Chapter 011: Cutting a Path
获得主角能力的我只想过平凡生活 · 第011章 杀出一条路
When Wang Bo discovered the Death Star, the others aboard the Millennium Falcon had not yet noticed it.
They were still arguing about the planet Alderaan.
Just then, the Millennium Falcon detected an Imperial ship flying through an asteroid field.
Han Solo, out of curiosity, gave chase.
Then they found the Death Star.
At first, Han Solo thought it was an asteroid, but as they drew closer, they were shocked to realize it was not an asteroid at all, but a space station.
Han Solo immediately tried to turn back.
But unfortunately, it was too late.
They had been caught in the Death Star's gravity field and could not break free, slowly being pulled toward it.
Han Solo panicked.
With a space station this huge, who knew how many soldiers were inside? A dozen or so would be enough to trap them.
"What do we do now? Think of something fast!" Luke said anxiously to Han Solo. "Isn't your ship fast?"
If they were captured, the outcome would be unthinkable.
Han Solo forced himself to calm down. Staring at the approaching Death Star, he said slowly, "We'll have to take a gamble."
He led Luke, Chewbacca, Obi-Wan, and the two droids into a hidden compartment in the ship, originally used for smuggling cargo, now their hiding place.
Interestingly, the compartment was just big enough to hide them.
One more person would not fit.
And Wang Bo was that extra person.
Obi-Wan jumped out of the compartment and said slowly, "Perhaps it's time to use these old bones. You go in; I'll handle those outside."
Wang Bo shook his head. "No, you go in. I'll handle them."
Obi-Wan disagreed, but Wang Bo pulled out a lightsaber and said calmly, "Let's have a duel. Whoever is stronger stays."
Obi-Wan looked at Wang Bo, ignited his lightsaber, and said slowly, "It seems I'll have to use this to change your mind."
Wang Bo smiled faintly, lunged forward like lightning, and thrust his blade at Obi-Wan's throat.
His speed was incredible.
Before Obi-Wan could react, Wang Bo's lightsaber was nearly at his throat; a single centimeter more and it would pierce through.
"Looks like I win," Wang Bo said with a smile.
Obi-Wan stared at Wang Bo in shock, then suddenly swung hard, deflecting Wang Bo's blade and thrusting at his throat in the same manner.
It was all about speed.
But Wang Bo reacted faster. He stepped back, evading Obi-Wan's strike, and swung his blade like a storm, attacking Obi-Wan furiously.
For a moment, Obi-Wan was flustered.
But the next second, Wang Bo's lightsaber was again at his throat.
"I win again."
Having lost twice to Wang Bo, Obi-Wan finally realized he was no match. Though he had trained in swordsmanship for decades, he was helpless against Wang Bo.
This made Obi-Wan even more reluctant. "You are the most gifted student I have ever seen. You should not die here. Listen to me, hide inside, please?"
"No, I think you've misunderstood something." Wang Bo refused Obi-Wan and said calmly, "I never planned to die here. I have only one goal: fight my way in, capture the leader, and leave."
Obi-Wan shook his head and said bitterly, "I must acknowledge the power of the Jedi, but Jedi are not omnipotent. There are things even a Jedi cannot do."
"Yes, some things Jedi cannot do, but I can."
Obi-Wan had no idea where Wang Bo's confidence came from.
This battle station was enormous, and the troops stationed inside were staggering in number. Not even a Jedi, let alone a single one, could fight their way in and capture the leader—perhaps not even an entire Jedi Order.
But when he saw the look in Wang Bo's eyes, he knew Wang Bo was serious.
"You are too arrogant." Obi-Wan tried to stop him.
Just then, the Millennium Falcon shuddered slightly and then fell silent.
Wang Bo said, "It seems the ship has landed. If you don't hide now, we'll all be in trouble."
Obi-Wan had no choice but to take Luke and hide in the smuggling compartment.
Soon, the ship's hatch opened.
A squad of soldiers in white armor poured into the ship.
They were stormtroopers, the most iconic military force of the Galactic Empire, trained for swift, precise strikes to quell rebellions and maintain order across the Empire's vast territories.
Stormtroopers served both in Palpatine's ground forces and in the Imperial Starfleet in space.
Stormtrooper training emphasized total indoctrination in the principles of the New Order. Individuals were to obey officers unconditionally, disregarding the rights of others and even their own safety. Stormtroopers traded individuality for loyalty.
They were fully encased in white armored suits, armed with pistols or rifles.
Their helmets were equipped with long-range communicators.
Facing this squad, Wang Bo decisively drew his lightsaber and charged the moment they entered the Millennium Falcon.
The standard squad of several soldiers didn't even get a clear look at Wang Bo's face before being blasted away.
Instantly, soldiers near the landing platform raised their weapons.
As Wang Bo fought his way out of the Millennium Falcon, he was met with concentrated fire from the stormtroopers.
Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh!
Countless laser bolts flew toward him, but Wang Bo swung his lightsaber, blocking every attack without a single leak, and then darted left and right like lightning.
In an instant, stormtrooper after stormtrooper was knocked down.
In just over ten seconds, Wang Bo had taken down all the soldiers around the landing platform.
Of course, Wang Bo did not kill them; he merely knocked them unconscious.
Meanwhile, those in the monitoring room saw this through the cameras and immediately reported it to higher command, ordering more troops to converge on the landing platform.
But Wang Bo used his X-ray vision to see through layer after layer of walls, spotting a thin, elderly man sitting in a huge office.
He wore a military uniform, and the insignia on his chest told Wang Bo he was the Death Star's supreme commander.
Because beside him, Wang Bo also saw another man.
The Sith Lord, Darth Vader, father of Luke Skywalker.
Also one of the most powerful villains in Star Wars.
Just as Wang Bo's gaze fell on Darth Vader, the latter seemed to sense something and suddenly looked up, staring in Wang Bo's direction.
