Chapter 0635: The Good Man Zhao Fusheng
Rebirth of a Perfect Future · 第0635章 好人赵浮生
On the way back, Fan Baobao shared her doubts with Zhao Fusheng.
"I feel like Sister Hua was different today," Fan Baobao muttered to Zhao Fusheng from the car.
Zhao Fusheng chuckled: "Not really? I thought she seemed normal, with a good attitude and polite speech."
"Not at all. You don't know, but since Sister Hua joined Huayi, her temper has gotten worse. Last time, because I was late for filming, she yelled at me for a long time." Fan Baobao blinked and lowered her voice.
Zhao Fusheng was thoughtful. This was the first time he had heard of it. It seemed Wang Jinghua was increasingly becoming a strong woman.
But regardless, as an agent, it was her duty to discipline a tardy artist. Even if Fan Baobao was scolded, Zhao Fusheng couldn't say anything about it.
So he just smiled: "Maybe it's because you've been performing well lately."
"Could be." Fan Baobao smiled smugly. Clearly, she wasn't overthinking it.
Zhao Fusheng touched his nose. He could roughly guess Wang Jinghua's thoughts. Most likely, she was giving him face today, since his identity as an advertising designer was still quite useful.
He even suspected that Wang Jinghua would call him before long.
Sure enough, not long after they got home, just as Fan Baobao went back to the dorm to grab something, Wang Jinghua's call came.
"Teacher Zhao, you've given me a pleasant surprise," Wang Jinghua said with a laugh, getting straight to the point.
Zhao Fusheng frowned slightly, then replied calmly: "Sister Hua, you're being too formal. I haven't done anything."
"Heh, I asked Little President Wang. That film of yours has such a strong cast. Why didn't you tell me in advance so I could be prepared?" Wang Jinghua laughed. "You've put so much thought into this. I'm really happy for Baobao."
Clearly, as the actual head of Huayi Brothers' talent agency, she naturally wanted to place her artists in Huayi-invested films.
"I haven't said anything yet, and you already know what I'm going to do?" Zhao Fusheng laughed. His voice sounded a bit distant, as if he were standing in the wind or on the street, with some noise in the receiver.
Wang Jinghua sighed: "Fusheng, let's not beat around the bush. Sister Hua hopes you'll give me some face this time."
Zhao Fusheng smiled. Everything in the world was like the old saying: a blessing in disguise. There were good sides and bad sides. Wang Jinghua was more of a businesswoman now, and some things could be discussed more clearly between them.
"Sister Hua, I can give you face, but I hope you understand whose face I'm giving it for," Zhao Fusheng said calmly.
He wasn't worried at all that these words would displease Wang Jinghua. Although she was now a vice president at Huayi Brothers, she meant nothing in front of him.
The reason was simple: he didn't need to ask her for anything.
Sometimes things in this world were ridiculous. The more a person wanted, the more people they had to beg. Conversely, those who desired nothing lived freely.
In short, if a person wasn't greedy, they would live happily.
Wang Jinghua was clearly not the type to be without greed. She wanted too much, so naturally she couldn't hold her head high in front of Zhao Fusheng.
Some things only needed to be hinted at. Zhao Fusheng didn't have to spell it out. He believed Wang Jinghua knew what to do.
If she didn't, Zhao Fusheng wouldn't mind helping her remember.
Days passed slowly. Occasionally, Fan Baobao mentioned to Zhao Fusheng that Sister Hua seemed to be less strict with her lately, and work had become much easier. Zhao Fusheng remained expressionless but nodded inwardly, noting Wang Jinghua's favor. He occasionally mentioned to Jiang Wen that the film "Good Dream One Day Trip" could appropriately use more actors from Huayi.
Favors and face were always about reciprocity. If you expected others to always give you face, you first had to give them face, making them feel you were worth the effort. Otherwise, it was impossible.
Jiang Wen found it strange: "When did you become so close with Huayi?"
Zhao Fusheng, holding the script, blinked innocently: "Isn't it because you're close with Huayi? I'm just giving you face."
Jiang Wen looked at him suspiciously. Instinct told him the kid wasn't telling the truth.
But in Jiang Wen's view, it wasn't a big deal. He knew many people at Huayi, and he himself was signed with them, so Zhao Fusheng's approach suited his thoughts.
Sometimes people were like that. Many things weren't deliberate; most of the time, they just went with the flow.
It had to be said that the saying "it helps to have friends in high places" held true. At least, in Zhao Fusheng's view, without Huayi and Ye Jing's backing, he and Jiang Wen alone couldn't have assembled the crew in just one month.
"Who's the director?" Zhao Fusheng casually asked Jiang Wen.
Strangely enough, the crew was about to be officially formed, yet he didn't even know who the director was.
It couldn't be helped. Lately, Zhao Fusheng had been holed up at home writing the script, with no contact with the outside world. Even the negotiations between Future Advertising and the crew were handled by Dong Chenxi, who contacted Jiang Wen directly.
"You don't know him. He's from the Beijing Film Academy," Jiang Wen waved his hand, speaking casually to Zhao Fusheng.
Huh?
Zhao Fusheng looked bewildered. A film produced by Jiang Wen actually had a director from the Beijing Film Academy. Wasn't he afraid the old-timers from the Central Academy of Drama would come after him?
"Don't mention it. Ye Jing found him. Apparently, his family has some connections," Jiang Wen said helplessly.
Some things weren't up to him. Assembling a crew in such a short time to hit the Spring Festival slot was no easy task, whether in terms of filming schedule or coordinating actors' availability. Naturally, they had to rely on various connections for help. So, some favors were unavoidable.
This was true not only domestically but all over the world.
"What's his name?" Zhao Fusheng asked curiously. Being able to squeeze into this crew meant his family had considerable pull.
"Lu Chuan," Jiang Wen replied offhandedly.
The moment he heard those two words, Zhao Fusheng froze, then a faint smile curled at the corner of his mouth, and he couldn't help but laugh.
He hadn't expected it to be this guy.
