Chapter 007: Splitting the Money

获得主角能力的我只想过平凡生活 · 第007章 分钱

Star-Lord glanced at the head at his feet, then at Carol, and figured this woman was not to be trifled with, so he quickly averted his gaze, pretending to examine the surrounding collection.

He even started whistling.

Gamora looked thoughtfully at Ronan's head a few times, lost in thought.

Rocket Raccoon, however, kicked Ronan's head aside and said to Carol, "Don't gross me out with that thing; I want to puke."

He was still his usual confrontational self.

Groot boomed, "I am Groot."

But no one bothered to respond to him, except Rocket Raccoon, though in everyone's eyes, he probably wasn't human.

The Collector said to Wang Bo, "Now, we can talk about our business."

Wang Bo didn't refuse. He had no interest in money, but he was very interested in the Collector's collection. The two began to barter, exchanging what they had for what the other lacked.

They spent several hours trading.

Wang Bo handed over everything he had to the Collector: the Demon Passport, Monster Cells, Lightning Dragon Slayer Crystal, Elixir of Immortality, Edible Spacesuit, Orichalcum, Enhanced Suit, Devil Fruit, Gourmet Cells, and so on.

Using what he had collected, Wang Bo also acquired a large number of treasures.

Including various scientific technologies, minerals, and some rare artifacts.

It could be said that both parties were quite satisfied with this transaction.

Wang Bo's collection was already extensive, but compared to the Collector's, it was still far inferior, after all, the Collector had lived for an extremely long time and had amassed too many treasures.

Even if it was just the treasures of one universe, it still dwarfed Wang Bo's collection.

But Wang Bo was not discouraged.

If he were as ancient as the Collector, the items he had collected would definitely surpass the Collector's.

When the two finished their transaction, the Collector also placed billions of credits in front of Star-Lord and his group, buying the Infinity Stone from them.

Although Wang Bo was a bit envious, he had no intention of snatching it.

Star-Lord and Rocket Raccoon's group, however, were discussing how to split the money.

In the original storyline, because they didn't get paid, they fled with the Infinity Stone, eventually banding together to form the Guardians of the Galaxy to fight Ronan the Accuser.

But because of Wang Bo's intervention, Ronan was killed, and the group got their money.

Whether they would still form the Guardians of the Galaxy afterward, Wang Bo wasn't sure.

He walked over to Gamora and said softly, "Can I ask you a few questions, Miss Gamora?"

Gamora became wary. This man had killed Ronan; he was beyond her imagination, far stronger than her, so of course she had to stay alert.

Seeing this, Star-Lord, forgetting about splitting the money with Rocket Raccoon, walked over unhappily. "What do you want to ask? I can answer you."

In his view, Wang Bo was trying to hit on Gamora.

He certainly wouldn't let Wang Bo succeed; Gamora was his catch first.

If Wang Bo knew what Star-Lord was thinking, he would have laughed his head off. Gamora didn't fit his aesthetic at all; only someone like Star-Lord, who grew up in space, would have such taste.

"I want to know Thanos's whereabouts," Wang Bo said, ignoring Star-Lord and addressing Gamora.

This annoyed Star-Lord, but he didn't know Thanos's whereabouts either, so he turned to look at Gamora.

Gamora asked curiously, "What do you want with him?"

"To kill him," Wang Bo said calmly. In this world, Thanos was influenced by the ultimate Thanos of some Marvel universe; if he wasn't killed, the entire universe would be in danger.

Gamora hadn't expected Wang Bo's goal to be killing Thanos; it caught her off guard. But she didn't tell Wang Bo Thanos's whereabouts. Instead, she shook her head and said, "You can't kill him."

Wang Bo smiled and said, "With all due respect, Miss Gamora, you were raised by Thanos since childhood, and your fear of him is ingrained in your bones. So you think Thanos is invincible. But in my view, Thanos is not as powerful as you imagine. Killing him is not a problem for me."

Gamora said bluntly, "From your words, I can tell you underestimate Thanos. You don't understand him at all."

Hearing this, Wang Bo couldn't be bothered to argue further. "Fine, I don't understand Thanos. But right now, I just want to know his whereabouts. Miss Gamora, can you tell me?"

Gamora hesitated for a moment, then said, "I've been away from Thanos for too long, so I don't know his current whereabouts."

Wang Bo gave Gamora a long, hard look, then turned and walked away.

He could tell Gamora wasn't telling the truth.

But it didn't matter. Since she wouldn't tell the truth, he would find someone who would.

And that someone was none other than Nebula.

A few hours earlier, Nebula had been playing dead, and Wang Bo pretended not to notice, returning to the Collector's vault.

After Nebula saw Wang Bo leave, she quickly got up and planned to leave Knowhere.

But the ship they had brought was already destroyed by Wang Bo.

So Nebula still hadn't left Knowhere and was still wandering around.

Wang Bo walked out of the Collector's vault and found Nebula without any effort.

But Wang Bo didn't reveal himself; he hid his presence, because he noticed that Nebula had her eye on a group of mercenaries and was planning to hijack their ship to escape Knowhere.

Nebula took a deep breath and walked toward the mercenaries.

She knew well that mercenaries who made a living in space were no pushovers.

Each had their own special skills.

If she underestimated them, she might get herself killed.

So she had to focus all her attention, suppress her killing intent, and act like an ordinary person, careful not to attract their attention, or her plan would fail.

The mercenaries noticed Nebula, but they didn't pay her any mind. First, because she showed no hostility; second, because they outnumbered her and had weapons.

So in their eyes, the unarmed Nebula was just a passerby.

No need for vigilance at all.

A few seconds later, as they passed each other, Nebula suddenly turned and struck decisively.

Seeing this, Wang Bo not only didn't stop her but secretly gave Nebula a little help.

He cast a small spell that paralyzed the mercenaries' physical strength.

Nebula, with almost no effort, snatched a gun from one mercenary, aimed at the group, and pulled the trigger. In just a few breaths, she had killed them all.
