Forms of life!
This has always been an important subject of research in the academic world of the超凡.
It was only in the past hundred years, with the gradual increase in the number of超凡 masters and the gradual accumulation of knowledge,
that the academic world of the超凡 gained a further understanding of life forms.
First, humans are life forms of the 'flesh, blood, and soul' state.
It must be remembered that 'flesh and blood' and 'soul' are necessary conditions for human life.
But they are not necessary conditions for 'life'.
For example, the超凡 calamity life form—mechanical life—has neither flesh, blood, nor soul.
The mechanical heart hidden beneath their cold mechanical skeleton possesses extraordinary intelligence.
They have even built their own unique civilization, and even those audacious evil gods dare not provoke them.
These machines have no faith or belief whatsoever.
All they want to do is dismember those deities, throw them into their own mechanical furnace, enhance their own potential and strength, and accelerate their own growth.
Nothing can make them feel fear.
In a large number of超凡 practitioners' notes, what exists is only fear of mechanical life.
Another example is life forms without a physical body—soul-body life forms.
Their forms exist widely in various超凡 worlds, and the top-ranked life form among soul-body life forms, the 'demon,' is known to countless超凡 worlds.
Another example is elemental life forms without souls.
Such as stone giants, mountain giants, flame puppet beasts, and so on.
Although their numbers are not large, there is no doubt that they have no souls, and no matter how powerful a soul attack is, it cannot destroy even a weak elemental life form of this kind.
Clearly, flesh, blood, and soul are not necessary conditions for life forms.
So what is the 'core of life'?
This question seems to have been resolved long ago in some ancient notes and manuscripts from other超凡强者, but because scholars on the Oya Continent have not reached this level of cognition and research,
it has never been widely accepted as a consensus.
About fifty or sixty years ago,
a complete theory of life finally took shape on the Oya Continent.
That is, the core of life lies in—the life energy framework.
This 'energy' includes flesh and blood, soul, and even elemental bodies.
Broadly speaking, everything can be seen as the 'energy' of life; matter is just another form of energy.
As long as 'energy' can operate and construct a complete and stable life framework,
then that organism can be called life.
This 'life energy framework theory' is a mainstream understanding, but no one knows whether it is correct or not.
But at least it provides humans with a new perspective to understand more life forms in this超凡 world.
After understanding the essence of life forms,
the form of humans—soul, flesh, and blood—appears very weak, even disadvantageous, compared to those powerful life forms.
For example, for humans, the 'flesh and blood body' and 'soul' must simultaneously construct the 'life framework' for life to survive.
When the physical body loses its vitality and the framework collapses, even if the soul is uninjured, the soul will also dissipate, leading to the complete death of the person.
When the physical body is intact but the soul suffers a devastating blow, or is devoured by a demon, death also occurs.
Compared to the fragile flesh and soul of humans,
the soul and body of ranked creatures appear extremely terrifying and dreadful.
For example, a demon whose soul is annihilated by ninety percent, leaving only ten percent of its soul energy, can still survive by accumulating energy with that ten percent of soul energy.
For instance, even if ninety percent of the physical body is annihilated, a 'demon' with only a small claw remaining can still survive on that single claw.
Such a powerful life state is difficult for weak beings like humans to comprehend.
Difficult to comprehend, but that does not mean humans have no aspirations in this regard.
In fact, the advancement of the transcendent sequence is not merely a pursuit of power.
It is equally a pursuit of a higher life form.
Humans also wish to survive even if ninety percent of their soul is annihilated.
Humans also wish to survive even if their physical body is reduced to just a single palm.
Advancing from the sixth rank to the seventh rank is merely a single rank apart, so the gap should not seem large.
Yet in reality, the gap between the sixth and seventh ranks is as vast as the difference between heaven and earth.
An important reason for this is:
When advancing from the sixth to the seventh rank, the life form is strengthened and elevated.
This is what causes the transcendent's power to increase explosively.
As far as Gune knew, only when advancing from the sixth to the seventh rank,
or even from the ninth rank to a higher level, does the life form undergo a transformative elevation.
But Gune had not expected that the demonization rune, once condensed, could actually alter the life form of a transcendent.
This was quite an incredible thing.
"By condensing the demonization rune,"
the old wizard continued to explain slowly.
"The soul, the physical body, and energy will form a unique trinity life form."
"For example, if your soul suffers minor damage, you can consume physical body to repair the soul, or use energy, that is, source power, to repair the soul, and this repair is immediate and highly effective."
"Similarly, if the physical body is injured, you can consume soul and source power to recover."
"If source power is depleted, you can obtain it by converting soul and physical body."
"I said conversion is possible, but in practice, no one would consume soul and physical body to convert into source power."
"Some conversions can be done, but they are unnecessary," Gune said.
"Right!" The old wizard nodded slightly.
"As a spellcaster, you should be well aware that the soul is a very important core for a caster, while energy can be obtained very easily."
"Soul injuries are hard to recover from and require a long period of recuperation; some damaging injuries need soul-type treasures to repair."
"If one possesses the trinity life form, minor soul injuries, or even some permanent damaging trauma, can be easily healed by consuming energy to recuperate the soul wounds."
"Or, in the case of severe injuries like severed limbs, we can also consume energy through the trinity life form to restore the physical body."
"This trinity life form is truly terrifying," Gune sighed softly.
"Advancing from the sixth to the seventh rank also strengthens the physical body, soul, and energy, but does not allow mutual conversion."
"The new trinity life form bestowed by the demonization rune truly creates an unprecedented new form of life."
As Gune marveled, he glanced briefly at the old wizard beside him.
He noticed that the old wizard now wore a faint smile on his face.
Instantly, Gune's heart tightened slightly.
"Perhaps... this seemingly beautiful trinity life form is not as good as it seems!"
"Senior wizard, are there any drawbacks to this trinity life form? Or any limitations?" Gune looked at the old wizard.
"Drawbacks? None. Limitations... hmm... none either."
"The only downside is... the conversion efficiency is a bit low."
"A bit?"
Gune pursed his lips inwardly.
"From your tone, it's probably not 'a bit,' but 'a whole lot'!"
