Chapter 015: Rounding Up All in One Net

获得主角能力的我只想过平凡生活 · 第015章 一网打尽

He looked at Colonel Motti with utter bewilderment, not understanding why the man, who had been mocking Tarkin just a second ago, would swear allegiance to a stranger the next second.

Your speed of change is just too fast.

But before General Tagge could react, the other officers had already knelt on one knee.

"Your subordinate greets Your Majesty."

General Tagge was stunned, then a chill ran down his spine. He finally realized that something was wrong with the situation before him, and it was all the doing of this strange man.

"You..."

He was about to speak when he suddenly thought, "Hey, why am I scolding His Majesty? This man is the Emperor I am sworn to serve."

So he broke out in a cold sweat and quickly knelt down, saying, "Your subordinate greets His Majesty the Emperor."

Wang Bo looked at the faint glow of the Soul Stone on the Infinity Gauntlet and cracked a smile. The Infinity Stones were truly effective, effortlessly helping him subdue these soldiers.

After Wang Bo had brainwashed all the senior officers, the Death Star fell into his hands.

From now on, he could do whatever he wanted here. Having dealt with this group, Wang Bo ordered Tarkin to handle the mess he had just created, then returned alone to the Millennium Falcon.

However, Obi-Wan and his group were no longer on the Millennium Falcon. While Wang Bo was causing chaos, they had secretly left the ship to find a way off the Death Star.

And in fact, they had succeeded.

Obi-Wan had already turned off the Death Star's gravity field, and the Millennium Falcon could leave the Death Star at any time.

But what surprised Wang Bo was that Han Solo and Luke had broken into the Death Star's prison and rescued a beautiful woman in white.

And Wang Bo had seen this woman before—she was the one who had appeared in R2-D2's hologram, seeking help from Obi-Wan.

She was actually here too, which caught Wang Bo somewhat by surprise.

As for the remaining two robots, they had already taken control of the surveillance room and were providing assistance to the group.

A crowd was rushing toward this location, attempting to rendezvous at the Millennium Falcon.

Wang Bo simply waited for them here.

Before long, the group broke through the encirclement of the stormtroopers, fought their way out, and finally reached the tarmac where the Millennium Falcon was parked.

But the stormtroopers pursued relentlessly, forcing the group to retreat while fighting.

Just then, Wang Bo snapped his fingers.

Instantly, all the stormtroopers ceased fire, holstered their weapons, and slowly backed away.

Obi-Wan and the others were baffled.

Han Solo wiped the cold sweat from his forehead. "What the hell is going on?"

The woman in white looked around, spotted Wang Bo, and quietly asked Luke beside her, "Who is that?"

Luke saw Wang Bo and couldn't hide his delight. "You're back."

Obi-Wan saw Wang Bo and breathed a sigh of relief, seeming to understand something. "Was that you just now?"

Wang Bo nodded.

Obi-Wan looked at the Infinity Gauntlet on Wang Bo's right hand. "Is it that?"

From the first time he saw Wang Bo, he knew that the glove studded with gems on Wang Bo's right hand was no ordinary thing—it was something very fearsome—but he had never asked about it.

Because it was Wang Bo's possession.

But today, for the first time, he saw the power of this glove.

Wang Bo nodded again, and at the same time, Luke explained to the woman in white, "This is Obi-Wan's apprentice, my senior brother."

The woman in white glanced at Obi-Wan, who acknowledged the statement.

The woman in white trusted Obi-Wan somewhat, so she stopped questioning Wang Bo's identity and instead said, "Regardless, we should leave here as soon as possible. It's not safe."

Wang Bo shook his head and said, "No need to rush. It's very safe here."

The woman in white was startled and looked at Wang Bo with some wariness. "Why do you say that?"

"Because I have already taken control of the Death Star," Wang Bo said with a smile. "You saw it just now."

Obi-Wan looked at Wang Bo thoughtfully. "Still relying on its power?"

"Yes."

Obi-Wan felt uneasy and spoke up. "Because this is your possession, I have never asked about it. But now I must ask: what exactly is the glove you are wearing?"

"The Infinity Gauntlet."

"Infinity Gauntlet?" Obi-Wan shook his head, indicating he had never heard of it.

Wang Bo said calmly, "Long ago, there was a powerful cosmic entity in the universe—the Goddess of Death. She possessed eternal life but grew weary of it all, splitting herself into six gems: Space, Soul, Time, Mind, Power, and Reality."

"These six gems are the most powerful treasures in the universe. Gathering all six Infinity Stones allows the user to greatly influence or alter the entire universe according to their will."

"And the Infinity Gauntlet is a tool created to harness the power of the six Infinity Stones."

In fact, in the Marvel universe, there are two versions of the origin of the Infinity Stones.

One is the Goddess of Death that Wang Bo mentioned.

Actually, she split into not six but seven gems, including a seventh Self Gem. When all seven gems are combined, the Goddess of Death would reemerge.

But unfortunately, the Self Gem is a gem that no one can obtain.

Thus, gathering all seven gems is nearly impossible.

Another version, mentioned in Guardians of the Galaxy, is that the Infinity Stones were forged from the essences of six singularities before the Big Bang. The stones are oval-shaped, 4-5 inches long, with smooth surfaces.

They have nothing to do with the Goddess of Death.

But regardless of which version, it was all too fantastical.

Obi-Wan and the others were completely baffled, finding it hard to believe.

The woman in white even let out a snicker, thinking Wang Bo's words were nothing but the ravings of a madman, utterly unworthy of belief.

Wang Bo didn't mind. Whether they believed him or not, he wouldn't lose a single piece of flesh.

Moreover, Wang Bo wouldn't force them to believe his words.

Although Obi-Wan didn't quite believe Wang Bo's story either, he could see that the Infinity Stone in Wang Bo's hand was indeed immensely powerful. So he slowly asked, "Have you really taken control of the Death Star?"

Wang Bo nodded and said, "That's right. All the high-ranking officials of the Death Star are under my control. Now the Death Star is our backyard; there's no need to run."

Hearing this, the woman in white was overjoyed. "Are you serious? That's wonderful!"

She had seen the power of the Death Star; it was incredibly formidable.

With just one shot, it had destroyed her home planet.

She was still haunted by the Death Star.

Even when imprisoned by Darth Vader, she had been thinking about how to destroy this massive weapon to save the Rebel Alliance. But she never expected that the Death Star would now fall into their hands.
