Chapter 0455: Reasoning
Rebirth of a Perfect Future · 第0455章 讲道理
Zhao Fusheng was very happy with Yu Feihong's trust.
Love fades over time, but trust—that sense of mutual recognition—deepens with time and the many things done for each other.
“Fusheng, how long are you planning to stay this time?” Yu Feihong asked as she drove.
When Zhao Fusheng had called her earlier, he only said he had something to take care of in Beijing during the summer break, without specifying what it was. Yu Feihong had been a bit surprised at the time.
Hearing her question, Zhao Fusheng smiled and explained, “A friend has some business here, and I’m coming to help out.”
Yu Feihong seemed thoughtful, as if about to say something, but she held back.
Instead, Zhao Fusheng asked, “Sis, how’s the foundation doing lately?”
The foundation had always been run by Yu Feihong, and Zhao Fusheng rarely inquired about it.
Yu Feihong laughed. “Everything’s going smoothly. The first batch of慰问金 has been distributed. I personally led the team to visit them.”
Zhao Fusheng was taken aback. Over a hundred elderly people lived far apart, and Yu Feihong had personally visited most of them—it must have been exhausting.
“Fusheng.” Yu Feihong suddenly glanced at him and said softly, “Thank you.”
Zhao Fusheng was startled, then understood her meaning. He gently shook his head but said nothing.
In his view, this was something he ought to do, and he didn't need anyone's gratitude.
Yu Feihong, seeing that Zhao Fusheng remained silent, smiled and began telling him about her recent experiences—how the elderly women reacted when she delivered their pensions, and also about their daily lives.
"It's quite interesting, actually. These grandmothers, even the youngest among them, are all very optimistic. They all say they will live to see the Japanese realize their mistakes and apologize," Yu Feihong suddenly said to Zhao Fusheng.
Zhao Fusheng furrowed his brow, glanced at Yu Feihong, and said flatly, "Oh."
"Hmm?" Yu Feihong was puzzled. "What's wrong?"
She didn't understand why Zhao Fusheng reacted that way. Shouldn't he be happy for the elderly women?
"Don't you find it somewhat pathetic?" Zhao Fusheng's face was expressionless as he said calmly, "Waiting for an apology—decades have passed, and have they apologized? The country does nothing, the Japanese are shameless. Placing hope in waiting—what do you think the outcome will be?"
Yu Feihong was stunned, unable to speak for a long time.
Zhao Fusheng just smiled.
He actually liked Yu Feihong's smile very much—it was pure, as if just a smile could sweep away the gloom in one's heart.
After a long while, Yu Feihong suddenly spoke: "But no matter what, even if we can't change everything, at least we can make them live a little happier, right?"
Zhao Fusheng smiled and nodded: "That's true. What we can do now is try our best to keep them healthy."
He actually had something else he didn't say: currently, relations between China and Japan were passable. Moreover, unlike South Korea, although the Korean bastards had many flaws to criticize, they never showed any weakness toward Japan for economic gain—they were truly tough.
In contrast, back home, people often talked about so-called Sino-Japanese friendship, about being friendly neighbors separated by a strip of water. Hah, while they treat you as an enemy, you keep shouting that we should look forward and forget past unpleasantness.
Sometimes, I truly grieve for the tens of millions of ancestors who died from September 18th to 1945—how could they have produced such a generation of unworthy descendants?
Yu Feihong naturally did not understand the deeper meaning in Zhao Fusheng's words; after all, sometimes an era limits a person's vision, and there's nothing to be done about it.
The car soon arrived at the place where Yu Feihong lived. Parking the car, Yu Feihong smiled and said, "Let's make do here for today. Don't mind the humble place."
Zhao Fusheng shrugged, said nothing, and silently got out of the car.
For him, arguing with a woman and trying to reason with her was usually a doomed endeavor. A smart, mature man would never make that mistake.
"Take a rest first. We'll go out for dinner tonight, and I'll introduce you to some friends."
Once inside, Yu Feihong said to Zhao Fusheng.
Zhao Fusheng frowned. He wanted to refuse, but seeing Yu Feihong's enthusiastic expression, he found it hard to say anything and nodded in agreement.
In fact, he had never thought of using Yu Feihong to get to know anyone. Whether it was the so-called Beijing circle or anyone else, in Zhao Fusheng's view, a bunch of people playing around in the film and television circle were ultimately not people who accomplished great things.
For example, no matter how awesome the big shots of the Beijing circle were, when Boss Xiao Wang went around picking fights with everyone, did they dare to do anything to him?
The power of capital was there; power and money meant strength—that was an undeniable reality.
……
……
Time always passes quickly, or rather, when we are bored, we find time too long, but when we are busy, we realize that before we know it, the day is over.
Zhao Fusheng felt he had only just rested for a short while when Yu Feihong called him up.
She had already booked the restaurant.
"Sis, your speed of action is too fast," Zhao Fusheng said to Yu Feihong with a helpless expression.
Yu Feihong chuckled lightly: "You've been asleep for over six hours. Haven't you seen what time it is outside? Still sleeping."
Zhao Fusheng blinked, pretending not to catch her insinuation that he was a pig, and said innocently, "I'm a guest. What kind of hospitality is this?"
"Heh..."
Yu Feihong gave Zhao Fusheng a look for him to figure out himself, and simply ignored him.
Zhao Fusheng sighed helplessly. After getting to know her, he realized that all the news in the papers was nonsense. This woman Yu Feihong certainly had an intellectual side, but sometimes her sharp tongue could make people gnash their teeth.
And what was most frustrating was that when Yu Feihong annoyed people, she often didn't speak, but just used an expression or an action to fully convey what she wanted to express.
Actors really were none of them easy to deal with.
Zhao Fusheng silently complained in his heart, got up to go to the bathroom to wash up, and after finishing, grabbed his wallet and phone and got into Yu Feihong's car.
"What's the matter? Not happy?" Yu Feihong raised an eyebrow and glanced at Zhao Fusheng.
"Absolutely not." Zhao Fusheng, being as clever as he was, immediately shook his head and said, "I absolutely obey Sis's leadership."
Are you kidding? Arguing with a woman—only a fool would do that.
