Chapter 0819 Interview

Rebirth of a Perfect Future · 第0819章 面试

“Now that 'Legend' is getting more and more popular, are you really planning to wait until after the open beta to launch the cheat?” Zhang Qian asked Zhao Fusheng with some curiosity.

In his view, since the game was currently booming, it would be better to strike while the iron was hot and directly push the cheat to market, which would surely be loved by many players.

Zhao Fusheng laughed and shook his head: “You don’t understand—only after gamers spend money do they realize how great cheats are.”

Zhang Qian was baffled; clearly, he couldn’t grasp Zhao Fusheng’s logic at all.

After all, for him, online games were a new thing. Back in Shanghai, Chen Danian had taught him how to play games hand by hand, let alone now.

If not for Zhao Fusheng’s request, he might never have touched online games at all.

Zhao Fusheng didn’t explain further. The saying “different trades are separated as by mountains” made sense. For someone like Zhang Qian, discussing the operational strategy of online games with him was like talking to a brick wall; he simply wouldn’t understand the intricacies.

It wasn’t that Zhang Qian wasn’t smart, but this was a completely unfamiliar field to him.

Just as when Zhang Qian told him about infiltrating enemy-occupied areas for intelligence operations, Zhao Fusheng felt it sounded like a fairy tale, but in fact, it was truly Zhang Qian’s personal experience.

Everyone lives different lives, so naturally their views on things differ. For instance, even now, Zhang Qian couldn’t see how much development potential an online game could have.

Yet Zhao Fusheng clearly knew that this game called 'Legend' would become a legend in the history of China’s internet development.

“Alright, you get some rest too. Tomorrow morning, come with me to the company.” Zhao Fusheng smiled and said to Zhang Qian.

Zhang Qian nodded: “I’ll pack up my things and move over tomorrow.”

He also knew why Zhao Fusheng had specifically bought the apartment across the street.

Zhao Fusheng smiled, said nothing more, and watched Zhang Qian go upstairs.

The next morning, as soon as Zhao Fusheng woke up, he heard voices from the living room. After getting dressed and walking out, he saw Fan Baobao talking with Yang Panpan about something.

Zhang Qian, meanwhile, looked helplessly at them.

“What are you chatting about?”

Zhao Fusheng asked Fan Baobao with a smile.

“Nothing much. I was telling Sister Panpan to come visit our dorm.” Fan Baobao giggled and waved the phone in her hand: “Sister Hua just called and said today’s shoot is canceled.”

“Canceled?” Zhao Fusheng frowned.

“Yeah, a pictorial shoot. They said we’ll do it tomorrow.” Fan Baobao laughed carefreely, then looked at Yang Panpan: “Sister Panpan, want to come to our dorm later?”

Yang Panpan naturally had no objection. Zhang Qian had already told her that her task was simply to protect Fan Baobao and keep her safe; whatever Fan Baobao wanted to do, she could go along with it.

For a fan, this was undoubtedly the most satisfying job imaginable. So although Yang Panpan wasn’t particularly fond of Zhao Fusheng, she was still quite content with his arrangement.

Zhao Fusheng didn’t ask further. With Wang Zhonglei looking after things at Huayi, and Wang Jinghua not being a fool, they wouldn’t push his patience too far.

Letting Fan Baobao and Yang Panpan go visit the girls’ dormitory at the Central Academy of Drama, Zhao Fusheng had Zhang Qian drive him to Future Advertising.

“Go check on Dong Guoxiang. Wait for my call and come pick me up,” Zhao Fusheng said to Zhang Qian.

Zhang Qian nodded and drove off.

Zhao Fusheng walked into the company.

As soon as he entered, Zhao Fusheng frowned because he noticed that there were quite a few people in the company today, many of them unfamiliar faces, clearly newcomers.

“What’s going on?” He walked to the front desk and asked the receptionist.

“Director Zhao, you’re here.” The receptionist naturally recognized Zhao Fusheng and quickly replied: “There’s a recruitment today. I heard President Zheng said earlier that the company headquarters would be moved here.”

Zhao Fusheng nodded, glanced at the group of young people heading toward the conference room, and silently sighed to himself.

The advertising industry was a new field. Many people didn’t really understand it; they thought it was highly profitable, with gold-medal planners turning stone into gold. But the problem was that countless people aspired to become gold-medal planners, yet only a handful truly succeeded, because this was a road destined to be thorny, a road with an uncertain future, a road where even throwing oneself into the flames might not guarantee success.

Looking up, Zhao Fusheng saw through the window the cloudless blue sky outside. Sunlight streamed through the glass panes, and the towering concrete jungle of the city stood like fortresses waiting to be conquered.

He stepped into the elevator, intending to check out the interviews.

Unexpectedly, the few people who got into the elevator with him were all there for the interview. No one recognized him. Zhao Fusheng rode the elevator up with the newcomers.

The elevator slowly stopped on the sixth floor. As he stepped out, he was somewhat surprised.

The entire corridor on the sixth floor was dead silent, so quiet it felt like being in a soundless world.

“Hmm, looks like I can’t get into the conference room.” Zhao Fusheng glanced at the crowd blocking the doorway, frowned, and casually sat down on a bench.

His gaze fell on someone beside him, and he silently laughed.

The reason was simple: the interviewee next to him, whether from nervousness or something else, was shaking his leg, looking both awkward and funny.

“Hey, buddy, what’s wrong?” Zhao Fusheng gently patted him on the shoulder and asked in a low voice.

Huh?

The man’s muscles instantly tensed. He spun around abruptly and even stood up, like a startled rabbit.

“Uh…” Zhao Fusheng was immediately embarrassed. He had only meant to greet him, but the other’s reaction was so strong that now both of them were at a loss.

“Ahem.” The man coughed twice to cover his awkwardness. “Um, is there something you need?”

“...Sorry.” Zhao Fusheng gave an apologetic smile. “I didn’t mean to startle you. I just wanted to ask what’s wrong.”

“Oh, it’s nothing. I just overreacted a bit.” Seeming to recall his almost-jumping reaction, the man also felt a bit sheepish. He looked up, scratched the back of his head, and appeared somewhat restrained.

A hint of a smile crept onto Zhao Fusheng’s lips. This guy was quite interesting.
