Chapter 014: The Gift

获得主角能力的我只想过平凡生活 · 第014章 恩赐

To be honest, using the Soul Stone to manipulate someone's soul was somewhat despicable.

If it were someone else, Wang Bo might have hesitated.

But for people like Grand Moff Tarkin and Darth Vader, Wang Bo didn't hesitate at all. Wasn't it just manipulating two villains? Nothing too serious.

Under the dual assault of carrot and stick, the two knelt and surrendered.

So Wang Bo unceremoniously sat in the seat originally occupied by Grand Moff Tarkin and ordered him to summon all the high-ranking officials on the Death Star.

Grand Moff Tarkin naturally dared not hesitate and nodded, saying, "Yes, I'll do it right away."

So he issued the summons.

Half an hour later, all the prominent high-ranking officials on the Death Star gathered together.

When they entered Grand Moff Tarkin's office and saw Wang Bo sitting in the chair, they were taken aback.

Of course, they had heard about the Death Star being invaded and were closely following the matter. When Grand Moff Tarkin summoned them just now, they thought the issue had been resolved.

Everyone thought the invader had been dealt with.

After all, Grand Moff Tarkin had Darth Vader by his side.

But no one expected that when they walked in, they would find Grand Moff Tarkin standing to the side, and the seat that should have been his was occupied by a young man.

And they had all seen this man on the screens.

He was the invader.

What surprised them even more was that Darth Vader had taken off his thick armor, revealing a young face.

And their Grand Moff Tarkin had undergone reverse aging in a short time, transforming from an old man into an ambitious young man.

If it weren't for the face that closely resembled Tarkin's, they would never have believed that this young man was their leader, the supreme commander of the Death Star, Grand Moff Tarkin.

It was simply incredible.

For a moment, everyone was utterly astonished and bewildered.

Wang Bo, however, was quite calm, as if he were the host, and waved his hand, saying, "Everyone, please sit down."

They looked at each other, confused and at a loss.

Admiral Motti stepped forward, his gaze fixed on Grand Moff Tarkin, and couldn't help asking, "What the hell is going on? Why have you become like this?"

Grand Moff Tarkin looked at Admiral Motti expressionlessly. "Are you curious about my transformation, Admiral Motti?"

"What kind of black technology is this? Could it be the Empire's latest research?" Admiral Motti said, both dejected and excited.

He was dejected because Grand Moff Tarkin had become young.

He had originally planned to wait a few years, outlive Grand Moff Tarkin, and then take full control of the Death Star.

But now, his hopes were dashed, hence his dejection.

However, if Grand Moff Tarkin's rejuvenation was a new black technology from the Empire, then wouldn't he also be able to enjoy it? Rejuvenation was everyone's dream.

People like him, with wealth and power, craved youth and longevity even more.

Grand Moff Tarkin said calmly, "This is not some black technology; it is a gift from my master."

"Your master?" Admiral Motti was startled, his gaze falling on Wang Bo, who sat in Tarkin's seat, and blurted out, "Your master couldn't possibly be him, could it?"

As he spoke, he raised his finger and pointed at Wang Bo.

Wang Bo glanced at the other man and effortlessly stole his resume from his memory.

This man, called Colonel Motti, was no good; to pad his resume, he had labeled many routine missions as great military victories, in other words, exaggerating his military achievements.

In reality, this guy's military... how should I put it, it wasn't that he had none.

After all, he had graduated from a proper military academy and had some military talent, at least better than the average person, but not as exaggerated as his resume claimed.

This guy's military ability was truly mediocre.

He had no chance of ever earning the title of a famous general in his lifetime.

Even by military merit, he might not have been qualified to serve on the Death Star, after all, the Death Star was the most powerful weapon of the Galactic Empire, with extremely high security clearance.

Someone like him had no right to set foot on the Death Star.

But he had used his connections to secure a respected position on the Death Star project. Moreover, together with Grand Moff Tarkin and General Tagge, he formed a command triumvirate on this battle station.

Not only had he become a high-ranking officer on the Death Star, but he was also a member of the triumvirate.

This showed the corruption of the Galactic Empire.

However, Wang Bo was very interested in another person.

That was General Tagge in Colonel Motti's mind.

So Wang Bo ignored Colonel Motti and couldn't help but look at a somewhat expressionless man.

This guy was General Tagge.

Wang Bo again stole his resume from his memory.

At the same time, he gained a deeper understanding of General Tagge.

General Tagge was not a commoner; in fact, he came from the Tagge family, which had always been an influential noble class within the Empire.

This family operated enterprises such as Tagge Company and a profitable spice mine, amassing immense wealth.

But unlike Colonel Motti, who relied on connections,

General Tagge's rise to the Death Star as the third figure in the triumvirate overseeing the station was due not only to his family background but also to his own abilities.

Compared to the mediocre Colonel Motti, Tagge was actually a talented officer; he had commanded many wars and won them brilliantly.

Ultimately, through his excellent abilities and the maneuvering of his family behind the scenes, he gained the Emperor's approval, boarded the Death Star, became a high-ranking official, and secured a place in the command triumvirate.

Moreover, this seemingly dull man kept his distance from political struggles, loyal only to the Emperor.

These two, along with Grand Moff Tarkin, were the highest-ranking officers on the Death Star.

Together, the three of them held all decision-making power on the Death Star.

This was one reason why Colonel Motti dared to question Grand Moff Tarkin; although he was only a colonel, it was undeniable that he still had a strong voice in the meeting room.

General Tagge also looked at the Grand Moff, hoping he would give a response.

Grand Moff Tarkin said calmly, "Let me introduce you. This is the master I serve, who will surely become the Emperor of the Empire in the future."

General Tagge was taken aback.

Colonel Motti felt as if he had heard some kind of fairy tale and couldn't help but burst into laughter.

After laughing, Colonel Motti knelt on one knee, "Your subordinate greets Your Majesty."

General Tagge was caught off guard.
