Chapter 017 Ambition

获得主角能力的我只想过平凡生活 · 第017章 野心

Leia looked at Wang Bo, her eyes shifting several times, unable to speak.

Yes, Wang Bo, an outsider, had become the leader of the Death Star, and even Governor Tarkin respected him and served him. So it wasn't entirely inconceivable for him to become Emperor.

As long as he could control the upper echelons of the Galactic Empire the same way he controlled the Death Star's high command, he would be the de facto Emperor.

Even the current Emperor couldn't defeat Wang Bo.

But this was precisely what worried Leia the most.

Because Wang Bo could control others' minds. If he controlled her, and through her, the Rebel Alliance...

Then he would truly be the Emperor of the Galactic Empire.

At least within the Galactic Empire, there would be no more rebels, and any order could be transmitted without hindrance.

The entire Galactic Empire would be his one-man show.

If he were a benevolent Jedi, it would be the galaxy's fortune.

But if he were corrupted by power and became a tyrant, who could resist such a tyrant?

No one.

Even if someone rose against Wang Bo in the future, as long as he found them and controlled them, his rule would be as unshakable as a rock.

He was a man more terrifying than Palpatine.

Could such a man truly become Emperor of the Galactic Empire? Leia doubted it from the bottom of her heart.

Wang Bo glanced at Leia with a faint smile, well aware of her thoughts, but he didn't call her out. Instead, he had Governor Tarkin lead everyone on a tour of the Death Star.

However, the massive Death Star couldn't be toured in a single day; there were too many areas.

From day to night, when everyone was tired, they hadn't even finished touring one sector.

Just then, Leia suggested they eat and rest, and continue the tour tomorrow.

Wang Bo had no objection. He nodded to Governor Tarkin and said, "Prepare some suitable rooms for them."

"Yes, Your Majesty." Governor Tarkin nodded and complied obediently.

Wang Bo found someone to lead everyone to a nearby restaurant for a delicious dinner.

After dinner, everyone returned to their rooms.

Governor Tarkin had prepared a luxurious suite for Wang Bo. After taking a shower in the suite, Wang Bo lay down on the soft sofa and fell asleep.

But halfway through his sleep, he was suddenly awakened by a frantic knocking on the door.

Frowning, Wang Bo opened the door to find a female secretary standing there, saying to him, "Sir, the Governor has urgent business with you."

This female secretary was only a mid-level manager on the Death Star and wasn't aware of Wang Bo's identity.

Thus, she could only address him as "Sir."

Wang Bo nodded, changed clothes, and arrived at the Death Star's command center. He found Governor Tarkin, General Tagge, Colonel Motti, and others present.

Darth Vader was also there.

On the command center's wall, a projection showed a ship lifting off and departing from the Death Star.

Wang Bo recognized at a glance that it was the Millennium Falcon.

Darth Vader said calmly, "It seems Obi-Wan and his group are trying to escape. Should we intercept them?"

Wang Bo shook his head and said, "Let it go."

During the day's tour, Wang Bo had sensed Leia's wariness toward him, but he hadn't expected her to flee under cover of night.

Wang Bo thought for a moment and said, "Connect me to the Millennium Falcon's comm."

"Yes." Colonel Motti immediately relayed the order. After some technical adjustments, the technicians signaled readiness.

Wang Bo cleared his throat and said slowly, "Leaving so soon, Master Obi-Wan?"

The man had taught him the Force; calling him "Master" was not inappropriate.

Aboard the Millennium Falcon, Han Solo, seeing the forcibly inserted communication, made a helpless gesture at Obi-Wan.

Luke and Leia both looked at Obi-Wan.

Obi-Wan took a deep breath and said, "Please forgive our abrupt departure, Wang Bo. We have very important matters to attend to."

"Important matters? You mean delivering the Death Star's weakness to the Rebel Alliance?" Wang Bo said calmly.

Obi-Wan remained silent.

"You are wary of me, Master Obi-Wan." Wang Bo sat in a chair, projecting his image onto the Millennium Falcon, where he saw Obi-Wan.

"When you taught me the Force, you only taught me basic applications and some lightsaber techniques. You never taught me advanced Force techniques. Do you distrust me that much?"

Obi-Wan's lips moved as if he wanted to say something, but in the end, he said nothing.

Wang Bo said, "Now we can change the Galactic Empire, yet you still choose to leave. Master Obi-Wan, do you have so little faith in me? In your eyes, am I a cruel man?"

Obi-Wan shook his head and said, "No, you are not a cruel man. I am certain of that."

"Then why do you still leave?" Wang Bo said. "I think you should stay and help me. Once I become Emperor of the Galactic Empire, I can allow you to rebuild the Jedi Order, even serve as its Grand Master."

Obi-Wan was tempted.

"Obi-Wan, don't fall for it." But just then, Leia suddenly spoke, warning Obi-Wan.

Obi-Wan was startled.

Leia stepped forward, looking directly at Wang Bo's projection, and said slowly, "You are dangerous, Wang Bo."

"Is that so?" Wang Bo said noncommittally.

Leia said, "You can control the Death Star's high command, making them loyal to you. Then you can control the Empire's high command and become Emperor. Next, you could even control the Rebel Alliance's leadership, making them surrender. The entire Galactic Empire would become your toy."

"So you think I'm dangerous?" Wang Bo said with a faint smile.

"Yes." Leia nodded. "You are more dangerous than Palpatine. Palpatine put in tremendous effort to become Emperor. But you can achieve it with a snap of your fingers. What's worse, people often don't cherish what they get too easily."

"That's your prejudice, Miss Leia. How do you know I won't cherish it?" Wang Bo countered.

"Then tell me, in your eyes, what is the Galactic Empire?"

"A vast empire," Wang Bo said.

"No." Leia shook her head. "It is a vast responsibility. The Emperor is responsible for countless lives and species in the galaxy. So the Galactic Empire is a vast responsibility. But in your eyes, I see no responsibility, only ambition."
