Chapter 034: Hypothesis

获得主角能力的我只想过平凡生活 · 第034章 假说

After Nick Fury left, the representatives from various countries entered once again.

Their purpose was simple: they hoped Wang Bo would resume work as soon as possible, manufacturing spaceships to deliver on time.

After listening to them, Wang Bo sneered, placing his right hand on the table and tapping his fingers lightly, producing a rhythmic tapping sound.

"You're dreaming. If you want me to continue building spaceships, fine—give me back the Moon and Mars."

The crowd sneered back. One of them said without hesitation, "You should understand that the United Nations will never allow anyone to control two planets."

Wang Bo smiled and said, "In that case, we have nothing to discuss."

Seeing Wang Bo's firm resolve, the crowd grew furious. Behind them stood powerful nations, and they cared little for Wang Bo.

"Do you realize you're ruining your own future and making enemies of the world?"

"I don't care." Wang Bo looked indifferent.

"Are you really choosing a dead end?" someone shouted angrily.

Wang Bo said calmly, "At worst, we'll part ways. I'll take a spaceship and leave the solar system to find other civilizations, while you remain trapped here, waiting decades or centuries to leave."

The crowd was both shocked and angered. Some sharp-eyed individuals seemed to catch the implication in Wang Bo's words.

Currently, a spaceship took half an hour to reach the Moon; interstellar travel to find new civilizations was a pipe dream.

Yet Wang Bo so easily claimed he could leave Earth and seek new civilizations. This proved he possessed superior technology, possibly even space-jump technology.

Only then would he have the confidence to say such things.

Some, realizing this, thought they should report the matter and quickly extricate themselves.

Thus, this coercion ended in failure.

After leaving Hammer Industries, the representatives quickly reported the matter to their superiors.

The higher-ups took it seriously.

If Wang Bo truly had more advanced technology, the benefits would be immense—stepping out of the solar system to explore the stars was humanity's dream.

But could one person really perfect such technology?

Even a genius like Tony Stark might not achieve it; how could Justin Hammer?

Governments were skeptical.

Some thought Wang Bo was bluffing; others believed he was telling the truth.

Just then, someone proposed a hypothesis.

The hypothesis was simple: assuming Justin Hammer had interstellar travel technology, how did he obtain it?

Could he have invented space-jump technology? Impossible. If he had such ability, Tony Stark wouldn't have mocked him as a scavenger.

Yet Hammer had indeed produced anti-gravity systems and supersonic engines, and even more advanced technology.

But given his capabilities, it seemed impossible for him to create such tech.

This was contradictory.

He clearly lacked the ability to build anti-gravity systems and supersonic engines, yet he possessed them.

The answer was simple: Justin Hammer had obtained these technologies through some channel, claimed them as his own, and began selling them publicly.

That made sense.

The key now was: through what channel did Justin Hammer obtain these technologies?

If a research team had invented them, it seemed unlikely, as the world's most advanced teams were few.

Their work on anti-gravity was well known.

If it were a hidden civilian team, they likely couldn't develop such advanced tech.

Even if they could, they wouldn't necessarily cooperate with Justin Hammer, who was just an arms dealer before this, with no connection to space exploration.

Thus, the possibility of a research team could be ruled out.

So what was the channel?

This person's guess was bold.

He speculated that Justin Hammer might possess a very advanced spaceship.

This ship might have crashed on Earth by chance, and Hammer discovered it, studied it, and mastered anti-gravity and supersonic engine technology.

Moreover, Hammer's claim of seeking new civilizations might be because the spaceship contained coordinates of other civilizations, giving him confidence.

Otherwise, the universe was so vast that even with space-jump tech, getting lost could doom him.

Though absurd, this hypothesis reasonably explained why Hammer possessed such advanced tech and could even undertake interstellar travel.

Furthermore, Hammer's recent disappearance might have been him entering that spaceship; only then could they not find him.

Governments were stunned by this hypothesis, but they had to admit it was very plausible.

Perhaps Justin Hammer indeed had a very advanced spaceship.

"I think we should test it."

"Let S.H.I.E.L.D. act, get close to Justin Hammer, and find that spaceship."

"What if the spaceship doesn't exist?"

"At least we should try."

"I agree."

After deliberation, the governments made a decision. The World Security Council issued an order to Nick Fury.

Get close to Wang Bo and determine whether the spaceship exists.

Upon receiving the order, Nick Fury's head spun. He immediately summoned his most trusted agents to discuss and convey the Council's command.

"I'm out," Natasha said at once. "He's already fired me."

Coulson said, "I might not work either. This mysterious guy seems to know S.H.I.E.L.D.'s top brass quite well."

"Why do you think he knows S.H.I.E.L.D. so well?" Nick Fury countered.

"There are many reasons. Maybe we have a mole, or he hacked our network," Coulson offered several plausible explanations.

Nick Fury said, "Do you think S.H.I.E.L.D.'s network is that bad?"

Coulson replied, "If he really has a very advanced spaceship, could he use it to hack into S.H.I.E.L.D. without us noticing?"
