Chapter 028: Not All Bald Guys Are Big Shots
获得主角能力的我只想过平凡生活 · 第028章 光头不是大佬
In the Marvel world, bald big shots are not uncommon.
For instance, the Ancient One is a true bald big shot, and Thanos also counts as one. Besides these two, no other bald guys amount to much.
Nick Fury is also bald, but he lacks strength. He's not even as good as another bald guy, Red Skull.
Future Vision is also a big shot, but his track record is somewhat embarrassing.
Although this big shot can lift Thor's hammer effortlessly and is made of indestructible vibranium, his achievements are truly shameful.
He was beaten by Thanos's minions, beaten by Thanos himself, and ultimately didn't even get a chance to be resurrected.
As far as Wang Bo knew, after the Avengers' Endgame, Thanos was dead, but this guy still hadn't been revived.
Who knows if he'll ever be resurrected in the future.
If Wang Bo had the Time Stone, he could peek into the future. But unfortunately, the Ancient One had decided that the Time Stone would be left for Doctor Strange, so he had no hope.
And the Baron Strucker before Wang Bo was also bald, but among bald guys, he held no status at all.
"Welcome, Mr. Justin Hammer."
Baron Strucker greeted Wang Bo with great enthusiasm, holding Wang Bo's hand without letting go. "I've heard so much about you, Mr. Justin Hammer. Without a doubt, you are a genius, a true genius."
Wang Bo always dismissed such exaggeration.
He knew better than anyone whether he was a genius. Such flattery was just to be taken lightly; anyone who took it seriously was a fool.
But that didn't stop Wang Bo from returning the courtesy. "I've also heard a lot about you, Baron Strucker. To be honest, I never thought I'd have the chance to meet you one day."
Baron Strucker's heart tightened slightly. From these words, he knew that the other party had recognized his Hydra identity. Although he didn't value this identity much, he was well aware of Hydra's secrecy.
Nowadays, the whole world believed that Hydra had been defeated by Captain America during World War II and had vanished.
So how did Justin Hammer know they were Hydra?
Or when did he find out?
Baron Strucker grew more cautious inwardly, but his smile became even brighter. "Please, have a seat, Mr. Justin Hammer."
Wang Bo nodded and sat down, then asked, "Where is my secretary, Baron Strucker?"
"She's fine, Mr. Justin Hammer. Believe me, we have not offended her in the slightest." Baron Strucker lied through his teeth.
Wang Bo had to admit that was a skill in itself.
"That's good." He pretended to be relieved and let out a sigh, then said, "I'll skip the pleasantries, Strucker."
This time Wang Bo even omitted the title 'Baron.' "From what you said earlier, you want to recruit me?"
"Yes." Strucker nodded. "We warmly welcome your joining, Mr. Justin Hammer."
"Then let me ask, why should I join you? What benefits are there for me?"
"Of course. If you are willing to join us, we can offer you a tremendous benefit."
"What benefit?"
"How about the Moon and Mars? Do you think that's enough?" Strucker crossed his hands over his stomach, a smile of complete confidence on his face.
Wang Bo raised an eyebrow in surprise. "Can you make the United Nations return the ownership of the Moon and Mars to me?"
Hydra might be powerful, but were they really that impressive?
Depriving Wang Bo of his ownership of the Moon and Mars was a decision made by the vast majority of countries.
In Wang Bo's view, Hydra could control a few countries, which was already remarkable, but it probably couldn't control most countries.
"Yes, we can do it, but it will take a little time."
Wang Bo realized. "That's a blank check, Strucker."
Strucker shook his head. "It's not a blank check, Mr. Hammer. It's inevitable. Since you know who we are, you must know our ambitions and capabilities."
"I can tell you that compared to World War II, our strength is greater and our concealment deeper."
"Now, we have people in every country."
"As long as you join us and we work together, helping you reclaim Mars and the Moon is only a matter of time."
"Trust me, trust us, Mr. Hammer. We are more sincere than anyone. You've been bullied by the UN; you know their true colors."
"They are greedy yet very powerful. Apart from us, no one will sincerely help you."
"If you want revenge on them, only we can do it."
"What do you think, Mr. Justin Hammer?"
Wang Bo listened quietly to Strucker's speech and then said slowly, "You're quite eloquent, Strucker."
"I'm not good at speeches." Strucker said. "I'm better at research. You haven't told me your decision yet, Mr. Hammer."
"I agree." Wang Bo nodded, stood up, and extended his hand to Strucker. "I agree to join you."
"That's a wise choice." Strucker shook Wang Bo's hand.
"But I have conditions."
"Go ahead."
"I don't want to start as a grunt, with everyone throwing their weight around me."
"Of course, Hammer." Strucker said. "I'll secure a position for you, at least on par with mine."
"Good." Wang Bo nodded in satisfaction.
Strucker said, "But I need a little time to convince the others."
"Fine."
"In the meantime, I hope you can stay here. Is that okay, Mr. Hammer?"
Wang Bo said humorously, "I hope the coffee here is good."
Strucker laughed heartily. "I can provide you with the best coffee."
Then, Wang Bo was taken away by Strucker's orders. Hydra members prepared a very upscale room for Wang Bo and granted him extensive access.
Except for some secret areas, nothing was off-limits to Wang Bo, as if they already treated him as a VIP.
At least on the surface.
When Wang Bo asked to see his secretary, the Hydra members didn't hesitate. They nodded and readily agreed. That evening, Wang Bo saw Julia, whom they had kidnapped.
Wang Bo's blonde secretary was terrified. Upon seeing Wang Bo, she clung to him tightly.
After a long while, she finally calmed her churning heart.
