Chapter 1091 Future Group
Rebirth of a Perfect Future · 第1091章 未来集团
The days back in the capital passed quickly, and before long it was mid-July.
Under Zhao Fusheng's introduction, Ye Jing officially joined Future Film and Television as deputy general manager. Although others in the company were curious about this, Bai Jie welcomed it with open arms.
Not only that, after Ye Jing joined, Bai Jie handed over all domestic affairs to him and went to Hong Kong to oversee the filming of *Kung Fu Hustle*.
Zhao Fusheng was secretly delighted.
Why do men always prefer mature women?
Because when you pat her on the bottom, she knows to change positions.
With a young girl, hah, she'd just ask if you had a screw loose or some weird fetish—why else would you slap her ass?
In a way, Zhao Fusheng's thinking wasn't wrong.
Ye Jing was decisive and began a sweeping reorganization of Future Film and Television, using his connections to establish ties with several TV stations.
Despite the so-called alliance, Ye Jing still had some friends. They might not buy the broadcast rights to his own productions, but cooperation with Future Film and Television was still possible.
Around this time, Zheng Yao finally showed her mettle as a strong woman, driving the geniuses of the Future Advertising Strategy Research Department to the brink and eventually hammering out a plan.
"Not bad, I'm fairly satisfied with this." Looking at the plan in his hands, Zhao Fusheng smiled and said to Zheng Yao before him.
Hearing this, Zheng Yao breathed a long sigh of relief, as if she'd heard heavenly music.
"What, am I that terrifying?" Zhao Fusheng asked with a smile.
Rolling her eyes at him, Zheng Yao said irritably, "You think? Even though you rarely come to the office, those executives are scared to death of you."
Zhao Fusheng was speechless. He hadn't expected his mysterious approach to put so much pressure on the executives.
"Go prepare and start the integration plan as soon as possible," Zhao Fusheng said to Zheng Yao after a moment's thought.
He'd dragged it out long enough and didn't want to delay further. The sooner resource integration began, the better.
"Alright, I understand." Zheng Yao nodded and took her leave.
As the CEO of the newly formed Future Group, this was her responsibility.
Zheng Yao was highly efficient. Half a month later, by the end of July, she reported to Zhao Fusheng that the integration plan was essentially complete.
"Then let's begin," Zhao Fusheng said calmly into the phone to Zheng Yao.
This time, his tone wasn't consultative but commanding.
Zheng Yao paused on the other end, then her expression turned serious. She knew that from this moment, Zhao Fusheng was no longer just her partner but the helmsman of Future Group.
……
……
August 1, 2004, Army Day.
Without fanfare or a press conference, all employees of Future Film and Television, Future Investment, and Future Advertising received an internal notice that day.
"Effective immediately, Future Film and Television, Future Advertising, and Future Investment will merge into Future Group. Personnel appointments are as follows…"
A lengthy announcement appeared on the company's internal network. Senior management had long known about it, department heads had gotten wind, and now it was time to reassure the staff.
Future Group comprised four subsidiaries: Future Film and Television Culture Company, Future Investment Fund, Future Advertising Company, and Future Network Technology Company.
Zheng Yao became General Manager and CEO of Future Group, while Bai Jie, former General Manager of Future Film and Television Culture Company, took the role of CFO and also served as Deputy General Manager of the group.
Ye Jing became General Manager of Future Film and Television Culture Company.
Dong Chenxi became General Manager of Future Investment Fund.
Dong Guoxiang became General Manager of Future Network Technology Company.
Among them, Ye Jing and Dong Chenxi, like Bai Jie, also served as Deputy General Managers of the group, while Dong Guoxiang did not hold that concurrent post but reported directly to the board.
These senior appointments caused no stir within the company, as these people had already been running their respective divisions.
The only thing that shocked everyone was this:
Future Group's major shareholder and chairman: Zhao Fusheng!
"That Zhao Fusheng?"
"The gold-medal planner?"
"What's going on? Did you know the company's chairman is that former planner?"
"Yeah, how is Teacher Zhao the chairman?"
All sorts of speculation flew around.
Even the film, advertising, and investment circles in the capital were buzzing. No one had expected that the mysterious gold-medal planner at Future Advertising was actually the company's real boss.
……
……
"Several people at my workplace have been asking about you," Fan Baobao said, curled up at home, to Zhao Fusheng.
Zhao Fusheng smiled. "Asking what?"
"About the studio project at the film company. A lot of people are interested. Teacher Dan Dan asked me today if she could join our company," Fan Baobao said while eating fruit.
Zhao Fusheng shrugged. "Tell her to contact Ye Jing. I don't handle that."
Fan Baobao nodded, indicating she understood.
"By the way, have you written the script outline for that film?" Fan Baobao asked after a moment.
Zhao Fusheng shook his head. "No time. I've been busy lately."
That was the truth. After returning to the capital, Xue Yuanfang happened to be there and dragged him to the Chang'an Club, where he was forced into a membership with a few friends.
It wasn't the top-tier Star membership, but at least an ordinary Platinum membership.
Zhao Fusheng had wanted to refuse but accepted after some thought. Regardless, it counted as a connection.
As a result, he was either pulled by Zheng Yao into integration meetings with senior management or dragged out by Xue Yuanfang for social engagements.
Fortunately, Zhao Fusheng didn't like drinking and kept his socializing moderate, or he'd have come home drunk every day.
As for the script he'd promised Jiang Wen, he simply had no time to write it.
"If you're tired, take a rest." Seeing his weary face, Fan Baobao said with concern. She could tell he was in bad shape, almost overworked.
Zhao Fusheng gave a wry smile and shook his head. "Just busy for now. It'll ease up after this."
He knew well that doing business, especially at this stage, required hard work. As the saying goes, one must endure hardship to rise above others. Easy success wasn't possible unless your father was Ma Xiaoyun or Ma Huateng; otherwise, you had to work hard.
"Are you really not going to give any interviews?"
Fan Baobao looked at his face, suddenly remembering something, and asked puzzledly, "I heard from Sister Dong that many media outlets are contacting the company hoping to interview you."
Zhao Fusheng's tired expression softened slightly, and he broke into a smile. "Oh? They're quick on the uptake."
Fan Baobao rolled her eyes. She couldn't be bothered to mock his pretentiousness, especially when he looked so worn out that it was pitiful.
"What, am I wrong?" Zhao Fusheng noticed her gesture and asked with a smile.
Fan Baobao pursed her lips. "Come on, Future Group's declared capital is a hundred million US dollars. In other words, as the major shareholder, you've instantly become the country's youngest billionaire. Do you think the media will let you go?"
She really didn't understand. On one hand, he revealed Future Group's assets; on the other, he refused media interviews and kept a low profile. What was he trying to do? What was his game?
