Chapter 018: Argument

Leia, not waiting for Wang Bo's rebuttal, continued: "Human ambition is endless. You obtained the Galactic Empire effortlessly today, and tomorrow you'll want more."

"Your ambition will reach galaxies beyond the Milky Way. You will wage war to get everything you desire."

"Because you gained the Galactic Empire too easily, you won't cherish it, nor will you cherish every life."

"Your ambition will drive you to plunder endlessly."

"You..."

Hearing this, Wang Bo's face turned cold. Without waiting for Leia to continue, he directly rebuked: "Nonsense!"

Leia was taken aback.

Wang Bo snorted coldly and said calmly: "These are just your fantasies. You're projecting yourself onto me. You don't understand me at all. Waging war, getting everything? That's utter nonsense."

"Not to mention why I would be driven by ambition rather than subduing it. Even if, hypothetically, I wanted to conquer galaxies outside the Milky Way, why would I wage war?"

"What benefit would war bring me? Just to kill more people?"

"That's laughable."

"Since I can take over the Galactic Empire without bloodshed, I can do the same with other galaxies. So I would never wage war—that would be the stupidest approach."

Leia was left speechless.

But Luke couldn't stand it anymore and said loudly: "I think this is wrong."

"What's wrong?" Wang Bo turned to look at Luke.

Luke hesitated, then said: "People's thoughts should be free. You shouldn't control others. That's wrong and unjust."

Hearing this, Wang Bo couldn't help but laugh, his gaze locking onto Leia. "You see, this is the truth. The reason you find me dangerous isn't ambition or war—those are just your excuses. What you fear is my methods. You're afraid I'll control you, aren't you, Ms. Leia?"

Leia's body trembled, as if Wang Bo had hit a nerve.

Wang Bo continued: "Put yourself in my shoes. If there were a man beside me who could control others' thoughts, I'd be scared too, even terrified. Even if he hasn't controlled me now, who can guarantee he won't in the future? So, if I can't defeat him, there's only one way out."

Wang Bo raised a finger and said slowly: "Flee!"

"Flee as far as possible, escape from this man's side, find a safe distance—that's what ordinary people think, and that's why you left."

"Of course, you're not ordinary people, especially you, Ms. Leia. You're an excellent rebel."

"The reason you want to flee is partly that you don't want to be controlled, and partly you're thinking: if I control the entire galaxy and do something heinous, what then?"

"So you won't join me; instead, you'll hide, resist me, and even try to eliminate me, right?"

Leia remained silent.

Luke said: "Leia would never think that way."

Wang Bo sneered dismissively: "You're not Leia, so how do you know she doesn't think that? Just because she's beautiful, you think she's kind-hearted?"

Luke was speechless.

Wang Bo said: "The truly kind-hearted one isn't the leader of the Rebel Alliance beside you, but yourself, Luke. You grew up on Tatooine, haven't seen much of the world, innocent and kind, full of passion. Just because a woman asked for help, you traveled thousands of miles to come here."

"Compared to this woman who grew up in politics, you're the true hot-blooded youth."

Obi-Wan interrupted Wang Bo's words, "Don't say anymore, Wang Bo."

Wang Bo still held considerable respect for Obi-Wan, so he shut his mouth. Of course, he wasn't looking down on Leia.

Although Leia grew up in a political family, she was not a scheming bitch.

On the contrary, she was brave, decisive, and a woman who could hold her own against men—a rather outstanding woman, otherwise she wouldn't have attracted Luke so deeply.

But she was ultimately a political figure; compared to the kind-hearted Luke, she lacked a bit of innocence and passion.

Wang Bo smiled and didn't take these words seriously.

They were just pleasantries.

If Obi-Wan truly wasn't afraid, he wouldn't have left without saying goodbye; at least he should have given a heads-up before leaving.

Did he really think Wang Bo would control them?

Obi-Wan paused and asked, "What do you want to do?"

"Surrender, of course."

Wang Bo said matter-of-factly, "Preferably on the day I become Emperor, surrender to me. At the same time, I can promise to accept your existence, not move against you, and not settle scores later, achieving complete unification of the Galactic Empire."

Obi-Wan said with difficulty, "I can't make that decision."

Wang Bo had no choice but to turn his gaze to Leia.

Leia's eyes flickered a few times, and she shook her head, saying, "Please allow us to decline."

"Why?"

"Because I'm not sure what the Galactic Empire will be like after you take over. If it continues to oppress the people, the Rebel Alliance will not stand idly by."

"Then you can rest assured, I won't oppress the people. I haven't stooped that low yet," Wang Bo guaranteed.

Leia shook her head, "We need to observe."

Wang Bo asked, "Observe what? My future actions?"

"Yes."

"You really don't trust me."

Leia retorted, "Should I trust you?"

Wang Bo thought for a moment and said, "Fair enough. After all, we are just strangers who have just met. It's not strange that you don't trust me. But let me give you a warning: if the Rebel Alliance stands in my way, I will crush you without hesitation."

With that, Wang Bo ended the projection.
