charles: ...

First Apocalypse, then Saints, then Kryptonians. Was this the world of the big shots? So many freaks existed in other worlds.

He didn't know what to say anymore.

Charles even worried a little: was it really a good idea to let such powerful monsters into his world? If they had ill intentions toward Earth, how could he protect Earth and the mutants?

But if he didn't accept their help, could he really defeat Apocalypse with his own abilities?

Charles fell into deep thought.

Wang Bo saw Professor Charles looking troubled and knew what he was thinking, but Wang Bo did not disturb Charles and let him think.

If Charles was unwilling to let Wang Bo send his men into his world, Wang Bo did not mind.

In that case, he would not bother to make any effort; he would just send him and Deadpool off, find Hela, spend a limited time with her, and then move on to the next world.

In the next world, he would continue to slack off.

But in the end, after a fierce mental struggle, Charles said, "I'm sorry to trouble you, Mr. Wang Bo. I think I need your help."

Wang Bo nodded and said, "Then come with me."

He took out a dimension-crossing door, pushed it open, and led Deadpool and Professor Charles back to Middle-earth first.

The treasure room.

Deadpool pushed Professor Charles in, and they looked up to see the dragon sleeping on a pile of gold and jewels.

"Wow, that's spectacular." Deadpool couldn't help but take out his camera and snap a few photos. "Can I take a picture with this dragon?"

Smaug caught the scent of strangers, lifted his eyelids to glance at Deadpool, then at Wang Bo, and closed his eyes again. He had no interest in the people Wang Bo brought.

Professor Charles couldn't help holding his breath and asked, "Where is this place? Why is there a dragon?"

"This is Middle-earth."

"Middle-earth?" Deadpool suddenly realized, "You mean this is Middle-earth? Then this dragon is Smaug?"

"That's right."

"Are you its friend?"

"To be precise, it's my subordinate," Wang Bo said casually.

"Oh ho, that's really impressive. You tamed the last dragon in Middle-earth." Deadpool sighed, rubbing his chin. "Is Gandalf a lot like Magneto?"

Charles was even more confused.

Who was Gandalf? Why would he be like Erik?

He felt that for some reason, he was out of sync with the two people in front of him, as if an invisible barrier separated him from them.

Whether it was the Saint Seiya, the Kryptonians, or Gandalf, it was all the same.

Wang Bo picked up the camera, took a picture of Deadpool and Smaug together, and said, "No, the two are not alike at all. Even though they are played by the same actor, you know that's just a movie. In the real world, the two have nothing in common."

"That's a shame. I was hoping to take a picture with Gandalf," Deadpool said, looking disappointed.

Wang Bo ignored him, turned to Charles, and shook the camera in his hand. "Would you like one?"

"No, thanks," Charles instinctively refused, but then he thought that having a picture with a dragon might be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and finally nodded.

"Alright, just one. Thank you for the trouble."

"You're welcome." Wang Bo had Deadpool push the wheelchair to bring Charles next to Smaug, raised the camera, took a few pictures, and casually tossed the camera to Deadpool.

"After you develop the photos, don't forget to send them to Charles."
