Chapter 009: Assassin

Purple skin, a massive ridged chin, a burly build, usually clad in blue-and-gold attire with golden shoulder armor and golden short boots... This was Thanos.

The cosmic overlord, Thanos.

Beside Thanos were several underlings, presumably his minions, the Black Order.

But here, Wang Bo only saw three of them.

Proxima Midnight, Ebony Maw, and Cull Obsidian.

The other two were absent.

Wang Bo's sudden appearance not only caught Thanos's attention but also drew the notice of these individuals.

Ebony Maw reacted the fastest; with a light wave of his hand, an invisible shockwave surged rapidly toward Wang Bo.

In this world, Ebony Maw possessed immense telekinetic ability; in the future invasion of Earth, he could even suppress Doctor Strange, the Sorcerer Supreme.

Ebony Maw stepped forward and said, "With us here, you don't even have a chance to approach Lord Thanos."

Wang Bo curled his lip. Despite how loyally this guy spoke, among the Black Order, he was actually the most disloyal.

In the comics, after Ebony Maw found Thane, Thanos's only biological son, he incited Thane to defeat Thanos and, acting as an advisor, manipulated Thane into becoming a regional warlord. But in the end, they were captured by Corvus Glaive.

And Ebony Maw once again displayed his instinct for betrayal; he traded Thane for Corvus Glaive's forgiveness, then vanished into the cosmos, never to be heard from again.

So this guy's words were utterly untrustworthy.

Even in a different world, Ebony Maw's loyalty to Thanos was still questionable.

If he remembered correctly, the Power Stone was with the Collector, the Space Stone had returned to Asgard, the Time Stone was with the Ancient One, the Sorcerer Supreme, and the Mind Stone had originally been with Thanos but was later given to Loki and had likely fallen into Hydra's hands.

As for the Soul Stone, it was still on Vormir; the only person who knew about it was Gamora.

Thanos did not yet know the location of the Soul Stone.

And the last Reality Stone had been given to the Collector by Asgard.
