Chapter 1707: A Visit

Rebirth of a Perfect Future · 第1707章 参观

Speaking intimately with a stranger was something that would never happen to Zhao Fusheng; he never easily revealed his innermost thoughts to others.

Although he knew that Lee Boo-jin likely had something on her mind, Zhao Fusheng said nothing.

On the battlefield, there are no innocent soldiers.

By the same token, who among the children of wealthy families could stand aloof?

As the motorcade left Walkerhill, news spread throughout Seoul.

“Did you hear? Lee Boo-jin personally went to Walkerhill to pick someone up.”

“Not just one person—a man and a child.”

“A child?”

“Yes, it seems to be Lee Boo-jin’s illegitimate daughter…”

“So that means her divorce from Im Woo-jae had inside stories?”

“I don’t know. They say the man is from China.”

All kinds of rumors spread through Seoul’s high society; clearly, gossip is a universal human trait.

Zhao Fusheng didn’t feel much about it—or rather, he was completely unaware. After Lee Boo-jin escorted him to the Shilla Hotel, she took her leave. After all, it was still early, and even if a banquet were to be held in his honor, it wouldn’t be now.

“Brother, are we staying here another day?”

Fan Beibei clearly didn’t understand Zhao Fusheng’s actions and asked him in confusion.

Zhao Fusheng nodded: “More than a day. There are some people I need to meet here, so I can’t take you to Saipan just yet.”

“Alright…”

The little girl looked a bit disappointed and sighed: “Okay then. I really wanted to catch fish in the sea.”

“Catch fish?”

Hearing her words, Zhao Fusheng’s mouth twitched. He really wanted to tell her that fish weren’t so easy to catch by the seaside.

But seeing her cheerful expression, he decided against it.

“Brother, can I go play with Sister Song Qian?”

Fan Beibei suddenly thought of something and asked Zhao Fusheng seriously.

“Huh?”

Zhao Fusheng was taken aback, then laughed heartily: “Sure, I’ll have her come keep you company later, okay?”

“No, I want to go find her myself.” Fan Beibei shook her head.

Though the time was short, she really liked Song Qian, feeling that this older sister was not only beautiful but also very endearing.

“You go alone?”

Zhao Fusheng frowned, then shook his head: “That won’t do. I can’t let you go out by yourself.”

After a moment’s thought, Zhao Fusheng said to Fan Beibei: “How about this: if you want to go play with her, I’ll have Uncle Wu go with you, along with a few other uncles. They’ll protect you and Sister Song Qian, okay?”

“Hmm…” Fan Beibei thought for a long time, hesitating, looking very conflicted.

“What do you think?”

Zhao Fusheng smiled at Fan Beibei.

He knew very well that he would be extremely busy in the coming days. Wu Sijie didn’t understand Korean and would be of little use by his side, so he might as well have him accompany Fan Beibei.

As for how Fan Beibei and Song Qian would play, that was her business. Zhao Fusheng figured he wouldn’t have time for them anyway.

“Okay.”

After hesitating for a while, Fan Beibei finally nodded, accepting Zhao Fusheng’s arrangement.

Zhao Fusheng smiled, called Wu Sijie over, explained his plan, and said: “Have Park Sun-young take you to SM Entertainment. Find Kim Young-min or Lee Soo-man and ask them to arrange for Beibei to hang out with Song Qian for the next few days.”

After a moment’s thought, Zhao Fusheng added: “Go during the day and come back at night. If Beibei wants Song Qian to stay with her, bring her back with you at night, understand?”

“Rest assured, Chairman. I understand.” Wu Sijie quickly nodded in agreement.

He knew his boss’s temperament well. Not to mention others, the importance he placed on this little sister-in-law outweighed everything else. If anything went wrong, he would be in serious trouble.

Thinking this, Wu Sijie said to Zhao Fusheng: “Should you call President Liang?”

“No need.”

Zhao Fusheng shook his head, not intending to call Liang Jingyu, and said to Wu Sijie: “Just find Park Sun-young.”

He knew that this Miss Park Sun-young was no pushover; at Hanxing Investment, she held considerable sway.

Only he could command her; anyone else might not be able to move her.

“Alright.”

Since Zhao Fusheng had said so, Wu Sijie naturally wouldn’t contradict him.

Soon, Wu Sijie left the room to contact Park Sun-young, who quickly arrived at the Shilla Hotel.

“Chairman.”

Park Sun-young came before Zhao Fusheng and bowed respectfully in greeting.

“Mm, you know what to do, right?” Zhao Fusheng asked her with a smile.

Park Sun-young nodded: “Don’t worry, I’ll take the young lady to SM Entertainment right away.”

Unlike Wu Sijie, she didn’t know Fan Beibei’s identity, but she knew that anyone treated with such caution by the respected and feared Representative Liang Jingyu must have a background that was far from simple.

“Go ahead.”

Zhao Fusheng smiled, waved them off, and watched Wu Sijie and the others leave.

Fan Beibei was in high spirits because she was going to SM Entertainment to see Song Qian, and she skipped away happily.

Zhao Fusheng sat on the sofa, took a shower, and slept soundly.

The matters that needed resolving had already been settled; what remained was simply meeting with various people.

By the time Zhao Fusheng woke up, Park Sun-young had already returned from SM Entertainment.

“How did it go?”

After waking up, Zhao Fusheng saw Park Sun-young standing at the door, called her in, and asked: “No problems at SM Entertainment?”

“Don’t worry.”

Park Sun-young smiled and nodded: “I’ve arranged everything.”

“Good.”

Zhao Fusheng thought for a moment: “Call Liang Jingyu and ask him to come over if he has time.”

“Alright.” Park Sun-young nodded and went out to make the call.

From start to finish, Zhao Fusheng didn’t ask how she had arranged things at SM Entertainment.

The reason was simple: if she couldn’t handle even this, then Park Sun-young wouldn’t be qualified to be Liang Jingyu’s trusted subordinate.

Zhao Fusheng would have no hesitation in demanding that Liang Jingyu replace her.

In fact, Zhao Fusheng had no idea that SM Entertainment was in a state of chaos at that very moment.

After all, anyone would be speechless if they suddenly found an eleven-year-old girl charging around the company like a curious little kid.

If it were just that, it might be tolerable—SM Entertainment wasn’t without young trainees; many in Korea started training at eight or nine and debuted as artists at fifteen or sixteen.

But the problem was that Fan Beibei wasn’t alone.

Behind her followed Wu Sijie and the four bodyguards Zhao Fusheng had assigned to him.

Per Zhao Fusheng’s instructions, anyone who threatened Fan Beibei’s safety could be killed, and even if someone was killed, it wouldn’t matter—Zhao Fusheng would handle everything.

As for Wu Sijie, according to what Park Sun-young told him, even if the young lady burned down SM Entertainment, it wouldn’t matter, because the company’s new headquarters was built on land purchased from Hanxing Investment, and they still owed a huge sum of money.

But none of this was the reason why everyone at SM Entertainment was stunned by Fan Beibei’s group. The real reason was that Kim Young-min had been accompanying Wu Sijie and the others the whole time.

“Mr. Kim Young-min, you really don’t need to be so polite.”

Though he didn’t speak Korean, Wu Sijie, upon learning that Kim Young-min knew English, still said politely to Kim Young-min, who had been guiding them through SM Entertainment.

“You’re too kind, Assistant Wu.”

Kim Young-min smiled and said to Wu Sijie: “I’ve long heard of Chairman Zhao of Future Group but never had the chance to meet him. Since a family member of Chairman Zhao wants to tour our company, of course I should accompany you the whole way.”

Wu Sijie smiled, not bothering to expose Kim Young-min’s little scheme. This man was definitely no pushover; otherwise, he couldn’t have risen to the board of SM Entertainment without any shares and become the representative director, keeping the old fox Lee Soo-man in check.

Though it was partly due to Lee Soo-man’s troubles at the time, there was no denying that Kim Young-min now held considerable power at SM Entertainment.

“Sister Song Qian, where do you usually practice?”

While they chatted, Fan Beibei, oblivious to all this, happily pulled Song Qian forward.

Song Qian didn’t know whether to laugh or cry and glanced at Kim Young-min.

Kim Young-min laughed: “It’s fine, Song Qian, take this young lady to play.”

Song Qian bowed in acknowledgment and led Fan Beibei away. Wu Sijie signaled the bodyguards, and they quickly followed.

Wu Sijie could stay and socialize with Kim Young-min, but they dared not let Fan Beibei out of their sight.

If anything happened to Fan Beibei, they wouldn’t be able to answer to Zhao Fusheng.

Watching the little girl drag Song Qian away, followed by the bodyguards, Wu Sijie finally turned to Kim Young-min: “Representative Kim, don’t you think that even if you have something to say, you shouldn’t say it to an outsider like me?”

“Heh, Assistant Wu, are you an outsider?” Kim Young-min looked calmly at Wu Sijie: “If I remember correctly, your company holds shares in SM Entertainment, and you, Assistant Wu, are the person closest to Chairman Zhao, aren’t you?”

He wasn’t stupid. Since he had come personally to meet Wu Sijie today, he had done his homework. Of course, he knew that the young man smiling and exchanging pleasantries with him, playing verbal ping-pong, was Chairman Zhao’s personal assistant, who had even attended meetings as Zhao Fusheng’s representative during negotiations between Future Group and Samsung.

How could such a person be a fool?
