Chapter 033: Lowering the Head
获得主角能力的我只想过平凡生活 · 第033章 低头
Although Wang Bo had no obligation to explain anything to Natasha, he still offered an explanation.
"What I just performed is called teleportation, a very奇妙 sorcery. I can instantly transport a person to another place, and of course, I can also teleport myself to another direction."
Natasha immediately realized that he didn't need to tell her, but he did—it was a show of force.
He was using this means to tell her that he wasn't afraid of S.H.I.E.L.D. at all.
In her eyes, the ability to teleport was simply unstoppable. Even if S.H.I.E.L.D. laid a dragnet, he could leave at will.
She immediately asked, "Where did you send the Director?"
Wang Bo replied, "The ends of the earth."
"The South Pole or the North Pole?" Natasha was startled for a moment, then quickly understood what "the ends of the earth" meant.
"The South Pole, I suppose," Wang Bo said.
Natasha's heart skipped a beat. She quickly said, "He'll die. You killed the Director of S.H.I.E.L.D. There will be no room for compromise. S.H.I.E.L.D. will stop at nothing to catch you, no matter where you flee."
Neither the South Pole nor the North Pole is a place where ordinary people can survive.
Although Nick Fury was the king of spies, he was still an ordinary man. If he stayed in the South Pole for too long, he could easily freeze to death in the harsh cold.
"Sounds terrifying, but are you sure you can catch me?" Wang Bo said disdainfully. "I really don't believe S.H.I.E.L.D. can monitor every corner of the globe."
Natasha countered, "So you're willing to become a wanted man?"
Wang Bo certainly didn't want to be a wanted man—how could he live in peace then? "Alright, I'll take a step back. How about I bring him back in a few minutes?"
Natasha was helpless. She could see that Nick Fury's aggressive attitude had angered Wang Bo.
Wang Bo was determined to teach him a lesson.
But after confirming that Nick Fury wouldn't freeze to death, Natasha's mind raced, trying to glean more useful information. "Can you let me go?"
"Sure." Wang Bo snapped his fingers and released the restraint.
"What was that trick?"
"Body-binding spell, just a small trick."
"Also sorcery?" Natasha probed.
"Yes."
"So, you're a magician, or a wizard."
Wang Bo nodded. "You could say that."
"Then your spaceship—the one you built—it's not actually technology, but magic or sorcery." In that instant, Natasha's mind ran wild.
"No, no, no." Wang Bo shook his head. "That's genuine technology."
"Wow." Natasha said with some surprise. "That's unexpected—no, it's very unexpected."
"What's so surprising about that? Do you think wizards are cavemen?"
Natasha certainly wouldn't admit that she did have that thought. "No, I just... you know, I've never encountered real sorcery, and in TV shows or novels, wizards are always portrayed that way."
"You watch TV shows?" Wang Bo asked a very unrefined question.
Natasha: ...
She felt he was doing it on purpose, but she still explained, "Agents are human too. I occasionally watch movies or TV shows in my spare time. What did you think? That I'm on missions 24/7?"
Wang Bo smiled faintly. In truth, his question had been deliberate.
Natasha said, "I think you should bring him back now. If it's any later, I'm afraid he'll really freeze to death."
"Don't worry. He's the king of spies after all. Just this short time won't kill him." Wang Bo and Natasha had only chatted for five minutes. Given Nick Fury's physical condition, he wouldn't die.
So he dawdled for several more minutes, until Natasha was almost out of patience, then clapped his hands and brought Nick Fury back from the South Pole.
Nick Fury appeared instantly in the office. He returned with his arms crossed over his chest. In just over ten minutes, he was covered in snow and frost, even his eyebrows dusted with white.
Natasha was even more shocked when she saw Nick Fury return.
Earlier, Wang Bo had sent him to the South Pole, which was just sorcery performed at close range.
But now? He sat there, clapped his hands, and pulled Nick Fury back from the distant South Pole—that was what she found hard to believe.
Didn't that mean that standing right here, he could effortlessly send anyone in the world to the South or North Pole?
Or even more extreme—what if it wasn't the South or North Pole, but a volcano, or ten thousand meters under the sea, or even outer space?
Who knew if he could actually do it?
If he could, who would ever find those he killed? Those places were perfect for disposing of bodies.
Even more outrageous, they would have no evidence to arrest him.
Even if they bypassed evidence and acted directly,
who could kill him?
They could lay an elaborate trap, but he could break through in an instant. Facing such an enemy, if they couldn't kill him in one blow, they would face endless retaliation.
Whether eating, sleeping, exercising, or watching TV, they could be killed by him at any moment.
At that thought, Natasha grew restless.
After returning from the South Pole, Nick Fury was shivering from the cold. But he was the king of spies after all. After a brief daze, he quickly regained his composure.
After confirming with Natasha that being sent to the South Pole wasn't an illusion but real, he quickly adjusted his attitude, no longer exuding the oppressive pressure he had before.
After all, in the presence of such a mysterious wizard, until he understood what sorcery the wizard possessed, he wouldn't act rashly.
"Mr. Hammer." Although Nick Fury still felt cold, he could now speak, no longer shivering so much that he couldn't even utter a word.
"I apologize for my attitude just now."
Wang Bo was quite surprised. Getting the king of spies to lower his posture was no easy feat. Clearly, the lesson he had just taught had left a deep impression.
"No need to be polite," Wang Bo said calmly.
Nick Fury's expression shifted several times before he slowly said, "Since Mr. Hammer is unwilling to discuss his affairs, we'll take our leave. If you ever wish to talk, we'll be at your service."
"Then wait until I'm in the mood," Wang Bo replied dismissively.
Nick Fury gave Wang Bo a long, hard look, then turned and left the office with Natasha.
