Chapter 0674: The Price of Mockery

Rebirth of a Perfect Future · 第0674章 嘲讽的代价

Not every ant struggling at the bottom is destined for mediocrity. With luck, give them a fulcrum, and they might just move a lever as big as an elephant, like Archimedes.

Zhao Fusheng knew well that for him, now was the opportunity, and rebirth was his fulcrum.

After seeing off Fan Baobao, he tidied up and took a car straight to Future Advertising.

He had promised Dong Chenxi earlier that he would drop by the company today.

Originally, Zhao Fusheng wouldn't have been so diligent, but this trip home and his father's experience made him realize that power could indeed cover the sky with one hand. To stir up clouds and rain, one needed enough cards in hand.

Make money, lots of money, so much that those holding power would think twice before moving against him. That way, even in a narrow encounter in life, he wouldn't have to worry about being knocked out in one punch.

That was Zhao Fusheng's purest thought now.

The company's receptionist was no longer a stranger to Zhao Fusheng. The pretty young girl flashed a sweet smile, lifting his spirits.

He nodded to her in greeting and went straight upstairs.

Arriving at Dong Chenxi's office on the upper floor, he entered to see Dong Chenxi and Bai Jie huddled together, looking at something.

"What's up? So quiet," Zhao Fusheng asked with a smile.

He couldn't help it; they were all old acquaintances from the startup days, and he couldn't put on airs with them.

"You're here," Dong Chenxi looked up, saw it was Zhao Fusheng, and casually pointed to the chair opposite her: "Have a seat. We'll talk later."

Clearly, she was busy and had no time for him now.

Zhao Fusheng didn't mind. He walked over to the tea table, sat down, poured himself a cup of tea, took a sip, and wore a contented expression.

After a while, Bai Jie and Dong Chenxi finished their work and came over together.

"Didn't expect you to be so obedient," Bai Jie teased, winking at him.

She had known Zhao Fusheng for quite some time and had seen Zheng Yao fuming at him. Back then, Zheng Yao would get angry just mentioning his name, because the guy was too lazy—he never came to the office, always driving her up the wall.

"Sister Bai, I don't like hearing that. Am I really that lazy?" Zhao Fusheng shot her a dissatisfied look.

But the next moment, Dong Chenxi and Bai Jie said in unison: "Yes."

Pfft!

Zhao Fusheng spat out his tea, looked up helplessly at the two women: "Hey, if you keep this up, don't expect me to do any planning for you."

These two were going too far, daring to doubt him.

Dong Chenxi and Bai Jie looked helpless, completely at a loss with this guy. His laziness had long left them speechless.

"Alright, stop focusing on the details. Tell me, what's the matter?" Zhao Fusheng asked curiously.

These days, he rarely handled planning himself. On one hand, the company's reputation was established, and they had enough big contracts. On the other hand, the industry knew his fees were high, so only top-tier brands hired him.

"We've taken on two public service ad designs and wanted your help," Bai Jie said after a pause.

Zhao Fusheng frowned: "Public service ads?"

He had designed a few before, but back then the company wasn't well-known, and it was just to break into the market. As the company grew, he stopped doing them.

Now Bai Jie wanted him to plan public service ads again.

"Think of it as a way for the company to expand its market," Dong Chenxi explained quickly, seeing his expression.

Zhao Fusheng smiled: "All commercial behavior not aimed at making money is hooliganism. You know what that means, right?"

Dong Chenxi nodded and shrugged: "So I say, the ultimate goal of doing this is market expansion. Imagine if all of CCTV's public service ads were designed by us, with our company logo at the end—wouldn't that be an invisible ad?"

"Huh?"

Zhao Fusheng raised an eyebrow, looking at Dong Chenxi in surprise.

To be honest, he hadn't thought of that. Even as an advertiser in two lifetimes, he hadn't considered it. He had always seen public service ads as volunteer work, but following Dong Chenxi's logic, if Future Advertising could secure all of CCTV's public service ads, combined with what she said, he thought it might actually work.

"What do you think? Surprised?" Dong Chenxi grinned triumphantly when he didn't respond.

Zhao Fusheng chuckled and nodded: "Yeah, right. Seems that saying is true."

"What saying?"

Bai Jie looked puzzled.

Zhao Fusheng smiled slightly: "A wise man may sometimes err, a fool may sometimes hit the mark."

"You!"

Dong Chenxi was exasperated, reached out and slapped his shoulder, utterly speechless.

Having known him for so long, they were all aware of his sharp tongue. Sometimes his teasing could drive people up the wall.

"Me what? Since you put it so well, I'll agree," Zhao Fusheng said with a smile.

Regardless, he would listen to any suggestion beneficial to the company. He wasn't stupid; turning down money-making opportunities would be crazy.

"Here, the materials," Bai Jie stood up and handed him a stack of documents.

Dong Chenxi interjected: "This needs to be done within a week. The TV station is pushing."

"A week?" Zhao Fusheng paused, then nodded: "Got it. Don't worry."

A week might be tough for others, but for him, it was no challenge at all.

Watching Zhao Fusheng leave, Dong Chenxi shook her head helplessly. He always carried an air of indifference, as if nothing mattered, yet any task given to him, no matter how difficult, was always perfectly resolved.

Though no one ever said it, everyone knew that man was the pillar of confidence for the entire Future Advertising.
