Chapter 012 Transformation
获得主角能力的我只想过平凡生活 · 第012章 变形
Tony Stark felt that Yinsen was absolutely right. His current goal was not to sulk with this guy, but to get out of here—that was the top priority.
"You're right, Yinsen."
Tony turned and walked toward the entrance of the cave. He decided to temporarily put this matter aside. Once he got back and upgraded this suit of armor, he would come back to challenge this monster.
So Tony vented all his pent-up anger on the members of the Ten Rings.
He kicked open the door and, relying on the firepower of the Mark I, bulldozed his way out.
Along the way, blood flowed like a river.
The members of the Ten Rings were completely caught off guard. They never imagined that Tony Stark could build such a powerful weapon out of scrap in a cave.
Invulnerable to blades and bullets, impervious to fire and water—bullets hitting him were no different from a tickle.
Amid despair and screams, Tony Stark was like a god of death.
He mercilessly reaped every life he saw.
Wang Bo watched coldly, showing no reaction. Although he was unwilling to stain his hands with blood or kill anyone himself, he was no saint either.
He knew very well that the members of the Ten Rings were all terrorists, each deserving death.
So Wang Bo did not stop him.
After Tony Stark fought his way out of the cave, whenever he saw weapons and ammunition, he fired a shell, blowing up the Ten Rings' arsenal. The explosions sent up huge waves and flames, swallowing countless lives.
But Tony Stark did not waver.
Because he knew these people deserved to die. Over the years, they had killed countless people. Even if judged by law, ten lives would not be enough to atone.
What made Tony even more uncomfortable was that most of the weapons they used to kill were produced by Stark Industries.
This made him feel like an accomplice.
So he felt he had to do something—like kill all these bandits and destroy all the weapons.
Driven by this sense of atonement, Tony Stark became a righteous hero.
When Tony Stark calmed down, he found that the Ten Rings' base had been completely destroyed, including the leader—all the bandits had been killed by him.
Blood and flames had turned this land into hell.
When the explosions and fighting subsided, Yinsen walked out of the cave and saw all kinds of corpses.
The air was still thick with the smell of roasted meat.
This made Yinsen want to vomit. He leaned against the wall and threw up heavily.
Tony Stark steadied himself, walked over, and grabbed Yinsen. "Let's go, Yinsen."
Then he activated the flame thrower, and with tremendous thrust, he flew into the sky carrying Yinsen.
Wang Bo walked out of the cave and clapped his hands. The ground caved into large pits, burying the corpses. He extracted the air, and the flames, deprived of oxygen, slowly died out.
Soon, the blood and flames disappeared, and the corpses vanished.
After everything returned to calm, Wang Bo still saw no unexpected surprise. He scratched his head, wondering when the surprise the Ancient One had spoken of would arrive.
Maybe he should go ask the Ancient One.
Just as Wang Bo was about to leave, something suddenly appeared in the sky.
Wang Bo looked up and couldn't help but smile.
The surprise had come.
On the other hand, after leaving the Ten Rings' territory, Tony and Yinsen hadn't flown far before the Mark I's flame thrower developed a minor glitch.
With cries of alarm, they fell from the sky.
Fortunately, they weren't flying too high, and below them was a stretch of sand. So both Tony and Yinsen survived, not smashed into pulp.
Yinsen climbed out of the sand, spitting out the grit, and complained to Tony Stark, "I thought I was going to die."
Tony crawled out of the wrecked Mark I and apologized sheepishly, "It was just a small problem. Anyway, we escaped, Yinsen."
"Yes, we escaped." Yinsen didn't deny that, but looking at the endless yellow sand, he said helplessly, "But we're stranded in the desert, Tony. No water, no food. How long do you think we can last?"
Tony Stark was silent for a moment, then said, "Maybe someone can help us."
Yinsen immediately caught on. "You mean that mysterious man only you can see?"
"Yes." Tony Stark nodded.
Yinsen felt that the man seemed to have a grudge against Tony, but right now, he was their only hope. "Maybe we should go back and see that mysterious man?"
Tony was about to speak when he suddenly heard a roar. He looked up at the sky. A huge object fell from the sky and crashed in front of them.
With a thunderous boom, the shockwave kicked up a massive wave of sand that nearly buried them.
After a while, when the explosion subsided, Tony crawled out of the sand and shouted, "Yinsen! Yinsen! Where are you, Yinsen?"
"I'm here." Yinsen sat up abruptly and started spitting out sand again.
Tony Stark, relieved to see Yinsen was okay, then remembered the explosion. "What was that?"
"I don't know." Yinsen shook his head, stood up, and said, "Looks like a meteorite?"
Tony patted him on the shoulder and raised the Mark I's weapon. "Whatever it is, we should go check it out."
Yinsen nodded.
They strode forward toward the crash site. As they got closer, a huge crater came into view.
And at the center of the crater in the sand was a hyper-futuristic jet plane.
They were baffled. A jet plane had fallen from the sky?
Could it be some kind of aircraft accident, forced to land in this desert?
But they were both excited. Tony said confidently, "Maybe we're saved."
Tony was full of confidence that he could fix the plane. He was Tony Stark—how could he fail to repair a plane?
So he cheered and ran toward the jet plane.
But as he approached, the hyper-futuristic jet suddenly trembled. Cracks appeared on its smooth surface, and then, to Yinsen's horror, the jet transformed into a towering mechanical lifeform.
Tony's cheers came to an abrupt halt.
