Chapter 039: Taking a Bath
获得主角能力的我只想过平凡生活 · 第039章 泡澡
After Wang Bo dodged the纠缠不休 Natasha, he was about to return to the crowd when he found a man with a high hairline blocking his way.
“This should be our first meeting, Mr. Hammer. I am—”
“I know you, Phil Coulson, S.H.I.E.L.D. Level 8 agent, future director.” Wang Bo cut in. “But I’m not interested in you right now. I’m in a hurry.”
“S.H.I.E.L.D. is indeed a good name. I’ll suggest it to the director. And I am indeed a Level 8 agent, but what do you mean by ‘future director’?”
Coulson smiled warmly, looking surprised. “Are you saying I’ll become director someday?”
“Basically, yes.” Wang Bo nodded. “Move aside.”
“That’s wonderful.” Coulson didn’t step aside but instead smiled joyfully. “I never thought I’d become director of S.H.I.E.L.D. That’s really good news. But may I ask, will my current boss get promoted? Or will he unfortunately die in the line of duty?”
Wang Bo looked at him helplessly. “You’re really a walking encyclopedia of questions, Coulson. I already told you, I don’t have time for you. If you block my way again, I’ll send you on a free trip to Antarctica.”
“Please don’t do that.” Coulson immediately stepped back.
Although Nick Fury had tried to keep that incident under wraps, as his trusted confidant, Coulson had learned about it from Natasha.
“Good. Now get out of my way.” Wang Bo smiled.
Coulson had no choice but to step aside.
“Thanks.” Wang Bo nodded slightly, passed Coulson, and returned to the crowd.
Without the interruptions from Natasha and Coulson, Wang Bo once again became the center of attention among the ladies and successfully scored a date with a pair of twins.
After the party ended, Wang Bo was about to invite the twin sisters when Tony Stark appeared out of nowhere and said, “Nice choice. Trust me, those twins are top-notch.”
“How do you know?” Wang Bo asked in surprise.
Tony Stark looked at Wang Bo with a knowing smile that only a veteran playboy would understand.
Wang Bo: …
“You know what? I’ve completely lost my appetite.” Wang Bo felt like sending Tony Stark on a self-guided tour of Antarctica. If Tony had said that after the fact, Wang Bo might have debated it with him.
But now, Wang Bo felt a bit put off.
So he no longer had the same enthusiasm.
Forget it. Time to go home.
Wang Bo patted Tony Stark on the shoulder, making his bones creak, as a small act of revenge, then slowly boarded his spaceship and left.
The spaceship departed silently, like a ghost in the night, leaving behind a pair of disappointed twins and a wincing Tony Stark.
…
“Welcome back, Master.”
When Wang Bo returned home, the maid from Hydra, Roberta, was still awake, standing at the door to greet him.
Wang Bo grunted in response, walked into the living room, and plopped down on the sofa.
“Roberta, draw me a bath.”
“Yes, Master.” Roberta nodded and turned into the bathroom.
Wang Bo was very satisfied with this Hydra maid. Not only was she obedient, but she never nagged, never urged him to complete his mission, and never used Hydra to pressure him.
At home, she was like a real maid. Except for her cleaning and cooking, which were subpar, everything else was great.
So Wang Bo had a good impression of this maid. Sometimes he even thought about whether he should just take her with him and make her his personal maid.
He could bring her along to any world.
After all, with the Time Villa, Wang Bo had the means to take people out of the current world.
And Wang Bo believed that following him was a much better prospect than following Hydra.
Even if Roberta was a die-hard Hydra loyalist, Wang Bo could reason with her, appeal to her emotions, or, if all else failed, brainwash her into being loyal to him.
“Master, the bath is ready.” Just as Wang Bo was thinking, Roberta returned and said.
Wang Bo nodded, got up, went into the bathroom, undressed, slowly sank into the tub, and let out a comfortable groan.
Although Wang Bo could use magic to clean himself in an instant, he preferred the feeling of soaking in a bath over magic.
After a while, Roberta came in, holding a washcloth.
“Master, would you like your back scrubbed?”
“Sure.” Wang Bo nodded and slowly leaned over the edge of the tub.
Roberta stepped forward and began scrubbing his back.
“Roberta.”
“What are your orders, Master?” Roberta asked expressionlessly.
“Would you like to leave Hydra and come with me?” Wang Bo finally said it.
Roberta remained silent, continuing to scrub his back as if she hadn’t heard him.
Wang Bo continued, “Hydra is okay, but its growth potential is too limited. It will never dominate Earth, let alone reach the stars.”
“I don’t know why you joined Hydra, but I can promise you that following me is far more promising than following Hydra.”
“And I can assure you that whatever your wish, I can make it come true.”
“So, how about it? Want to come with me and be my personal maid?”
Having traveled through so many worlds, Wang Bo had finally found a maid he liked, so of course he wanted to lure her away.
Roberta still said nothing.
Wang Bo didn’t mind. “Maybe you think I’m boasting. That’s because you don’t know me, Roberta. I’ve never taken Hydra seriously. The only reason I joined Hydra was to use their intelligence network.”
“To be honest, Hydra’s combat strength is laughably weak to me.”
If Wang Bo wanted to, he could mass-produce mechanical soldiers and sweep across Earth, let alone deal with Hydra. In terms of combat power, ten Hydras wouldn’t be a match for him.
But Hydra had been around for years, with members spread all over the world. Their intelligence network was like a vast web, reaching every corner of the globe. That was what Wang Bo valued.
Building such an intelligence network couldn’t be done overnight.
Although Wang Bo’s combat power was off the charts, he had to admit that Hydra’s intelligence was leagues ahead of his.
That was why Wang Bo had joined Hydra.
