Chapter 5: Borrowing a Heart

获得主角能力的我只想过平凡生活 · 第005章 借心

Black Wing sped along, its four tires gripping the ground tightly, charging forward on the bustling streets of Tokyo.

Wang Bo rested one hand on the steering wheel, his gaze fixed ahead, slightly lost in thought. He was now pondering his future life—how to make it happy and fulfilling.

"Master, someone is following us."

Just then, Black Wing suddenly warned Wang Bo.

Wang Bo snapped back to reality and glanced back, seeing that there was indeed a black sedan closely tailing them.

"How long has this car been following us?" Wang Bo asked.

Black Wing said, "This car has been behind us ever since we left the apartment."

Wang Bo immediately understood—this car was clearly coming for him.

No, no, no, more precisely, it was coming for Kaneki Ken. It seemed the trouble surrounding Kaneki Ken was considerable; even after settling the debt, someone was still tailing him.

"Keep going, don't bother with them," Wang Bo said indifferently. Let them follow; as long as they didn't interfere with his normal life, Wang Bo couldn't be bothered.

If they dared to disrupt his life, Wang Bo wouldn't be polite either—he'd send them off directly.

Returning to the apartment building, Wang Bo had Black Wing stay in the parking lot. As soon as he got out of the car, he found a group of men in black surrounding him from all directions, trapping him.

The leading man, with short hair and sunglasses, blocked Wang Bo's path and said in a low voice, "Mr. Kaneki, our young master wishes to meet you."

"Alright." Wang Bo nodded.

He had just been thinking that if these people didn't bother him, he wouldn't lay a hand on them. But before he even got home, they couldn't wait to jump out.

Since that was the case, Wang Bo would go with them to see why they had targeted Kaneki.

The short-haired man was slightly surprised at Wang Bo's cooperation but still said politely, "This way, please, Mr. Kaneki."

Led by the man, Wang Bo got into a car.

The man had two subordinates sit beside Wang Bo to prevent him from escaping, then drove himself, taking Wang Bo out of the apartment parking lot.

Within half an hour, Wang Bo noticed the man was driving out of Shinjuku Ward, so he asked, "Where are we going?"

The short-haired man replied, "Please be patient, Mr. Kaneki. We'll be there soon."

Though he said that, the "soon" in the short-haired man's words took another half hour before the car arrived at the gate of a very classical Japanese-style courtyard.

In a place like Tokyo, owning such a classical Japanese courtyard meant the owner was undoubtedly a symbol of wealth and power.

Even if Wang Bo had exchanged gems for ten billion yen, he might not be able to buy such a courtyard.

"Please get out, Mr. Kaneki."

The short-haired man parked the car at the main gate and politely invited Wang Bo out.

Wang Bo got out of the car, followed the group through the gate, walked along a stone-paved path, crossed a courtyard full of nature and Zen, and entered an elegant and quiet Japanese-style room.

The furniture in this room was filled with the unique freshness, naturalness, and simplicity of Japanese furniture. On the wall hung a large calligraphy scroll, with the character "Zen" written in cursive script.

Although Wang Bo didn't understand calligraphy, he could tell that the person who wrote this character had strokes that were vigorous and powerful, like dragons and snakes dancing—clearly a master calligrapher.

The floor of the room was tatami. Wang Bo didn't like sitting in seiza, so he simply sat cross-legged.

After leading Wang Bo into the room, the short-haired man withdrew, leaving Wang Bo alone inside.

Wang Bo wasn't anxious; he pondered his future life alone, waiting quietly.

A few minutes later, a woman in a kimono knelt, slid open the door, then stood up and entered carrying tea.

The woman placed the teacup in front of Wang Bo and said softly, "Please enjoy."

Then she respectfully withdrew.

Though Japanese tea ceremony originated from China, it had developed its own style. Wang Bo had seen this many times in anime.

But as a beverage, Wang Bo still found tea hard to accept.

Compared to tea, Wang Bo preferred coffee, milk tea, or happy water (soda).

Especially the crystal cola from the world of Toriko, which was exceptional and had earned Wang Bo's high praise. So faced with this cup of fragrant tea, Wang Bo had no desire to taste it at all.

After a while, the room's door was pushed open again.

A man in a white kimono entered from outside and knelt before Wang Bo.

The man was just over twenty, about the same age as Kaneki Ken, but with a pale complexion and an irregular heartbeat, looking sickly.

"Nice to meet you, Mr. Kaneki Ken." The man introduced himself very formally: "I am Fujiwara Shin."

Fujiwara?

According to Kaneki Ken's residual memories, Fujiwara was a very ancient surname in Japan. No wonder this guy dressed in antique style—his ancestors were once nobles.

"What business does Mr. Fujiwara have with me?" Wang Bo asked calmly.

Fujiwara Shin said seriously, "To be honest with you, Mr. Kaneki, the reason I sought you out is to borrow something from you. I swear that if you are willing to lend it to me, I will do my utmost to compensate you for your loss."

Wang Bo looked at Fujiwara Shin and asked, "And what does Mr. Fujiwara wish to borrow?"

Fujiwara Shin said, "A heart."

Wang Bo clapped his hands in sudden realization: "I see. Mr. Fujiwara has taken a fancy to my heart. No wonder I noticed your heartbeat is irregular—it's heart disease."

Fujiwara Shin said bitterly, "I do suffer from congenital heart disease. Only Mr. Kaneki's heart can save my life, so I beg you to part with it."

Wang Bo couldn't help but chuckle. So that's why those guys from the Ishida Group tried every means to drive Kaneki Ken to death.

It was all for Kaneki Ken's heart, to use it to save this man before him.

"So, the Ishida Group works for you."

Fujiwara Shin shook his head and said, "The Ishida Group is nothing but a dog that can't accomplish anything but can spoil everything. They don't count as people, nor are they my men."

"The Ishida Group spoiled things, so you came personally."

Fujiwara Shin nodded, "I didn't expect Mr. Kaneki to be so fortunate. So I had to personally implore you: please, by all means, lend me your heart."

Wang Bo couldn't help but laugh. Was this an imploration?

If the person here were not Wang Bo but Kaneki Ken himself, he wouldn't have had the right to refuse at all.
