Chapter 0463: Settling Down
Rebirth of a Perfect Future · 第0463章 安顿
In fact, everyone has a different definition of friends. If we define friends merely as people we are familiar with and often eat and hang out with, then I believe everyone has a lot of friends.
But if we raise the standard to those who can share hardships, then we have to admit that each of us is actually lonely.
Because such friends are truly rare.
For Jiang Wen, his time with Zhao Fusheng wasn't long, but unconsciously, he had already regarded Zhao Fusheng as his friend.
Moreover, today's incident itself made Jiang Wen feel disgusted.
Seeing several people standing behind Jiang Wen, Zhang Li's expression immediately turned ugly.
Circles have their own rules. Today, although it was Jiang Wen's friend who ruined his good deed, the more important issue was that he couldn't let Jiang Wen reveal the truth in public.
Some things, when spoken aloud versus known tacitly, are ultimately two different concepts.
"Hmph! Just you wait!"
Zhang Li shot Jiang Wen a fierce glare, then turned and walked out, followed by a group of people.
Watching their backs, Jiang Wen spat fiercely: "Pah! What a scumbag!"
Then he turned and looked at the young people: "You guys, are you all from the Central Academy of Drama?"
"Yes, Teacher Jiang, I'm Tao Hong, this is..."
They introduced themselves. Jiang Wen didn't waste words; after taking down their phone numbers, he left the bar with Yu Feihong.
By the time they stepped outside, Zhang Li and his group were already far away.
"What's up with that kid Fusheng?" Jiang Wen asked curiously. Zhao Fusheng's inexplicable outburst had him puzzled.
Yu Feihong frowned slightly: "I don't know, but where is he?"
Zhao Fusheng had taken the girl and walked out, yet now that Zhang Li and his group had left, he and the girl were nowhere to be seen. Hopefully nothing had happened.
"Don't worry, that kid's as sly as a fox. What could happen?" Jiang Wen said nonchalantly, but his hands moved quickly as he pulled out his phone and dialed Zhao Fusheng's number.
"Where are you?" Jiang Wen asked when the call connected.
"Restroom," Zhao Fusheng replied, seeming busy with something.
Puzzled, Jiang Wen dragged Yu Feihong toward the restroom.
The bar's restroom wasn't far from the exit. When they reached the door, they saw Zhao Fusheng pouring a basin of water over the girl surnamed Song's face at the sink.
Yes, he was pouring it.
Next to him was another water bottle, also filled with water.
Judging by the look of it, it was definitely not warm water, but icy cold.
"What are you doing?" Jiang Wen stared blankly. From a hero saving a damsel to a brute crushing flowers—Zhao Fusheng's script was quite something.
Zhao Fusheng couldn't be bothered to explain; he pointed at the girl: "She was drugged, about to lose consciousness. I'm sobering her up."
Looking at his serious expression, Jiang Wen really wanted to grab him by the collar and ask: "Is this how your family sobers people up?"
Yu Feihong's lips curled into a beautiful smile as she glared at Zhao Fusheng: "Nonsense! How can you treat a girl like this?"
To outsiders, Zhao Fusheng did seem a bit rough—just leaving the girl there and pouring basin after basin of water on her face, making her shiver.
Zhao Fusheng stopped, clapped his hands: "This is a lesson for her!"
To be honest, he had zero interest in this girl. Such a naive little thing with no brains. In Zhao Fusheng's view, if she hadn't held onto a shred of principle, he would have watched her leave with Zhang Li without interfering.
But since she had some integrity, he didn't mind lending a hand where needed.
However, he wasn't a savior. He had rescued her; the rest was up to her.
"Alright, go hail a cab. She'll stay at my place tonight," Yu Feihong said irritably to Zhao Fusheng. "You go with Old Jiang tonight and come back tomorrow."
Since the girl was inconvenient, Zhao Fusheng was simply kicked out by Yu Feihong.
Zhao Fusheng looked helpless but nodded, then said to Jiang Wen: "So, will you put me up?"
Jiang Wen grinned: "Let me tell you, my place is expensive—one script per night."
Rolling his eyes, Zhao Fusheng ignored him and said casually: "No scripts, but I have a few interesting stories. You can listen, and if you think they're suitable, you can find someone to write them. How about that?"
Though he might not be good at writing scripts, when it came to story ideas, Zhao Fusheng had seen plenty of good movies.
After all, during the most prosperous years of the domestic film market, good movies emerged one after another, with a market of hundreds of billions a year and all kinds of films. As someone half in the entertainment industry, Zhao Fusheng had gained quite a bit of insight.
Most importantly, in the materials Zhao Fusheng had seen before, many famous films had not yet appeared.
Of course, Zhao Fusheng wasn't a professional screenwriter. Even if those classic films hadn't appeared, he couldn't write the scripts. But that didn't stop him from recounting the plots of those movies.
If he couldn't write them, someone else could.
Sure enough, hearing Zhao Fusheng's words, Jiang Wen's face lit up with excitement.
Having interacted for so long, he had come to understand Zhao Fusheng's situation. The guy was exactly as he said—he could write ad copy but not scripts.
In fact, Jiang Wen thought that Zhao Fusheng's scripts were so bad they were appalling.
Well, he was a professional, and judging Zhao Fusheng's scripts from a professional perspective, they were indeed quite poor.
But he had to admit, the ideas were pretty good.
"Alright, you're staying at my place tonight," Jiang Wen said cheerfully to Zhao Fusheng.
He had already made up his mind to extract several interesting stories from Zhao Fusheng tonight.
Zhao Fusheng, of course, didn't know that Jiang Wen had already regarded him as a story ATM. He just thought that keeping these stories in his head was useless, so he might as well give them to Jiang Wen and let him owe him a favor.
Friendship is something that only grows through exchange. If one party always gives, even the best friends will eventually part ways.
Both Jiang Wen and Zhao Fusheng understood this truth well.
