Chapter 0365 Poaching

Rebirth of a Perfect Future · 第0365章 挖墙脚

In March, the weather in Ninghai was naturally not warm. There were few people playing on the basketball court opposite the dormitory, let alone any beauties passing by.

So most of the time, everyone stayed cooped up in the dorm.

Some, like Zhao Fusheng, spent the whole day reading; others, like Wen Yu, spent their free time in the library with their girlfriends; and of course, there were those like Wang Zhen, who went online every day.

Tan Kaixuan had been busy lately. Under Zhao Fusheng's guidance, he had a meal with Zhao's father and discussed renting a storefront. Zhao's father waved his hand generously and, for his son's sake, leased the store to Tan Kaixuan for five years at ten thousand yuan a month, with only half a year's rent paid upfront.

"It's fine. You and Fusheng are classmates, not strangers. Uncle trusts you," Zhao's father said confidently.

Zhao Fusheng's eyelids twitched as he watched. He thought to himself, if Dad knew how much money he was giving away, he probably wouldn't say that.

According to his estimate, the rent should have been at least twenty thousand a month, but since his father had said so, as a son, he couldn't undermine him.

Still, Zhao Fusheng was looking forward to seeing what expression his father would have when he learned the truth.

Tan Kaixuan was undoubtedly the happiest. As they left the mall, he put his arm around Zhao Fusheng's shoulder and said with a grin, "Old Zhao, your dad is really a good guy."

Zhao Fusheng let out a cold laugh. "You definitely don't mean that."

"No, I absolutely mean it." Tan Kaixuan blinked. "Doesn't this count as poaching from your own family?"

Hearing this, Zhao Fusheng really wanted to strangle the guy beside him. He was just bringing up the sore point. But thinking about it, he felt helpless. He couldn't tell his father that this was his own business.

If he did that, his dad would probably be shocked.

"Less nonsense. Sign the contract as soon as possible, and then push your dad," Zhao Fusheng said helplessly to Tan Kaixuan.

Tan Kaixuan nodded. "I called yesterday. My dad said it should be within these two days. We'll definitely get the agency rights. Right now, we're negotiating for the provincial rights."

He paused, hesitating. "If we don't have enough money, will you really not do it?"

Zhao Fusheng glanced at him and didn't beat around the bush. "Yes. I'm cooperating with you, not with your dad."

Tan Kaixuan was stunned for a moment, then understood what Zhao Fusheng meant. He patted Zhao Fusheng on the shoulder. "I get it."

He wasn't stupid. Zhao Fusheng wasn't short of money. The reason he brought him along, just like he had with Wang Zhen, was because they were friends. If he involved his family further, it wouldn't be appropriate.

Seeing that Tan Kaixuan understood, Zhao Fusheng didn't say more. He wasn't opposed to Tan's father getting involved, but if he did, the shares would be hard to divide.

He couldn't let the other party put in more money and not let them hold the majority of shares.

If Zhao Fusheng had to come up with ideas to make money for others, he wasn't that generous.

Maybe for Tan Kaixuan, but not for his parents.

Back at the dorm, Tan Kaixuan didn't go upstairs but went to call his father. Zhao Fusheng went up alone. As soon as he entered, he saw Wang Zhen sitting there excitedly, typing away on the computer.

Frowning, Zhao Fusheng asked curiously, "What are you doing?"

"Huh?"

Looking up and seeing it was Zhao Fusheng, Wang Zhen's face flashed with embarrassment. He shook his head. "Nothing, nothing."

With that, he quickly shut down the computer, not giving Zhao Fusheng a chance to see what he was doing.

Sighing inwardly, Zhao Fusheng didn't say anything. He pretended not to notice.

Actually, Wen Yu had occasionally mentioned in the dorm that Wang Zhen had recently taken to chatting online, even asking Wen Yu how to add nearby girls or girls from the same school.

Zhao Fusheng didn't know why he was doing this—whether it was because of a fight with Dong Chenxi or because he was in a bad mood and just wanted someone to talk to. But regardless, it was his own business, and Zhao Fusheng could only watch from the sidelines.

Taking out his phone, Zhao Fusheng thought for a moment and sent a message to Yu Feihong.

"Sister Fei, you've really done me in."

"?"

After a while, the phone vibrated, but there was only a question mark. Clearly, Yu Feihong was taken aback by Zhao Fusheng's words.

After all, they hadn't contacted each other for a long time. Sending such a message out of the blue would seem strange to anyone.

A smile curled at the corner of Zhao Fusheng's mouth. He blinked and typed on the keyboard: "The roast duck you sent was terrible. I got an upset stomach from it."

In Beijing, Yu Feihong was dumbfounded when she saw Zhao Fusheng's message. A friend beside her asked in surprise, "What's wrong, Feihong?"

Yu Feihong looked up at her friend and said quietly, "Um, if roast duck is mailed, does it not taste very good?"

The other person looked puzzled, hesitated, and said, "Uh, I guess it's not very good. The vacuum-packed ones are greasy..."

Neither of them was a professional chef, so no one really knew.

Embarrassed, Yu Feihong nodded and quickly sent a message to Zhao Fusheng: "Sorry, Fusheng. I didn't know."

Though he couldn't hear her voice, Zhao Fusheng could imagine that Sister Fei was now very embarrassed, probably at a loss for what to do.

Smiling, Zhao Fusheng replied: "It's okay. I'm fine. What are you doing?"

"At a dinner party. I'm looking for funding," Yu Feihong quickly replied.

Looking for funding?

Zhao Fusheng was startled, then realized she was probably hoping to get some investment to help produce the documentary.

Sighing inwardly, Zhao Fusheng knew that Yu Feihong was bound to fail, but he couldn't tell her now. He couldn't dampen her enthusiasm.

"Keep it up!" He replied simply with two words and put down the phone.

"Who was that?"

At that moment, Wang Zhen asked curiously. He had noticed Zhao Fusheng typing on his phone.

Zhao Fusheng shook his head. "No one. Just a friend."

"Old Zhao, do you think Chenxi and I are a good match?" Wang Zhen suddenly asked Zhao Fusheng, leaving him stunned.

"What's wrong?" Zhao Fusheng frowned, sat up, and looked at Wang Zhen.

He didn't think Wang Zhen would ask such a question for no reason. There must be a reason.

Wang Zhen gave a bitter smile, then shook his head. "Nothing. I was just asking. Forget it, I'm going out for a walk."

With that, he stood up and walked straight out the door.

Watching his back, Zhao Fusheng's brows knitted tightly. He felt that things were heading in a direction he didn't want to see.
