Chapter 013: Strike First to Gain the Upper Hand
获得主角能力的我只想过平凡生活 · 第013章 先下手为强
The towering mechanical lifeform did not notice Tony Stark.
Or rather, he had noticed him, but he did not care, because he was well aware that these carbon-based lifeforms posed no threat to him whatsoever.
They were weak, unarmed, and lacked resolve—utterly insignificant.
Such beings were not worthy of his, Megatron's, attention.
Yes, he was Megatron, leader of the Decepticons, archenemy of Optimus Prime, and former commander of the Cybertronian Defense Force.
Once, he could have led Cybertron to greatness, but Optimus Prime had thwarted him, forcing him to wage a desperate war with his Decepticons against the Autobots under Optimus's command.
In the end, Cybertron was destroyed.
Even the AllSpark, the most vital artifact of the Transformers, had been lost to the dark expanse of space, its whereabouts unknown.
But Megatron would not give up. Driven by his ambition, he set out alone on a wandering journey to find the AllSpark, traversing one vast galaxy after another until he finally felt its call and pinpointed its location.
After a long interstellar voyage, he had at last arrived at the AllSpark's resting place.
Now, all he had to do was find the AllSpark, and he could effortlessly create an army of Decepticons, conquer this planet, and turn it into a new Cybertron.
In the end, he would lead this reborn Cybertron to become the master of the universe.
What a magnificent future that would be.
Meanwhile, Tony Stark cautiously observed the mechanical lifeform, his mind racing with questions about what this thing really was.
Was it an alien visitor or some nation's secret weapon?
But in his view, the former seemed more likely; given the incompetence of the fools on Earth, they couldn't possibly have created such a massive, shape-shifting mechanical lifeform.
Seeing that the being hadn't attacked him immediately, Tony Stark wondered if it might be open to communication.
So he lifted his head, steadied his voice to avoid showing weakness on behalf of Earth, chose his words carefully, and said, "Do you... do you speak English, or any Earth language? Can you tell me your name, where you're from, and why you've come to Earth?"
Megatron looked down at the chattering carbon-based lifeform. After connecting to Earth's network, he quickly learned the language, which he found far too simplistic.
"I can understand your language, Earthling," Megatron said in fluent English. Just now, he had not sensed the AllSpark's presence.
He suspected that the AllSpark might have been discovered and hidden by the natives of this planet.
Moreover, when he studied Earth's language, he learned that this particular carbon-based lifeform held a high status on this primitive planet.
So Megatron decided to first communicate with this being and use him to obtain the AllSpark.
Tony Stark, seeing that the being was willing to talk, grew more excited and asked, "Can you tell me the purpose of your visit to this planet?"
"I have come in pursuit of the sacred treasure of our race, the Transformers," Megatron said, having already prepared an excuse. "Long ago, a band of raiders came to our planet and stole our treasure."
"We pursued them immediately and destroyed them, but before they died, they launched our sacred treasure into the boundless stars."
"To find the treasure, I embarked on a journey. Centuries ago, I felt its call and came to this planet, human."
"I hope you can help me find our race's sacred treasure. I will reward you, human."
Tony Stark looked doubtfully at the seemingly sincere mechanical lifeform, his mind churning with guesses about how much of its story was true.
He wasn't some naive fool who believed everything he was told.
Though the mechanical lifeform's story sounded plausible, who knew if it was just a lie.
But for now, Tony Stark needed help, so he said, "No problem. If that treasure really is yours, I'll help you. But first, I need your help."
"No problem, human. I am willing to help you," Megatron replied immediately.
Tony Stark breathed a sigh of relief. Once he got out of this place and returned to New York, he could easily build an even more powerful Iron Man suit.
Then, even if this alien visitor had ulterior motives, he could defeat him.
"By the way, my name is Tony Stark. What's yours?"
"My name is... Opti..."
"His name is Megatron!"
Just as Megatron was about to utter his archenemy's name, a voice suddenly rang out from afar. Megatron was startled and whipped his head around.
A carbon-based lifeform appeared in Megatron's field of vision.
But what shocked Megatron was that his scans revealed this carbon-based lifeform's body was filled with immense energy—every cell contained far more energy than an energy cube.
How was that possible?!
Even more astonishing, how did this high-energy carbon-based lifeform know his name? He had never been to this Earth before.
Could it be that some Transformers had already arrived on this planet before him?
If so, he had been exposed.
Megatron's electronic eyes flickered uncertainly, as if deep in thought.
Wang Bo instantly appeared beside Tony, gazing up at the towering Megatron. Just as the Ancient One had said, this was indeed an unexpected boon.
He hadn't expected to find the time traveler so easily.
It seemed he would soon be able to leave this world.
"Hello, Megatron," Wang Bo said with a smile.
Just as Megatron was about to speak, Wang Bo continued, "And now, goodbye, Megatron."
In an instant, Megatron's wariness shot to its peak. Without hesitation, his mechanical right hand clicked and transformed into a weapon, aiming at Wang Bo's forehead!
Bang!
An energy blast slammed into Wang Bo's face, sending him flying.
Megatron was stunned. Had it been that easy? This carbon-based lifeform was far too easy to deal with.
But soon, Megatron realized something was wrong.
The carbon-based lifeform was completely unharmed—not even a scratch on his skin.
Even Optimus Prime wouldn't dare face his attack head-on.
As Megatron stood there in shock, Wang Bo flew back at even greater speed and kicked Megatron square in the chest.
Megatron had always prided himself on his speed, but now he realized that his vaunted speed was... pathetically slow.
"There you go!"
