Chapter 014: Social Beatdown

获得主角能力的我只想过平凡生活 · 第014章 社会性毒打

"Benny, Benny, Benny, where are you, Benny..."

In the corridor of the steamship, O'Connor walked while softly calling out someone's name—this person had left too deep an impression on him.

I might never forget this in my entire life.

If he didn't give this person a good lesson, the foul anger in his heart would have no way to be vented.

Whenever he thought about what had happened back then, O'Connor would feel a surge of anger. He had once thought he had forgotten about it, but now it seemed he was not as magnanimous as he had imagined.

But it didn't matter; he would soon be in a cheerful mood.

After walking around the ship without finding Benny, O'Connor couldn't help but doubt what Wang Bo had said.

Just then, he suddenly remembered that Benny seemed to have become a guide for a few Americans, so he went to a certain cabin and knocked on the door.

On the boat in the morning, when he saw these Americans, he even chatted with them for a few sentences and learned where they were staying.

Bang, bang, bang...

“Who is it?” A man opened the door and, seeing O'Connor, was quite surprised. “O'Connor, it's you. Is there something you need from me?”

"Actually, I'm looking for your team leader, Benny." O'Connor said.

"What do you want with him?" The man was somewhat wary.

O'Connor said, "Benny and I used to be good friends. When I heard he was also on the ship this time, I wanted to find him and catch up."

"Friend? How come I've never heard that fellow mention it."

"Because we haven't seen each other for a long time—about three years, I suppose." O'Connor said calmly.

The man glanced at O'Connor a few times, seemingly finding nothing amiss, and said, "That fellow doesn't stay in this room. He's in a room upstairs, at the last corner of the corridor."

"Thank you."

"You're welcome. By the way, you and Benny know each other?"

O'Connor smiled slightly and said, 'We got to know each other when we were in the same unit.'

With that, O'Connor turned and went upstairs.

Bang, bang, bang...

Walking to the last room at the corner of the corridor, O'Connor gently knocked on the door and, in the same motion, drew his pistol, eager for action.

With a creak, the door had just opened a crack when O'Connor charged at it without hesitation.

With a dull thud, the person opening the door, caught off guard, was knocked to the ground.

O'Connor stumbled in, and upon seeing the man on the ground, couldn't help but reveal an excited grin. "Haha, look who it is, if it isn't my old pal Benny?"

"O-O-O-O'Connor!" Benny's voice stammered at the sight of O'Connor.

If O'Connor was a pleasant surprise, he was a shock.

He never dreamed that he would run into O'Connor here.

"Benny, my old friend, it's been a long time." O'Connell looked with amusement at Benny, who was sitting on the ground and backing away, and brandished the pistol in his hand.

“What am I going to do with you, Benny.”

When Benny saw the gun in O'Connor's hand, his face turned green with fear that O'Connor might shoot him dead. He knew all too well how badly he had screwed the man over.

"O'Connor, thank God, you're alive. That's wonderful. I was so worried about you. Seeing you safe makes me happier than anything, truly."

Benny was willing to say anything nice to save his life.

"Are you so happy to see me still alive?"

"Yes, yes, I'm very happy." Benny nodded repeatedly, his survival depending on his performance.

"How happy?" O'Connor asked.

Benny: ...

O'Connor aimed the gun at Benny. "I think I might as well just shoot you dead."

"No, no, no, think of my child. You wouldn't want him to grow up an orphan like us, would you?" Benny shouted miserably.

"Shut up, Benny, you don't have any children." O'Connor knew this guy well.

"There will be in the future."

"Heh heh..." O'Conner gave a mirthless smile, but he still returned the gun to its holster. That guy had indeed screwed him over badly back then, but O'Conner had survived.

Out of consideration for their past friendship, he did not intend to kill Benny, but he would never let the bastard off easy.

“Stand up, Benny.”

"You've forgiven me." Benny looked at O'Connell pitifully.

"Yes, I forgive you." O'Connor nodded.

Benny finally stood up, still muttering, "Thank goodness, you have no idea how worried I was... pfft!"

O'Connor saw that this guy was still playing innocent, so without hesitation, he threw a punch at him.

Bennett spat out a large mouthful of saliva and knelt on the ground, clutching his stomach.

“O…O'Connor?”

"Shut up, Benni, you owe me this." O'Connor punched the guy down, then landed another blow directly on Benni's face.

Although he wouldn't kill this fellow, he still intended to teach him a good lesson.

"Clench your teeth, Benny!"

Having lost the initiative, Benny could only hold his head, curl up as much as possible, and grit his teeth to endure this social beating.

But he swore that as long as he didn't die, he would definitely take revenge.

Of course, outwardly, Benny kept screaming, "Forgive me, O'Conner, I didn't mean it. Ah, it hurts, my ribs, my ribs are breaking."

After a vicious beating, O'Connor finally vented some of the anger in his heart and plopped down onto the sofa.

Banni lay on the ground, groaning incessantly.

O'Connor leaned back on the sofa and asked, "So, you are now the leader of the Americans."

Benny nodded miserably.

"So you plan to leave them in the desert to fend for themselves?" O'Conner asked sarcastically.

"No... sss." Benny touched his wound as soon as he spoke, and the pain made him suck in a sharp breath. He said cautiously, "Not this time. The Americans are cunning. They only paid half the money; the other half will be paid when we reach Hamunaptra."

"Indeed, very cunning." O'Connor nodded and said.

Benny rubbed his wound and asked, "And you, you never believed in Hamunaptra, so why are you going back?"

"This is none of your business, Benny." O'Connor stood up, looking down at Benny. "This time, you go your way, I go mine. Don't get in my way, Benny, or I really will shoot you dead."

Benny nodded repeatedly, frightened.

O'Connor smiled with satisfaction and turned to leave, but he did not see the look in Benny's eyes behind him, filled with coldness and venom. Benny had never been one to suffer a loss first; having been taught a lesson by O'Connor this time, he remembered it. He swore that when the opportunity arose in the future, he would retaliate, no matter the cost!
